- I recently saw the new "Beauty And The Beast" and it might honestly be in my top 3 favorite movies of all time. This is a song from the movie called "Evermore". It's when the beast is climbing up the tower singing about the fact that Belle ditched him. Anyways here is the cover, enjoy it!

This is a song full of emotion. I think it means that He is not just going to move on he is saying that now he has lost Belle he will find her in his pain and happiness. He is going to still remember her forever and is not going to forget her. He was saying she was his one and only true love. Yes he will not be bitter about it but he will think about her daily and in everything he does he will find her in it. He also knows that he can't just go and chase after her and stop her. He loves her so much that he would rather be sad and let her go then see her upset. At the starting he would not have let her go if he knew it would break the spell. It shows he really did learn to love and this song is him singing about his pain of her leaving but him knowing that he will not forget her. I know some people have seen my comment of this but I added to it

He's singing in a lower register than Dan Stevens. It's too easy and an unchallenging rendition. There's nothing special about this performance. He lacks vocal control and has problems with sustaining notes. Also he's about as gay as an Easter basket in the dead of winter. He might as well wear the rainbow flag on his shirt.

Absolutely phenomenal. You're voice is very steady and well supported, I imagine you're around 17 or so, and as another teen singer, I know how hard this must have been. Bravo sir, may you make covers for evermore.

This is my favorite song on Beauty and the Beast. One time I was at a hotel and I was in the pool, and you know how pool rooms always echo, well I was singing this song and trying to mimic Beasts' deep voice and it sounded awesome with the echoing and stuff.

I love your explanation of the song but it's not accurate... he's singing about how even though Belle left him he's not gonna let that make him cold and bitter again he's going to let it change him mold him and create a human again even though his appearance wouldn't show it
THATGINGER THEORIST agree to disagree, but this song is a very meloncholy song. yea the beast learned to happiness of love, but he realizes that belle probably isnt going to come back and its ironic that when he finally found someone to love and who at least cared for him in return, someone who could break his curse, he chose to let her go for her sake even if it meant damning him. hence the title "evermore"
I also have a bit of a different opinion. I love both of your interpretations too though!
I thought the song on the "surface" about him realizing what love was, and it changing and molding him into a different person. But underneith, it was about what love really is. The first verse is about him realizing, admitting, that he is in love. He recognizes that it is foolish, but he couldn't let the feeling go. The first chorus then explains one of the main parts of love: pain. Love can hurt. A lot.
The second verse then explains him rushing through the battle of love. He is trying to beat love. He is "raging through the trials of love" and trying to beat them all, trying to get to Belle. But he eventually realizes that there is no way to win. When he says "Though she's already flown so far beyond my reach, She's never out of sight," he is recognizing that he loves her, and he can't get rid of that feeling - that no matter what, she will stay with him.
The final chorus then explains how love *is* ultimately worth it. She inspires him and will be a part of him no matter what.
Both choruses finish with the word "evermore" (which is also the name of the song) which is basically a more poetic word for "always." The beast is saying that she will *always* haunt him but that she will always be a part of him, no matter what.
I love this song so much because of its message: love is painful. Love can hurt. A lot. But ultimately, love makes you a better person. Love can change anybody. You can't fight love, you can't fight your feelings because love wins. Love will always win. And love is worth it.
Again though, this is just my opinion. And you both have excellent interpretations too! This is why I love songs - and writing in general for that matter - so much! Everybody has different life experiences and depending on those experiences, writing can effect you in different ways! Everybody has different interpritations of writing, each of which is excellent in its own way.

That is a beautiful and excellent interpretation of the song, also nerds are AWESOME.
My interpretation of the song is that he's just plain heartbroken. He really did _love_ Belle, he actually opened up to her and now she's leaving him and never coming back. Like the song said though, she'll still be there. In his heart and his mind. He'll still constantly think of her. When he's looking down at the empty seats at dinner, when he walks past the now empty bedroom, ballroom and library. The next time he lashes out, thinks of his mother, uses the magical book, or even just look outside. The song really just explains it for itself. She'll still inspire, hurt, calm, torment, move, and be apart of him for "Evermore".
This is the coolest version of Evermore ever.

I came to this video with no expectations at all... but when he began to sing I was so surprised. Didn't expect such a calm, relaxing voice to come out. The whole song was great but that beginning was incredible!

No, it really isn't. He lacks vocal control and is unable to sustain many of those notes. He's also singing in a lower register, which is much easier than the original sung by Dan Stevens. This is a very mediocre cover. You're from Japan, so you don't know much about singing western music. lol

no that kid can sing well, he has no off pitch, he did what he can do, just dont blame on that kid, he has talent and has a beautiful gift given by god. greg sang with confidence without fear. he is a superstar.

What makes you so sure he used auto tune? It is 100% possible he hit all of those gorgeous notes with out help. It is also possible he didn't, but don't be so negative and attempt criticism of this cover just because you think he used auto tune.
Actually hear on 2:50 an around, that metallic-ish voice is caused by autotune. Just try to use it once and you'll recognize it anywhere after that.
