The Lich's speech from gold stars is GOATED, like all his speeches. Man's really got the perfect voice to portray an eternal eldritch horror

@@consolabieta ikr it's so cool, once you see it you will always notice it. This batch in particular was really good at showing you only the end results of certain characters' stories while also keeping in mind all the things the show isn't telling you.
[SPOILER]
For example in Martin's story if you've already seen the later episodes you can clearly differentiate between fake things and things he can still kinda remember, up until he shows the last bit of honesty left in him when he says "That's... true" and then switches back to fake-dad-mode to escape the uncomfortable situation

Notice how Martin is surprised when he said that him always meaning to come back for Finn was true, almost like he couldn't believe that he actually told the truth for once.
The actual backstory behind Martin is actually kinda messed up once all the pieces come together.

All of the "super weird" episodes of AT have a psychological explanation. Even the one about the comet that looks like a "spermatozoon" swimming into a "hole/crack" while the baby Finn says "yep, we are here" and the whole episode being all about the father-son relationship.
Scoot saying that the porp dog look like a souls boss made me realize you could actually make an insane souls-like game in the the adventure time universe I would love that shit

LMAO at my old Reddit comments still being cited five years later. I was the resident "It IS that deep, bro!" poster over on the sub from around S7 to the finale, and in particular I made a point of defending season six in all its weird, abstract, off-putting glory. I still feel the same about AT; honestly it seems like more and more folks are coming around to my way of thinking since the show ended. It's not exactly hard to notice what a deep show this is if you actually watch it.

The Mountain episode is the perfect example of why a collective conscience where nobody in it has individuality it's an absolute nightmare scenario, the sense of self it's really important... and to lose that can only be described as Hellish, you can see it once all of the being conforming Matthew got separated, they were completly deranged, and one even killed himself.
Gee.... it is such a good thing there is no other Popular Cartoon Network Show that says that fusing two or more individuals it's good thing right??? xddd

You could argue that anyone willing to abandon their corporeal form and individual identity for a collective consciousness must not be very happy, to put it mildly. It would make sense that they'd be extremely distressed or even kill themselves after being ejected from the collective consciousness
The difference there is that fusing in the other show is more like marriage and friendships and stuff. Where as here it's actual combining of multiple people
the difference between that show and this show is that that show you can leave the collective consciousness any time you want instead of being part of it forever.
Fusion aint for everyone and the show acknowledges that.

Martin is a piece of shit but I think his character is really fun and enjoyable to watch, might just be me but I like all the EPs he's in
Martin is a really easy character to hate, understandably so since all we’ve seen from him is him being absolute shit, but I think we will benefit from keeping an open mind.
Like idk, he mostly seems confused. Like he’s not quite there. I think he does have trauma but maybe not the mental kind. With all the crazy shit he’s constantly doing, what if he like hit his head or something? Or just experienced so much physical trauma in general that he got brain damaged?

I think he just gave up on life after the islands incident, he pretty much thinks he lost his chance to ever see his wife and son ever again, probs thinks they're dead, and just starts falling lower and lower and by the time we meet him at the cytidel he's so far from the loving dad he was before... pretty sad.
