      thank you for responding to my comment, I have a question... which finish can i use, to seal my peaces?

      @@viktor5088 Your English is just fine. Don't worry about it. As for the finish....any clear varnish will work just fine. It can be gloss or it can be matt, whatever you like. You can even spray lacquer your project and that will work as well. If you don' want the wood to yellow over time as it can with varnish, just frame it under glass to protect it without the sealer. I hope this helps.

These really are a of fun to do and although you wouldn't' think so, wood burner is a very forgiving art form. It's doesn't take very much artist ability to get great results. Thanks for tuning in sir.

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  Před 4 lety +1

      Carbon paper and Graphite paper are two different things. Graphite, can be erased like a pencil whereas carbon paper cannot. I bought the graphite paper at Lee Valley and the stuff lasts forever. Here's a link for the paper. www.leevalley.com/en-ca/shop/tools/supplies/project-materials/32818-graphite-tracing-paper

    When you said to “shade with the grain not across it it will stick out like a sore thumb “ was that the grain of your picture or of the wood you are burning the picture on to

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  Před 5 lety

      Great question Allan. I was referring to shading the grain on the picture that you are working on. Specifically, the boards on the side of the old mill. Shading from end to end of the board in the picture gives a much more even effect while shading those same pictured boards across their width, would cause too much overlapping and make the shading look muddy and uneven. Thanks for tuning in and for chiming in with you question. If you have any other questions along the way, please don't hesitate to ask and I would be more than happy to help if I can.

      @@charlesmerrifield1734 If you were interested in the razertip system then you would only really need to purchase a shader pen. I believe the system comes with a skew tip and you can pretty much burn anything with a skew and a shader. From there, as you get better, you can always add another pen. Maybe a writing nib or a smaller skew. As you get better, you can keep adding to your pen selection. The razertip is a very nice wood burner. I hope this helps.
