Back in 2012 MOJO music magazine gave a CD away with one of their magazines .... It was a cover of Leonard Cohen's self title LP in my opinion best ever cover all songs classics of which Scott Matthews "Nancy,so long ago"is one 😎👍.
I reserve all respect for leonard cohen, who is untouchable and incomparable to anyone, but i'm compelled to note that i think one of the reasons he wrote this song, (besides the obvious) was so that this fine fellow could cover it one day, but not only to bring to it justice, but it's almost like he also achieves, with his perfect voice, the mood and sound that was originally intended in its birth, and i can claim with certainty that i like this cover as much as the original, dare i say, maybe even more...which is a rare occasion in any case. i feel lucky to have stumbled across this version, which i did have to dig deep for. a treasure indeed.
