“No u” lmao
Always love the dog inclusive clips. Always. Cedric looks to be 'maturing' handsomely and Ada is still able to be a bit of a tease. Thanks for your efforts and time. Best to you all down under. Enjoy.
I love the Centerdrive mainly for the long, centered and universal screwdriver. It makes life so much easier. I wish Leatherman would do something similar.
Hey Pete! Stay healthy. Stay safe.
Thanks for the info. I was interested in this. Was.
As flimsy as the victorinox scissors spring looks, it still usually works on 30 year old knives just like the day you bought it.
Agreed!
+ lifetime warranty
Don't exhaust yourself Pete. Thanks for the vids!
BTW You're doing great on your speaking. Well done!
Damn I really liked the tool set and the look but yeah it has to actually be useable.
On a more important note I love how Cedric has no intention of giving up his toy and Ada knows it.
I know everyone seems to hate it but I like my Armbar, does everything I need it to do at work. I do wish the driver locked though, that would be a major improvement. I've also dropped the shit out of mine and its survived so theres that
I got one and it’s fine ...does what it’s supposed to do and does it well!
Stay healthy, stay safe, enjoy time w the fam, and we'll be here to enjoy vids when you make them. Thanks!
Gerber tools look nice and can be innovative, however every single Gerber I have ever actually used has shattered just as you described. I will never buy another one.
Same. When I first started getting into knives I didn’t realize Gerber sold off their good name and the new owners made junk using the Gerber name. I lost over $100 on knives because they were absolute garbage. I will never support this company again.
I enjoy watching your videos- laid back and clearly you’re enjoying yourself- excellent
That’s about the fifth time I’ve noticed a product and was going to get the product and do a review on my channel that you’ve done a video the next day. It’s either Syncronicity, we’re living in a computer simulation or you are a witch doctor. It’s gotta be one of them..lol... nice review mate. Take care.
Lol
Great video brother. Good luck in the field. It’s crazy out here in the USA
Never thought it would get this bad but it is sad and scary. People are not taking it as serious as it should have been taken. Be safe and as for the tool I agree with everything you said on it. I own the centerdrive plus and I adore it haha and my SAK 😁😁
My takeaway from this review: The bottle opener is its most favored feature. Which is kind of sad when you consider that there are about 150 ways to open a bottle without a dedicated bottle opener...
Thoughtful and thorough review. Stay safe out there.
Thanks for stuff and good luck back at work.
PLEAAAASE please please PLEASE do a cut test with this :(
Im really curious how the steel holds up.. gerber says they are quite happy with it
Good honest review. Hope you are well Peat
Dawwww. Thanks for including Ced and Ada for us.
I love all your content, Pete
I’d like to see your take on the SOG PowerPint. It’s a pliers-based multitool, but it’s not all that much bigger than the Armbar. It also accepts bits like the Armbar, which is why this video made me think of it.
Thank you, all the best
Good luck out there Pete. I’m in healthcare in the US and it’s rough all over.
Gerber multitools are like those something from those Only Seen On TV infomercials shown in the middle of night when people are either so wasted they'll actually order it, or for hoarders that will buy anything as long as bright capped teeth are telling them it's a limited time offer.
Nice review. I have one, agree entirely about the lack of lock or even any detent on the driver and awl; only mine.... even the scissor troubled -- the spring slips off to the outside of the tool really often, becoming useless. I can bend it back, but it's a regular thing. Not even close to state of the art for a pocket tool scissor.
Remember that really old video where you reviewed the Bear Grylls Ultimate Pro fixed blade? Ironically that is the only Gerber product in recent years I have ever owned that hasn't crapped out on me one way or another. Its faded into some disgusting pale orange, most of the black paint is gone but its still going strong, despite being treated as an $5 disposable blade. It rides along with me in the glove compartment now.
I was pretty hyped on this knife. Maybe I'll wait for a gen 2 where they add a pocket clip and fix it's little issues.
Maybe I'll buy one anyway tho, it's only like forty dollars. . .
The Skeletool is the best light duty multitool made period. I keep one on a belt loop and use it every day on something. I did buy this tool but the corkscrew version. At that job it works fine.
Keep it up dude, stay safe.
Goodluck and be safe Pete
Bottle opener when closed serves as a “hammer.” Thanks for the review!
Actually yesterday's video was great. Thanks for pushing through the hangover. I actually clicked it because I really wanted to hear more about the diafold gear but the drunken ramble was fun anyways.
So yeah, what's your take on diafold and would you personally spend the cash for a full set?
Cheers Pete.
My 40 € Leatherman wingman cuts steel nails all day... Center drive was done for me when I saw it shattered after a thin wire.
Get the Leatherman Wave and the wire cutters will pop a small brinks lock without a mark
Can you use the cap lifter as a small hammer ?? Good luck and stay healthy !!
I cannot believe you forgot the hammer on the back of the bottle opener, would love to see you try driving a nail with it
"It won't hold an edge too long, because Gerber steels just don't" Pretty much sums up the company.
Good content
What size is that shirt you have on? Extra medium? Hope you are feeling better.
