The "tracing" paper in the book is velum. It protects the art from the ink print. The Walt Whitman is always a goodie...😊

hey gorgeous! AMAZING finds - especially the walt whitman book (i collect vintage Leaves of Grass books, so i'm JEALOUS), and the 2 paris paintings! when my parents were on their honeymoon in europe in the 60's, they walked by a man painting in the street in paris, and asked if they could buy the painting he was working on. he said he was a few hours away from finishing, so they could come back. they paid him, went to the opera (they are musicians) and came back to find the painting just sitting there waiting for them (a safer time, for sure!) and when they looked closer - he had PAINTED THEM INTO THE PAINTING!!!!!! it's been my favorite thing and favorite story my entire life, and when i got married they gave it to me :) if our house caught on fire - i would literally grab that painting before i grabbed my husband ;D treasure them! xoxoxo

Can I just say, I love your appreciation for unique paintings. As an artist, it makes my heart sing seeing someone appreciate unique works that have ended up somewhere that you find them and continue their journey onwards, I’ve been told my parents pieces have been bought for people oversees and it’s the most exhilarating feeling knowing something your created is on a journey and not knowing where it will end up in the long run, or who it will touch along the way. 💕

Mexican here! My Childhood closet has like 5 of those blankets. They're not that old. 90's for sure, they were the only blankets we could afford.
I have like 3 of those too! My mom bought them at a Market in Chihuahua like 15 hrs ago. Super warm blankets tho.

me too! i bought 5 gorgeous ones at a thrift store in seattle in 1996, and still use them allllll the time and they've held up perfectly! my husband is half mexican and when he moved in he brought like 10 of his own that his grandmother had made, lol! we're overflowing! ;D

you can find those blankets all over Mexico at a really good prices, i live in Tijuana and they cost between 5lls - 10dlls

Slow cooker burrito bowls- (brown) rice, can of black beans, can of diced tomatoes, couple boneless skinless chicken parts (thighs, breasts, tenders, frozen or thawed- doesn't matter), can of green chilies, cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, pepper, minced garlic. Dump all in the slow cooker high for 4 hours or low for 8. Serve with any or all- chips, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, tortillas. Excellent leftovers.
As a mexican, watching the blanket made me proud, we still make them like that. Chunky, kind of rough.i love mine
The last two paintings you showed .. I'm pretty sure that the one you were holding in your left hand (more yellow) is an Antonio DeVity. If it is I would highly recommend getting it appraised!! My mom picked up an original at an auction Barn years ago ... And it hung above our sofa for the longest time until she decided to redecorate and looked into it more and turns out it was quite valuable!
Hi! I'm from Mexico and you can still definetly find those kinds of throws here in Mexico in markets and even just like selling them on the streets 🙊and they aren't vintage just brand new!

My dad has one of those “Mexican” blankets! He studied abroad in Columbia in the 80s. It’s identical to yours but it’s green. It’s super warm and nice for snuggling!!

I have to give you a heads up, that blanket salesman was selling some dupes. The fringed pink and blue "mexican blanket" he was selling is from Amazon (gave it to a friend for her birthday). Maybe the one you have is genuine vintage, beautiful either way! Just worth knowing for future ref.
I’m a blue and white China girl, love me a good ginger jar in various sizes. In the blue theme I also love blue glass and I collect old blue hard cover books. Love a bit of brass too.
I give you credit for getting up so early to treasure hunt. Honestly, it's painful for me to watch you shop such an abundant market since there are no flea markets and haven't been any happening in my neck-of-the-woods ~ sigh.... So many things I would die for and all I can do is watch you shop. Not particularly fun for me, but I do enjoy seeing what you chose and how much it cost. It appears that quite a few CZcamsrs film their flea market excursions and have a large audience that enjoys them finding and buying all this great stuff. It surprises me that so many enjoy those videos, since it just pisses me off that I'm not the one finding great stuff. BUT watching you is always a pleasure.

I absolutely love how your style has evolved! I’m not super invested in my rental because I can’t seem to figure out my style and I don’t want to be buying things that I might not like in a month and I’m planning on moving after this year anyway. But I love how the things you find at the flea market or even the thrift store seem timeless!
