  • Kershaw, Cook & Talley is currently conducting an ongoing investigation concerning an alleged defect with the Active Head Restraint (“AHR”) systems that are found in certain Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles. Specifically, the headrests in these vehicles are designed to split into two pieces to prevent whiplash injuries in the event a rear end collision.
However, there have been many reports that these headrests are deploying even when there is not an accident. In fact, there are more than 100 complaints on file with NHTSA where it has been reported that the headrests in these vehicles have malfunctioned and deployed unintentionally. There have been reports of injuries and several near misses caused by these unintentional deployments.

Are you still following up on this class action for the Dodge vehicles? I have a 2018 Dodge Journey and this morning we got in the car and the headrest was deployed on the drivers side. We could not figure out how this happened when we parked the car last night on our drive way it was fine. Please let me know at your earliest convenience. Thank you.

This happened in our 2014 Grand Caravan a few days ago. We were driving home from the beach. It struck my wife in the back of her head as she was driving. She has had a headache and neckache ever since. We have an appoint at the dealership on Wednesday 6-24-2020.

Driver side deployed on my wife today for no reason. Her neck hurts also. She was not in any accident. It looks like some of the plastic is broken where it hooks. 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. We filed a claim with Jeep today. If they do not take care of it we are going to pursue legal action. This is super dangerous and my wife was pretty shaken up over this.