A tool failing when clearing the way for an ambulance seems like a lot more than a bummer. Depending on the context of course.
yeah I used that center drive in a much less time sensitive environment but industrial all the same and it does not hold up. It's just too heavy to be a light duty multitool.
More!
Be safe Pete... wacky and wild out there serving the public! Maybe hawk that armbar for petty cash.
An extender with an extended bit! Well, I NEVER!
My Gerber ArmBar has a slightly stronger spring spring then some other reviewers. Especially the awl. I can drill into wood and it won’t disengage
I had a centre drive once, I dropped it 18 meters onto concrete and it broke. It was an accident. I haven't bought a new one.
...is that a criticism of it?
@@primeministersinister625 I had a Surge which over a period of years broke down. The Centre Drive was a replacement but it was not coping at all well.
This is why I can't have nice things.
So did the person that needed the ambulance die?
Right before I watched this video I had a guy comment on a multitool review video I did saying the tool was crap because he couldn't open a paint can with it. I politely responded, "The multitool was not the issue. The problem is between your ears sir." Anyway people comment stupid stuff frequently. Even someone as good looking as me gets a few a day.
Where I live it's illegal to carry wire cutters. Get 'em boys!
The fact that Gerber is bullshit doesn’t put your great reviews in jeopardy.
It's a shame they didn't just use the little delrin locks like the Center Drive, or the Multi-Pliers.
Keep your vitamin C up. Good luck.
👍
The blade is made from all the bottle tops it took off!
Love an awl. Every proper multitool should have an awl. And thank you for working during this shit. Stay safe.
you don't like folding knives enough for me to be honest, also never sure when you're being serious or not, don't worry about it man, you're entertaining.
I think that he just doesn't like tools in general. This "youtube" thing he has going is obviously to attract crowds from the chess and checkers community, so that he can have enough stardom to become best friends with the guy who played Hector in "The Fast and the Furious".
Is this the knife lab or the Gun show😛
Some farm fences use mild steel wire and some use high carbon high tensile wire, you may have encountered the latter. Not sure that is an excuse for your cutters shattering, but it is shit stuff
I'm pretty sure I heard him tell this story previously, and the kicker was that it was some light duty multitool (like a leatherman squirt or something) that finished the job.
Those centre drive cutters are notorious for breaking super easily.
@@edsaunders1897 I'm pretty sure I've made the exact same comment as my comment above on that video. I'm not really interested, it's just a procedural response like chat bots interacting at this stage! Haha, no, that is good to know, thanks.
Croykey mate
Back to drawing Board
If the blade was a slipjoint blade and screwdriver locked i would love it.
Exactly. Like how dumb is Gerber? Their multitools are always so close to greatness, but always have a fatal flaw.
Hi
I think I like the wine opener version more because its main feature outside the knife works better (I assume) than the direct competition, because it has an assist for the corkscrew. That said, I'm done buying Made in China, so I won't be getting it.
If it was a clip on it to woud be nice.
But i almost use on of my leatherman evry day
6:30 made me laugh
Gerber doesn't seem to impress me one bit since I got my leatherman.
Why dont you ever do crocodile dundee 😆 it would be hilarious
Upwards of 90% of Australians find it tired and cringeworthy when people reference that movie/stereotype, it’s like an Australian trying to do a cowboy impression
@@deathbyastonishment7930 thats whats hilarious. Like when he does a cowboy or uncle Randy. I mean if its offensive to him then i agree not to doit but if its all in good fun and comedy. Maybe he wouldnt want to offend his Australian audience
@@NeevesKnives I don't think it would offend anyone! well not anyone who isn't trying their very best to be offended. But it's just a bit tired
And on the Gerber rating scale of Strongarm to Baby Food, this is...
hahah an excellent scale. I may steal that next time
Since you're rocking the AKB shirt, I'll let it slide.
SKELETOOL CX FOR THE WIN!
Cut through a fence to get to someone??.... is that you John? John Rambo?
The 40 or so bottle openers I already have and never use are quite enough. I wish they'd use that space for another tool. t
About "armbar=crap"! Good review!
An extension and an extended bit seem like over compensating for something.
No U!
Victorinox'es are way more practical
You know what and why you buy
Sadely Gerber brand is not leveled with v.g. quality brands.
We may always expect some 'limited runs' but at the end .......
Anyway let's focus on a real issue right now concerning us way more
I don't understand why Gerber always do this. Even the Chinese fakes aren't in 5cr anymore! If the driver locked it'd be much better, and it wouldn't bother me if the blade didnt.
Fair review. Actually already subscribed to that dude so unsubbed and resubbed
Lol. Thought I saw my numbers fluctuate briefly.
Mild Mannered EDC 😅
Victoranox OWN this space. Gerber will FAIL!
Why didn't they put a half way stop/detent on the driver for extra wrenching, would have been nice touch. Turning it 90 degrees is the main benefit I see from having the driver as main tool
Victorinox cybertool is so much better!
Dogs make everything better
Thirst
You make Good videos, but these tools are not my thing
Good video, uninteresting tool
So soy
definitely
Overall, it's seems pretty shit.
