When JR was here he promised the local Voorhees school kids if you get A's I'll play street hockey with you... and he did. What a good dude..
Of course he did! Not surprised one bit. There are tons of stories about JR taking care of the fans. Class act!
Always loved JR. My 2nd all time favorite player behind Mark Recchi. I'm very glad i got to see JR play in a flyers uniform. He was a natural fit here.

JR and Mogilny not being in the hall of fame is a joke!!! Brian Burke pulled strings to get his playoff bust soft Sedins in before hand! If you talk to Burke again put the hammer down and hit him with questions why guys with more goals, better points per game are not in the hall of fame before two guys who were no shows in cup finals…Mogilny risked his life to defect to play in the NHL and JR was tough as nails something Burke pretends to love
I agree that JR and Mogilny absolutely deserve to be in before the Sedins, but Burke is just one vote. Who’s to say he hasn’t been pushing for JR and Mogilny also?
Steve Larmer is still not in the Hall either!

I think you mean lightning...Philly lost in the conference final to Tampa the year JR helped them on their run in 2004.

You played with every bit of your heart and soul...like the game is supposed to be played! Thank you!!! Thank you for all the thrills and fun...that OT winner in Toronto....lol. Poor Sami... First of all Hate the Blackhawks with the passion of a thousand suns. That being said JR stepped in and played with this team like he was born here. Great pro, excellent player, and I miss his commentary.

Two Philly guys that are like this... JR and Charles Barkley. Love both those guys, for their work playing and also their strength of character. It takes great character to be able to be so honest about everything.

Cotes last 5 fights were against Gillies, Godard, Laraque, Boulton, and Orr…. Holy cow
As brutal as that game last night was against the wings...the Boys showed some character and Flyer grit! Hartsy was obviously rusty and figured Torts was gonna send him the the showers after the first but...Torts once again makes a good move. Get him the time to shake off the rust and he stood on his head in the OT.
Selly got the fire starter....Ferda! And...the boys responded. They were obviously tired after that Nashville game. Weird game...lots of pauses and arms up. Hard to get any rhythm going in that one.
But...the Boys could have rolled over after that 5 goal shelling in the first last night and got on their heals before the break but....hell no! Not this Flyers crew! They lit the after burner and found a way to grab a point, an important point...when every point is important... And showed the league that the 23-24 Flyers... ain't punks! They ain't gonna role over for anyone anytime! Old time hockey eh! Balls out....Ferda!

Loved j.r when he played in Philly, however he bashed the flyers for sitting yandle and ending his streak, but on the same hand he says players need to be held accountable, but bashes the flyers for sitting a player who wasn't even an nhl caliber player? Can someone make sense of that hypocrisy?
Yandle wasn't NHL caliber? 16 seasons in the league suggests otherwise.
@@Sabotage_Labs in his last season in Philly, no sir he wasn't, he wasn't even worth the 900k contract, and stats and analytically he was the worst dman in the entire nhl amd it wasn't even close, you see that he played 16 seasons and didn't comprehend what I said, yandle AS A FLYER was not an nhl caliber player
@@lesternastoga5013 well listen... At the end of most guys careers, it's not all about what's happening on the ice. To have a vet with 15 years of experience, there's an influence in the locker room and with the young guys. There are tons of players always trying to squeeze out one more season and .. It's tough to let go. But, to call him not NHL caliber, that's a very narrow and myopic view.
Miss JR as a commentator during games. He didn’t hold back, was knowledgeable, entertaining, personable and called anyone out who he felt like was dogging it out there. It’s a shame how PC everything has gotten. Now we’re stuck with diversity and gender quota hires on camera, instead of who’s the most qualified.
Put j.r. in the damn hall already. And don't do him like they did pat burns...
Nolan Patrick had skill but did not perform... Say what you want, whether he had talent or not, he didn't do what was expected of a guy drafted 2nd in the draft. I don't have anything against him, but he WAS a bust.
Philly loves guys that give it all. Pete Rose in baseball, Dr J in basketball, JR in hockey, Bill Bergey in football... all these guys left EVERYTHING +1 on the field. JR left teeth on the ice, broke his jaw... there is no one I appreciate more than JR. Anyone that plays in Philly that tries to emulate these type of players will be loved...

or Pettersson!
