If your hatred of Joffrey gets too bad just go back to ep1 s1 and watch Tyrion slap him about
You mean Joffrey became a dick because his uncle abused him?
So true. Need to insert that every time he appears! LOL
Tyrion was trying to get Joffrey to act human. Too bad it didn't work. Tyrion probably should've spanked him too, but the little so-and-so (Joffrey, not Tyrion) probably would've liked it. I don't usually condone it, but in Joffrey's case -- Slap him again for me, Tyrion! -- There is, somewhere on CZcams, a meme video with Tyrion doing this. Someone needs to lock Joffrey in his room without his supper, most definitely without his dessert. Boy is bad news.
Carlito Sway I think it's episode 2 tho after bran fell tyrion wanted him to go console lady cat
Moral of the story: It was all Tyrion's fault.
The young actor who plays Joffrey I think his name is Jack Gleeson does an outstanding job.
Big Bud Wiley lkr! 😁
gese74 ok 👍
He actionly quit acting because of the hate he gets in the streets which confirmes your statement sir, he made a lot of hate him just by pretending to be someone else. 😂😂
yes, he should quit acting lest he get murdered
I've heard it expressed that he is THE most loathesome character in all fiction
Rule #1 of watching Game of Thrones: Never get too attached to any character or they will kill them off in the next episode.
TheGorignak Like the Walking Dead.
You know what I really like Joffery.
“What is it with these riddles, what does that mean?”
“... it means never”
😂😂 good comic timing Nikki
ellystripes I'm still laughing 😂😂😂
The sorceress was right though. Drogo in fact got what he deserved, since he was little more than a savage who raped, murdered, and enslaved. His son would've been "the stallion who mounted the world"...meaning the world would've been his to rape and pillage. The sorceress understood this was the Dothraki way, especially after having experienced their brutality, seeing the heads of children in piles, her people murdered and raped, and her village burned.
This was also the moment in the series when I lost all respect and hope for Daenerys. From the end of this episode onwards, she becomes increasingly ruthless, vengeful, arrogant and hungry for the Iron Throne. Anyone who won't bend the knee, she burns.

L. Mucha - I hear you, but wholeheartedly disagree. Based on your logic, any serial killer, mass shooter, child rapist, etc...can justify their actions, and you wouldn’t be able to refute it, because morality is subjective and defined by whoever, through any lens they choose to view it. There has to be moral absolutes, and those cannot be skewed simply because some culture (anywhere in the world) justifies, honors, and exalts reprehensible evil.
Having said that, I love this series also. It does reflect the nature of man, and a great number of social atrocities that have occurred since the dawn of time. It’s generally understood that such things have been committed by individuals and the masses alike. But things like slavery, rape, and genocide are indeed evil...regardless of whether they are considered acceptable by one, or all.
At least y’all were surprised by the dragons 💗 Season 2... Whoop 🙌🏼
Hey mum' your here :D
Hi American mum, love your channel. BTW you and Nikki look a lot like each other. I think y'all might be related. Perhaps another "American Daughter". :P
Hi Mum, Want to say: you, Fernando, and all who are moderating for Nikki & Steven are doing a fantastic job and are greatly appreciated! I know one creep got through last episode but unfortunately, that will happen every once in a while. BTW: Haven't commented on your channel in a while, but still watch and still subbed!
And the great game is terrifying
Yeah the dragon spoiler is a hard one to avoid now-a-days, since every GoT commercial/promotional has a shot of the dragons. This was fun.
Lmao I just imagine Steve praying before he goes to bed every night “Dear God, please help Robb Stark kill Joffrey next season. Amen.”
Only death pays for life. Three deaths, three dragons. Khal Drogo, the baby and the horse.
More likely the third was Mirri Maz Duur (the maegi) since human sacrifices are stronger than animals.
Gabriel Celeste Except died outside of the ritual and a relatively long time afterwards. Yes human sacrifices are traditionally stronger but I believe it was supposed to be the horse
The dragons also didn't hatch directly after the ritual. Any time between it's beginning and their hatching is fair game.
Yes, Drogo and Rhaego. Some suggest that it's Mirri Maz Duur's life rather than the horse's. Either way, ♫ That's life. And I can't deny it. ♫
Mirri Maz Duur, not the freakin horse. the Dothraki have horse for dinner.
