Thank you for covering this horrendous crime! This woman should never be set free for the torture & starvation & hate she intentionally inflicted on her own son. Her case shouldn't have been heard where she used to intern & knows this Judge. I have nothing bad to say about this Judge I just find it a conflict of interest to see she gets the same treatment as others that have sat in her seat. She shouldn't have never been allowed to diagnose herself & testify in the beginning to the Jurors before the Prosecutor stood his ground. And what perfect timing to have this heard right before Christmas where people tend to be a little nicer due to the Christmas season maybe willing to give her the benefit of doubt! If she doesn't get convicted on all counts that will be another tragedy.😢 Ontario, 🇨🇦

Exactly, there's no such thing as stealing food when it comes to someone who is starving. The whole time she was up on the stand I was thinking "wtf is she thinking? Does she really think she can just talk her way out of spending the rest of her life in prison??" She probably did but fortunately the jury saw right through that bs too, as did the judge. When she said "after this happened I couldn't eat for a month" my brain imploded! If she was hoping for sympathy she was grossly mistaken, unbe-🤬-lievable!!

That poor child died thinking nobody loved him and that is the saddest thing to me. I can't imagine how he must have felt wondering why his mom out of all the kids chose to hate only him and even made his brother keep up the torture while she was gone.
He hadn't had a hug, a kiss on his cheek or the caress of a mother's hand through his hair when he wasn't feeling well. Thank God he isn't suffering through daily torture anymore and he can finally have peace.

Same thing happened to me when I watch and followed the Takoda Collins case 💔 Never experience feelings like that for someone I didn't know personally. I feel empathy for all abused kids but learning about Takoda Collins really broke my spirit for months.
@@Shymeen44 I don’t know about that case . I try to avoid getting into these cases with abused children. I raised 5 of my own and I could never imagine any of them being hurt. The Timothy case affected me and the emotions I went through and still are going through has left me so angry and so hurt at the same time. I pray about the anger . I found a few on his dad and stepmom's FB profiles, but why TF did they hand over these children to a woman who could not legally get custody bc she was ABUSIVE? They knew that & they just said, "Here, take them"?? Also, why didn't Eric Ferguson (bio dad) ever check on his kids?? And if he did, HOW did he not know Timothy was being tortured and abused?? I blame them too. Also, grandparents? Aunts? Uncles? Why was no one insisting on some update or contact on this child???

The prosecutor’s closing statement was one of the best I’ve heard. He frickin NAILED it.
She's exactly the same as the mother in "A Child Called It." She focused her abuse on 1 child the same way, until he got free of her. Sadly, this young man will never escape his abuser. She not only KNEW what she was doing, she revelled in it all. I hope she rots in prison.

This case reminded me of that one, as well. I read it years ago when I was a teenager. There were different abuses, but very reminiscent. I cannot fathom the depths of hell these evil women crawled out from. RIP Timothy.
Timothy DID escape his abuser. He is now with God in Heaven, where everyone loves him.
It’s very common for abusers to pick only one child to unleash their rage on. Of course the other children will suffer in different ways, but they’ll pick one child to be the “Scapegoat”.
It could be because the child has disabilities, reminds the abusive parent of their ex-partner, has toilet training issues, behavioral problems, or for no “reason” at all.
The abusive parent(s) will often recruit the other children in the household to dole out abuse as well. It just becomes “normal” for them. It’s sick and can carry on for generations. As displayed in this case.

This case literally made me sick to my stomach. How could she not see that Timothy was near death?? No love, no concern, no sympathy. Even prisoners have a better life and more freedoms than that poor boy did. She needs to waste away in jail for the rest of her miserable life

Not only this case. Case of Jaylin who starved to death. Little girl of 1 year old. Her mom let her alone during 11 days. Her lawyer shook the hands on prosecution side when verdict was read and he was happy.

The day before he died and he was in ice water bath for a whole day. I cant even imagine how much he was hallucinating or god only knows what bc of starvation! Omg ,that poor baby!

Thank you. I have a special needs aunt in her late 80s. I am so thankful that my grandmother didn't give up on her, and helped her beat the odds. This story has infuriated me, because with the right parents these special people thrive.

