@@vaioskoutis7998 stop being silly. I said the 2013 GT500 is faster in the turns than the Porsche 911 Turbo, not the Porsche 997.
The 2013 Porsche 911 Turbo has a base price of $138,000. The 2013 GT500 has a base price of $55,000. Their price points are insanely different, the Porsche is almost triple the price, but the GT500 beats it in every performance category.
I can compare cars of insainly different price points all I want, it is not my fault Porsche makes a sports car that is far more expensive than Ford and slower both in turns and in a straight line. Obviously the more expensive sports car should be faster, especially when it is almost three times the price of a different sports car. But it is slower. So sad.
Maybe this fact just embarrasses Porsche fans so you try to make excuses about price point. Sorry, comparing sports cars to sports cars is fair no matter the price point. I did not compare a hypercar to a sports car which would not be fair.
You have been defeated by facts, have a nice day.

With a new cold air intake and tune and rear end gears this thing is easily a 12 second car. The performance and looks for the price is unbeatable.

I also have a 2012 GT with an Air Raid Cold Air Induction system, 85mm throttle body, Flow Master Catback system, & 3:73 gears. As it now sits, there are very few cars I can't destroy on the street. I just purchased a Boss 302 manifold & a Barton Industries short throw linkage. The linkage on my manual tranny is the only weak point on the car. Can't wait to get these in my car. I'm from the old school where the car that got from Point A to Point B in a straight line won. And you're right; you can't beat the price. Dollar for dollar the Mustang is the best muscle car, period.

hartsickdisciple About a month ago I had an Edelbrock E-Force Stage II supercharger installed on my car. It's supposed to deliver 646 hp thru the stock exhaust. However, I don't think the tune that Edelbrock supplied me with is worth a shit. I've found a place about 4 miles from home that has an engine dyno. My car is going there Monday to get dialed in. I wonder what my car could do at the quarter mile once I get the supercharger dialed in. My old 69 Mach 1 with a Cobra Jet could only muster 14.30 at our local drag strip. It had 4.30 gears. The new stangs are miles ahead of the old technology. Have a good one!

Chevrolet's investment in the Corvette and the Nurburgring development team has paid off, the Camaro has been having the Ring treatment for several years. +James Young Are you talking about the new ZL1 vs the 3-4 old GT500 or are you talking about the current ZL1 vs the last 13/14 GT500? If I remember correctly the GT500 had a faster time something like 7:40 vs the ZL1's 7:41...quarter mile it was like GT500's 11.6 vs 12.2..and top speed GT500 202mph vs the ZL1's 184mph. That's a pretty big gap in all regards, but for the most part none of us are professional drivers so all that matters if one personally likes the car:).
The current GT350R does the Nürburgring in 7:32.19. The z/28 did it in 7:37 (ZL1 did it in 7:41). As far as "throwing hp"...well look at the current camaro or even the new Z06...they added a supercharger to compete in the hp wars. The highest end mustang now is a naturally aspirated motor (no power adders) and it is stomping other cars on the ring with more hp as well. I do agree with you about the corvette..fantastic car..whether it is a regular stingray or the z06...

I respect what GM is trying to do with the Camaro. Yes, I think they are ass-ugly, and you can't see out of them. They are pretty well-balanced, good performing, reliable cars. However, that's not why I buy a muscle/pony car. I buy it for character, and the Mustang has loads more of it. It looks better, goes better in a straight line, handles fairly well, and I can see out of it. If you're a drag racer, it's a well-known fact that every trim level Mustang is faster than the Camaro and Challenger competition at its price level this generation. The GT 5.0 is really the one to get, once you put proper tires on it and replace the crappy stock shift linkage with MGW. I wonder what Chris would think of the Boss 302.

Michael Ellis Can you two stop complaining about which brand you think is better? They're both great cars. The Shelby is fantastic at what it does: scaring the crap out of you. The ZL1 is great at being a track car. They're both really good looking too, even though I prefer the GT500. It's all about preference and you can't go wrong with either one of these cars. Plus the ZL1 has been dethroned: the Z/28 is much better at going around the track. And later this year Ford will have the upper hand when the GT350 and GT350R are released. The new Shelby is putting down around 550hp from a naturally aspirated, flat-plane crank engine. It's also been built for the track unlike the old GT500. So you can fully expect it to spank any Camaro on the track. And then, when the next Camaro comes out it might do the same thing to the Shelby. That's how it goes with American muscle cars, they one-up each other every time a new one comes out.

Yeah the ford 'badd gt' is in the top ten, number 6 or so, but hardly production (custom Built) still sucks ass, because even if you could afford it, you couldn't afford to drive it. That 'ford' website was cute though. As for mustake its a girls car, always was, always will be a 'MUSTAKE". Completely an accident.

RustyRedBallz agree with the Ford GT not being the fastest. The GT40 was "sponsored" by Ford for Ford racing, just over 100 were made, but YOU COULD order one from a dealership. Ford did this after a failed attempt to buy Ferrari. Like the GT40, you can not call the Ford GT a "production car" more than you could call a Bugatti a production car. A Vett is a production car

You also have to realize that the ZL1 as he stated is "de-tuned". So this car was probably around the 620-640 mark before the tune was messed with. I'd say it was tuned down in order to make it more tame on the track without needing to add even wider tires to make it hook on the track. I could be wrong but it makes sense.

Just as I was expecting. Being a ford fan, I know the Camaro can handle better around corners, The suspension, and weight distribution though it is heavier, makes it better on a track. The shelby is the beast of the beasts...but being as light weight as it is, with irs tremendous power it suffers greatly for traction, from the launch and on corners. I would say its more of a steaight line car, I favor both cars in their own way so Im not picking either or. Just stating my thoughts(:
