    WOW! Really nice vid Rick...TY very much! As a side note you met your wife exactly 2 months to the day that the love of my life passed away. We had 40 years together. I hope you and yours have many happy years together also.

    Well, when I click right click there is no option for saving images. Do you know what's the problem? I've justed all data (place, date, time), get the sky but there is no option for saving the image.

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks for the update. I just logged in and tested it out, and you're right. It looks like Stellarium disabled the ability to right-click to save the image. A regular screen capture will still work for the project, but now it's an extra step. Also, I tried creating a Stellarium account to see if that would enable the right-click feature, but it's still not working. They do mention on the login page that sharing and downloading are coming soon. Thanks very much for the heads-up on this. If you need help on how to screen capture for now, let me know. Happy to help.

      Thanks! I double checked and the font used in this video is Arial. Arial Heavy for the bold text and Arial Normal for the rest. I try to use fonts that everyone already has or has access to for free. Hope this helps!

    Thanks for the tut. love it! I can't get the lattice deformation to work properly. When the move from the center the "circles" don't move from their position the rest of it does. I suspect may be because I do not have the perimeter option.

      @IronEchoDesign  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I know. You could try adjusting the brightness cutoff almost to the extreme in Trace Bitmap. Still not perfect though.

    I've designed the whole thing, now how do I get it printed ? I tried saving it but it just shows a blank page

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  Před 3 lety +2

      Nice work! Here's some steps that may help... 1. Group your whole design. 2. Make sure you see the black arrows and hash marks showing its all grouped and selected. 3. Choose File - Export PNG Image. 4. Export Menu will show up. Choose Export Area SELECTION. 5. Click Export As. 6. Type in a file name on the export pop up, and click SAVE. 7. Most important- Back in the Inkscape Export Menu, you'll see the EXPORT button. You have to click this button to actually make the export happen. 8. Your project is now saved as a PNG file that you can open and print. Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes! Edit: I also have a tutorial on my channel that shows the steps visually if you want to check it out.

    Hello, I did not use right-click, what I suppose to do? 😕

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  Před rokem

      Right click seems to be disabled. You can screenshot the star area that you want to use and the rest of the steps are the same. Hope this helps!

  • @tanalee229
    @tanalee229 Před rokem

    I'm guessing that since they disabled right-click, they really don't want us taking screenshots, either. Brings up an ethical issue for me. It's my mother's fault. : (

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  Před rokem +2

      I'm not sure why the right click is gone. The site says the star data is free to use. They are actually pulling the info themselves from free data sources. I'd still credit them if I used the star chart in a commercial project. Great work on your star map you shared by the way!