“As Daenerys Targaryen rose to her feet, her black hissed, pale smoke venting from its mouth and nostrils. The other two pulled away from her breasts and added their voices to the call, translucent wings unfolding and stirring the air, and for the first time in hundreds of years, the night came alive with the music of dragons.”
To be fair, I´m only quoting GRR Martin.
Blackfeather 22 Though of course in the book her hair burned, so she was bald.
So Daenerys breastfed those dragons? That's pretty creepy.
Cool way to end a book.
@@reactions5783 she's the mother of dragons for a reason my guy
That's why we call Daenerys "The Mother Of Dragons" unforgettable moment of GOT and one of the best moments on the show
season 2 will be even better u will see
the best is yet to come
awesome reaction :)
I don’t know if you caught it cus of the way you edited the video but did you see how the Hound protected Sansa?
He realized that she was going to push that little shit off the bridge. Instead of just stopping her, which was his job to protect the King, but would have ended up with her beaten some more. He instead stopped her in a way that kept Joffrey from realizing what happened.
So far all you see is the killer side of the Hound. This was the first time you see a deferent side of him.
*You* might have missed it, but Nikki says "He's trying to protect her." So, yah, I think they understood. lol
LOVE The Hound.
I came to love the hound , he ig developing i9n a great way.
Ned passed the info about jaime's children to Stannis btw
Idk about the show, sometimes I mix up the two, but I know in the books it is implied Jon Arryn and Stannis had confirmed their suspicions together about Cersei's kids not being Robert's. Stannis left King's Landing because he believed Cersei poisoned Jon Arryn. Stannis was part of the small council prior to his departure.
Chris P. You’re right. That happened in the books. In fact, Stannis brought it up with Jon Arryn that the kids may not be Robert’s. The details are in book #2.
Jon Arryn did
Hunbbel Meer Yea, I thought so. It's been a while since I picked up the books. What I'm not sure of is how exactly it plays out in the show. The show doesnt really go into detail on alot of what happend in Kings Landing prior to Ned getting there. Idk if it's the same.
If I remember right, Ned is the one who let him know in the show. He had a Raven sent out before he was captured. I may be misremembering though.
"You ready to jump into this?"
"Dammit."
Haha yes! Now that's a healthy GoT mentality. You might regret it, but you'll just keep watching! :)
"You look lovely tonight, Lady Stark"
"Shut up!" Hahahahaha!!!!!
I'm not seeing anyone explain it in the comments to you guys so I will try. The part where Rickon and Bran meet up, they are in the Crypt of Winterfell. This is basically where all the Starks get burried. You see it the first time when King Robert comes to Winterfell and the first thing he does is goes to the Crypt with Ned to pay his respects to Lyanna Stark. So when Rickon is down there and says he "saw father last night" I believe he had a vision in his dream (because in the books all Starks can have visions and warg like Bran) and he probably saw Ned's ghost/spirit down there after he was executed.
From what I remember from reading the books (probably been about 10 years now) all Starks can warg. Bran can obviously warg the most, Arya can warg the second most and after that I don’t really know.
@@Whoopdido777 I would kill to have seen Arya warg in the show
@@ln9256 It would definitely be interesting considering what Nymeria has been doing the entire she initially ran away. The show never never mentioned it and only brought her back in I forget season 7 or 8 for about a minute long scene just for fan service, but George actually writes about her quite a bit in the books. What his ultimate plan is for her, your guess is as good as mine, but it would have been cool to see Arya Warg and see Nymeria her pack.
Sorry about all the weird errors in my post. I’m typing on an iPad and for some reason it won’t let me edit or delete my posts.
According to the producers Jason Momoa was the hardest person to kill because he was so fun to work with.
The realm is now in full blown civil war. There are 4 factions;
The Lannisters, have all the power of the Westerlands and can field between 40,000 and 60,000 men in total. However they have already lost thousands when Robb Stark destroyed Jaime's force and liberated Riverrun (his maternal grandfather's castle). They are now in retreat, but still control the crown, the capital and are the richest of all the houses.
