This is lesson one of my complete tutorial - which I call Cricut Kickoff - on how to unbox your Cricut Joy, set it up, connect via Bluetooth on a Mac computer, Windows computer, iPad tablet, and Android tablet, PLUS do the first test cut on Smart Vinyl. Everything you need to know from start to finish, including how to download the free Cricut Design Space software or get it from the app store, and what to do if your desktop doesn't have Bluetooth.

I don’t know how I missed this tutorial. I have had my Cricut Joy for several months and originally set it up on my iPad. I felt I could have many more options If I used my Mac, so watched this video. I had downloaded the incorrect app on my Mac previous to this video. So long story short, I ended up deleting the cricket app off my Mac and reinstalling it per the directions in this video. Now it works perfectly, or at least I hope it does. Thank you so much for all your help!

I know this is silly but just got my joy today and do I just unplug it to turn it off?

I just unboxed my Joy. I have a question and I figured you were the one to ask.
I have a Air 2 when I cut a thicker material I alway cut twice.
After the first cut I just push the cut button again before I hit unload.
Can I do that on the Joy?

This is such a wonderful video! This might be a silly question but o was wondering if you are able to change the devices you use with your sticker joy. For example if o chose to set it up in my desktop and then decide I want to take my joy with me to work and use my phone to print letters

You can use Cricut Design Space with multiple devices, yes. However, Chromebook isn't compatible with Design Space according to Cricut, help.cricut.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009503353-Design-Space-FAQ
please help i bought cricut joy from us but i live outside us i wondering if it will work with 220 v ? can i use the cricut on 220 v? will i need a transformer?

Hi Jennifer, I was following your instructions to create the design space and I got to the pictures of sunflower… I was able to cut it. Logged off, next time I tried to log on by clicking the icon i get the Machine setup green button and below that is Sign In button. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Jennifer, I purchase wrong transfers tape for standard vinyl for cricut joy. I get the stronghold, Can I still work it out?
You will only want to use the stronghold for hard to stick vinyl like glitter vinyl. You will want to use the standard transfer tape for most vinyl.
Hi. Can u have 2 devices set up for Design Space? I use my phone (Android). Sometimes I want to use my Tablet (Android). I only want to pay for Cricut Access once.

Yes! You register it all under the same account.
I was told the cricut maker and the cricut have the same power adapter?
The power adapter that came with your Cricut Explore 3 or Cricut Maker 3 machines is specially rated for its respective machine. I purchased a Cricut joy (2nd hand). The joy doesn't seem to auto-feed the smart vinyl when I attempt to load it. Could the sensor be broken or do you think I did something incorrect with the initial set up?
You have to load it from the device that you are using. There is not a button on the Joy to press.
@@JenniferMaker thank you. I realise there isn't any button. The vinyl won't feed. As in the rollers don't grab it and load it when the time comes for this step.

Yes you can. They make pens just for the Joy.

Are you able to connect to other Bluetooth devices with your computer? Try restarting everything and reconnecting. 😊🌻

There can be tons of options when it comes to computers, laptops, and handheld devices and what works with Cricut Design Space.

This will give you the recommended requirements for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android.

What to do? what to do?....I can't get my Joy to connect. It shows paired in my settings; however, it doesn't show button to connect. Please help.
I would try to remove the Joy from your device and then try to reconnect. You may also need to update your firmware for the Joy🥰

I just got a Cricut, and it keeps killing my card stock... Am I doing something wrong?
Make sure your blade is clean. Use a ball of foil. Push the needle in it a few times. Also make sure you use a good mat and correct pressure. I found if I set the cutting speed to high, it tears the paper.

I already have an Air and a maker. I use my PC for design space. I just got a joy for Christmas. From myself. Great black Friday price. I couldn't get the blue tooth from my PC to connect to my joy. Since there is no USB cord to connect to the computer. It didn't recognize the joy. Yes it was on. I know my Bluetooth works on my computer. It showed my television and my tablet smart view.. I had to set it up on my Android tablet. I can use my tablet to run the joy. But, design space is not usable to create or modify on an Android. Can't use any custom options. Like weld, attach and the rest of that stuff. I don't have any apple products. I have to design on my computer. Save it. Then run the project on my tablet. My computer works great on the big machines.