This case is like the Lacey Fletcher case where she was an autistic woman who was left to rot on a sofa in her waste for over a decade and her parents reminds me of Shanda. The Turpin parents ( who chained some of their kids to their beds) are also like Shanda. So many sick people like that is so sad and disgusting.

As much as they piss me off, at times, STILL, I could never truely hate them, and would do nearly anything for them!! In fact, Im the only one prividing xmas for them, this year, and getting behind on bills, just to be sure that they have presents under the tree! Don't worry. Utilities will stay on, as always. I just have to get in some more hours at work, any chance given, and I do! My point is that there is no excuse for this so called mom! She is evil!!! You don't want your kids? Best prosecutor I’ve seen in a long time. His cross of Shanda was absolutely golden. The evidence spoke enough to find her guilty but the prosecutor, man… amazing.
Did you see how he subtly and brilliantly tricked her into showing the jurors she had absolutely nothing wrong w her memory? It was so subtle, you almost couldn't catch it. He's brilliant! He purposely said, "Timothy weighed 108" (a couple months prior to his death) and she corrected him with, "104." He said, "Oh right, so glad you corrected me! So glad you remembered that. 104..."

I love how everything flows with this Prosecutor. This is literally the worst case of abuse I have seen in a very long time. I have an extremely challenging special needs child. I remember when my sons were in their teens, growing like weeds, and hungry and eating all the time. I can’t even imagine withholding food for even a MEAL, much less days at a time. Normal mothers love to feed their kids. This woman is truly a monster.
What an amazing Lawyer! He did an amazing job and articulated everything poor Timothy had to go through before losing his precious life.

I wanted to get my hands on them like many others. It makes you sick, it hurts your heart, it boggles you mind and infuriates your sense of justice on how 2 people who were SUPPOSED to be willing to give up their lives to protect Timmy from harm, instead would bring harm to him, proving themselves to be his worst enemies.
What she did was beyond abuse, it was horrific torture!!! Starvation is a very painful death!!! He was treated way worse than any animal or prisoners of war & he was a special needs child, her own child!!!!! Pure EVIL!!! I pray they lock her away for the rest of her miserable life!!!!

It’s gut wrenching to think this poor child didnt know what love felt like before he died. And the fact that he was so hungry and lonely and tormented. I know he’s at peace and God has his arms around him. This woman knew exactly what she was doing and she is just the most evil person and I hope she sees his face every night when she closes her eyes. Heart breaking.

It's one of the most difficult questions when it comes to faith, and I'm surely no theologian, but the earth we live on is free will.
Still... I ask myself the same thing too and the next thing I try to reconcile with is two things; and granted, they're just my justification possibilities, but that it sets an example, brings things like this to light, but more so that the soul experience he has after will be nothing, like a blip (NOT dismissing the horror) by comparison to the relief & beauty he now experiences.

How can anyone hate anyone this much, especially their own child. I have lost sleep thinking about what Timothy went thru. It haunts me thinking about him dying alone and starved, and ive never even met him. But that doesn’t matter.
This hurts me personally because I have ADHD and Autism, I can't imagine my parents treating me like that.

This woman went out of her way to make sure Timothy suffered as much as possible. This woman is evil. I can’t call her a mother because she wasn’t. She is a monster.
As kids we are told by our parents there are no such thing as monsters, but this kid's mother is the definition of a monster.
This makes me so mad because that poor child never knew what even an act of kindness was, how sad. They both deserve to be in prison.
Her sentence should be that she receives the exact same treatment she meted out to Timothy and nothing less.

She wasn’t trying to discipline him or lovingly set boundaries for a child with challenging behaviour and additional needs…she tortured him. She didn’t take away a toy or limit screen time…she took away his basic needs.

This poor boy meant absolutely nothing to his monster of a mother. There are no pictures of him yet she has a whole CZcams channel with stories and videos of her DOGS. None of her son. Heartbreaking.

What about Timothy’s father? He knew she wasn’t supposed to be with timothy alone, only supervised visits. He not only allows her have custody, but to also move out of state. IMO, that’s she moved to avoid being found out.
Also, that’s why she could not take the kids to school or even to a doctor, she was looking out for herself!