The Starks, Rob had 18,000 mean when he set out, but bolstered these with 4000 additional Frey soldiers. He lost 2000 with his ruse at the fords, but picked up a lot more when he lifted the siege of Riverrun (when he captured Jaime). The Northmen are all tough bastards and Robb is a bit of a genius strategically. Robb is the only one who doesn't care about the Iron Throne, he's now fighting for Northen Independence.
Renly Baratheon; Renly likes himself as a king and has many noble qualities, but isn't legally next in line for succession whether you accept that Joffrey is a bastard or not. However he has the support of most of the Baratheon controlled Stormlands, and all of the Reach (the largest most populous of the 7 kingdoms which is controlled by the Tyrells, the family his lover Loras comes from). He has the most men; between 60,000 and 100,000. The Tyrells are the second richest and ambitious family in the 7 kingdoms after the Lannisters.
Stannis Baratheon; Stannis technically has the best claim to the throne and he does know about Joffrey being illegitimate; Ned sent him a message inviting him to take the throne after Robert died. He is an experienced soldier, but is unpopular and lacks the same support as Renley who is more flamboyant, you will meet him next year, he will be a key character.
Of the Great Houses of the 7 kingdoms; 3 are not currently directly involved in the war. The Arryns in the Vale have stayed out of it, (largely because the Vale is run by Catelyn's sister who is a little crazy, and her infant son), The Greyjoys of the Iron Islands (Theon's family; Theon is Robb's friend and was Ned's ward) and the Martells of Dorne (who you haven't met yet).
Hope you enjoy the next season.
Great non-spoiler explanation of the war of the kings in the next season.
You literally left out daenerys and house targaryan
And the Tully’s

"This is like waiting for your seat." What a great analogy.
All of the summer children now watching GoT have an advantage over those of us who watched it at the time...you don't have to wait 9 months for the next season
gahrie Somewhat agree, but the long wait was useful because it gave us time to digest and also go down the rabbit hole in terms of theories. A big part of enjoying this show (for me anyway) is being able to discuss it and try to anticipate what will happen next.
ellystripes, that is spot on the same feeling I have. Started watching back in 2012 when season 2 was out and had to wait for all seasons after, and the hype in between and months before the new seasons was real. its also why when I watch with friends who haven't watched the show, its one episode per week so the excitement gets real! :)
GODS I WAS STRONG THEN
I just watched it this summer and even tho I’m considered a new viewer I love this show so much it’s my favorite and I wished I watched it when it first came cuz I think the wait is the best part and I honestly can’t wait for season 8 it’s ganna be epic
@@yasmeensaleh9050 well about that...
7:39 I agree with Nikki that Robb needs to be humble and cautious. I agree with Steve that it's time to slaughter some Lannisters.
And it drives me nuts.
That shot of Danny at the end is the most powerful scene in history.
I was so upset that Drogo died.

Don't care what people say, Season 1 is the best of GoTs. Not a single scene was a waste and the dialogue.... perfection.
I think season 2 and 3 were the peak. It was the best show/movie ever created. It had everything. That’s why the last few seasons were so disappointing. I honestly don’t know how they destroyed it the way they did
@@kevinwheesysouthward9295 lol right? Seasons 5-6 were bad. Season 7 was embarrassing. Season 8 was an abomination.
@@tidepride86 the thing is, seasons 5-7 would have been a real good show if it wasn’t part of GOT. Season 8 would have been an ok stand alone show. The problem is that seasons 1-4 were soooooo effing good that the drop off makes the later seasons inexcusable. I remember watching from 5, thinking that they were going to pull it back together for the final season and then we got that. I’ve never felt more let down by any entertainment vehicle ever. It all meant nothing. I can’t even get into the earlier seasons anymore because I know it ends under all being meaningless
It's definitely one of the most devastating in terms of character transitions
Season 1 had to set up so much and it did a great job IMO.
“What is it with these riddles woman? What does that mean?” 😂😂
Joffrey is utterly disgusting in the show, but believe it or not book version of Joffrey is so much WORSE.Total effing sociopath.
What else did he do on the books?
@@Aggelos-tv3ep I'm not that far yet in the books but I do know that he also used to terrorise his siblings. Tommen in the books is obsessed with cats. One time Joffrey out of curiosity and some weird attempt at getting his fathers attention (and being a complete psycho) takes one of Tommen's cats that was pregnant and opened the belly (with a knife or sword) took out the kittens and showed it to his father. Robert smacked him so fucking hard.
I haven't read this part yet but I've heard it before that this little story is somewhere mentioned in the books. I'm currently in ACOK (second book) about 300 pages in.

One good thing about being latecomers to GoT. you don't have that nearly year wait for Season 2. :-) In a 7-course meal, first is the appetizer, next season will be the soup. :-)
Oh so many courses...
Such a tasty way of looking at the seasons.
I really enjoyed the soup.

You two are still so sweet and innocent!!! Enjoy the ride!!! I am enjoying your journey! !! :)
Without any spoilers and specifics, Game of Thrones has some of the best tv character development I have ever seen. It's on par with Breaking Bad. I'm very excited to see you witness some of the characters change into almost totally different people throughout the seasons.
Some characters they hate now, they will hate more. Some they love, they will love more. Some they hate, they will love. Some they love, they will hate. And these flips will be extreme in some cases.
Oh man, yes. When I get to think of some characters and their development, I get even emotional. It's simply great.
I agree. Keep the list of three after each season and see what happens!
Hmm sike
Christ this comment didn't age well. Almost all the characters just turn to such fucking jokes.
I need more GOT reactions a day 😭 love your channel!

16:56. "She done told you she was a Dragon!" ......,RFLMAO....😃😃😃😃😃......let's go!!!!!
When Drogon screamed at the first time, it looks like all Westeros can heard it. Outstanding scene, and i will never forget this feeling.
4:03 - 4:54 Catelyn & Robb was never my favorites, but no matter how many times I see that scene with them, I cry too.
I just watched an interview with GRRM, and he admitted, himself, that he didn't plan on putting live dragons in his books. They were only supposed to be legends from days gone by. But, his publisher (or editor - I can't remember which), persuaded him to put them in, so he did. Isn't that interesting?
I love going thru these videos again. 😊🌺🏝️❤️
It's so well done. I feel like we actually didn't see those two on screen together that often, but they have amazing chemistry in this scene. The way Catelyn is staying composed as she walks away from the camp, then finally starts to let her emotions out, but then realizes she needs to be strong again for Robb. The "... kill them all" lines were so well-delivered by both as well. Robb's was coming from a place of anger where he really didn't know what to say or how to express his feelings, and it reminds you that he's still somewhat a child at this point. The way Catelyn follows up on it really drives home how much business she means though.
@@dwilliams02 really they were the starks with the most screentime together

LOLLLLL
Drogo's death was the biggest shock to me. Eddard's WOULD have been, because he seemed to obviously be the main character of the story, but my cousin's husband told me, ahead of time, not to get attached to any characters, and that made me guess Eddard (Ned) was going to die. But Drogo was a huge shock. He just got through giving that big speech about crossing the sea and killing EVERYONE on the other side, then dies from what one tv talk show host joked was "a lack of Bactine". He seemed so important to the story, then just drops like a fly like his character was just an extra or something. *Home Alone face slap*
I'll always love that comment by Lord Commander Mormont: "if we beheaded everyone that ran away from the Wall, then just Ghost would man the Wall"
Lol it's so true, like Ghost is also part of the Watch.

You need to give life to make life: the three men in Daenerys' life died (Khal Drogo, Viserys, and her son), and the three dragons lived.
Christina Kolb no you are wrong... george said that .. that wasnt the reason..
Dany is magic herself so she has the power to do it and the comet help her to increase the magic there..
Because that day died just Mirri...
And before it other men died.. more than just three.
And dany felt the life of her dragons before those deads... the dragons were alive for months.. they werent stone anymore.. since the day dany got pregnant... but they werent prepared to born .. 9 months had to passed by..
And the night the dragons were born... it wasnt just another common night... there was a comet.. and there was fire..and there was dany..
When dany is near the dragons .. the dragons have more power... the dragons are stronger... so it was the precense of dany.. the fire .. the blood and the comet.. which allowed the dragons to born..
But the dragons were already alive inside the eggs for 9 months... rewatch the season and will figure it out that the eggs were already growing inside the eggs
Only death pays for life
Dreamer4ever .eggs growing inside eggs. you sir .. you seem to know it all
The horse was "exhanged" for the still-living Drogo; the animal's consciousness was not sufficient to restore him. Thus Drogo was left catatonic - possessing the brainpower of the animal in a still weakened body. Rhaego's life is exhanged to quicken the eggs. This is why the boy is born malformed with scales, wings and graveworms. He's assumed the form of the long-dead dragons; they've become babies about to be born. Add Drogo and Mirri's deaths; BOOM. Daenerys thinks of her dragons as her children because they are; they were all restored by her own child's life.
Based on the text some believe Mirri's final 'song' was actually a spell to prevent burning (so she wouldn't scream). That magic inadvertently passed to Daenerys, making her 100% fireproof. Lots of Targaryens in history are capable of withstanding extreme heat, like the steaming bath water or holding the burning eggs. But it took some extra magic to make Daenerys fireproof.
Canción De Hielo Y Fuego ...why do you type like that?
Don't know if you heard the guy who took Arya, but he said the Wall was a thousand leagues away... A league is roughly three miles -- which means they have a three thousand mile journey ahead of them!
OH Wow, didn't realize, thank you! - Nikki
Just noticed 3 deaths equaled 3 lives. Drogo, the witch, and her baby equaled her 3 dragons
One of the biggest things I envy about you guys is, after each Sunday night's episode of Season 1, all through the week I was SOOO ready for Sunday night to see the next episode, and when season 1 was over, there was a depressing hole in my brain, knowing it wasn't coming back on for NINE MORE MONTHS! Ha! It’s around 6 for me😇
Steven's reaction when he saw the dragons reminded me of my own reactions at this moment and i couldn't help but laugh at it :D
I always found it hard to blame Miri Maz Duur for what she did. From her point of view the Dothraki took everything from her. She destroyed the greatest khalassar, got her revenge and prevented the prophecy of the stallion that mounts the world from coming into being. As she said, they will destroy no more villages or kill any more people.
It was so good revisiting season 1 with you. You'll love the next seasons as well. It just gets better now.

The king in the north scene was so good
Late to the party, but it seems I can still answer a question from today's prologue!
A course before the appetizer, soup, or salad is called an Amuse Bouche (literally delight the mouth). It is usually no more than that: a single bite of culinary perfection aimed at "awakening the palette" before the meal begins.
Honestly, only the MOST pretentious meals outside of a tasting menu would include this course. (Although sadly, I have designed such a course for my family: Curry Sauteed Scallops)
“I pray that Robb gets his hands on him.” We all did. Damn Freys and Boltons.
I’m so happy you’ve seen the baby dragons! I would give anything to go back in time and relive the first moment I watched that scene! Though I assumed they were a Chekhov’s gun & would hatch when she was given the eggs, and I was certain it’d happen when i watched her put them on the pyre, seeing it was still jaw dropping!
Hm. I might have to use Danaerys’ eggs in place of Chekhov’s gun from now on?
I LOVE the way you start these videos with your sneak peak to your reaction to a pivotal moment.
I think it's implied that Yoren and Co. will just drop Arya off in Winterfell on their way to the Wall. It wouldn't make any sense to bring her to the Wall instead of Winterfell when they have to pass by it on the way there anyway.
Diana Gero Yeah, I'm sure getting her the eff out of King's Landing was the top priority lol.
Your reactions make me feel like I'm watching it all over again! My season 1 faves, and the reason I even continued watching after episode 1 were: direwolf cubs, Ned Stark, and Jon Snow...and Tyrion
As you have finished season 1, I would like to recommend to you watching the Comic Con Panel of season 1. It's fun to watch the cast together in a panel (don't worry, there're no spoilers as it was before season 2 starts).
Did you notice the stained windows behind Vary's and LF?
More symbolism , circle at Drogo's pyre.
Remember, it's a story, a video game and a puzzle all in one.
As bad as it was that Mirri Maaz Duur killed Rhaego(though it was Dany's fault because she knew it was the cost), she was right. Dany was foolish to immediately accept her offer to help Drogo, despite the fact Duur was effectively a slave. Dany expected her to immediately love and revere her for her act, not understanding(or caring)about her subjugation.
Dany was the one who wanted the Iron Throne. Drogo died because she demanded it from him. And, if you really think about it, was it only love that made her try to save his life? Or was it the fact she would have lost his army and thus, her way of taking the Throne?
That's not Dany fault what happened too her though Mirri still is a monster regardless
It was love too also
The part where the witch says "You will not hear me scream" and then Dany says "I will" reminds me of a Monty Python skit. The way she said it is MPython like.
People, stop putting spoilers in the comments! Not fair to these two who are using their own viewing to put things together.
That scene with the dragons being born is by far the coolest thing on television ever!
The king in the NORTH!!!
One of my favorite scenes. -Steven
I'm glad. Sweet summer child. lots of hugs.
I love that the first season really book ends itself: begins with ice and ends with fire.
*Season 1 Favs*

Thanks Fernando lol You're awesome! - Nikki
Fernando lol agreed 😅
Bit of a fun production fact heading into season two. In season one, the stuff in the north, particularly at the wall was shot on a sound stage set. For second season, due to their increased budget they were able to begin shooting production for the wall/north of the wall scenes in Iceland. Which on the one hand made it easier for the actors to immerse themselves in the setting, but on the other hand made shooting alot more complicated due to weather, terrain conditions (ie. moving production equipment in icy/snowy conditions) and available daylight hours (since Iceland had a short number of daylight hours during the season they were filming in).
GOT is great at blurring the lines on bad guys..example that witch with dany..you want to hate her but when u hear why she does what she does you kinda understand
Steven going up to comatose people “Are they alive or not????” Lmaooo
Fire and Blood is the motto house words for House Targaryen. Just like Winter is Coming are the House Words for House Stark. :)
it feels like i'm watching it all over again through you!! this is nice!
Oh my gosh love your reactions! If you noticed each of the 3 dragons had a specific placement and fans have speculated what it means. The dragon on her shoulder represents Drogo who is always by her side. The one in her arms represents her baby that she lost. And the one at her feet represents her brother trying to climb using her. Now of course that's all speculation. And now be prepared for Sansa trying to adjust to king dickbag.
Interesting, I love that about the dragons. Makes me sad about Drogo and the baby - Nikki
It became a daily thing now during the week, where I come back from work and instantly relax and watch this to ease off stress.
Daenerys aka "Mother of Dragons", that's no longer a spoiler. ;-)
Arya was always my favorite .
That final image! Coolest ending I’ve ever ever seen!!! I became obsessed after this. The realism sprinkled with magic is crazy cool!
It’s all about Jon for me, then Dany, Arya, Tyrion, Bran and Jorah.
Yup me also, i was fucking hooked after that scene.
Been watching you guys for the past couple weeks and it's been so great to see your reactions to GoT S1 and I can't wait to see you guys continue with the journey! ❄️🔥 It's important that people don't give spoilers away, try and remember what you were like when you first watched S1 - in which case by the time it ended my 3 favourites were Dany, Catelyn & Tyrion and my 3 least favourites were Joffrey, Littlefinger & Jaime.
Obviously as the seasons go on and characters develop and new ones are introduced etc. we all have different favourites and least favourites but Nikki and Steven are only at the beginning of this. Much love from Scotland 🏴💙
You guys are awesome it just gets better from here, hold on.
I dont like Cat because of her hatred of Jon Snow , that makes me feel yucky. But other then that she's ok .
Good call, not Jon's fault right. She should have been mad a Ned - Nikki
She doesn't actually hate Jon Snow, she just has a really hard time loving him because he keeps reminding her of Ned's unfaithfulness.
It's perfectly understandable, and she even says she regrets it tons, basically saying it's all her fault that things go south for their family.
I only skimmed the comments and didn't see this mentioned, so a quick clarification: Yoren (the Night's Watch guy) is taking those prisoners to the Wall to become new recruits. But remember that Winterfell is on the way to the wall, so that's where he's taking Arya, not to see Jon Snow. Good pickup recognizing Gendry (King Robert's bastard)...most people don't make the connection there first time through.
Thank you! - Nikki
