After several hundred hours and countless cosmetic builds in this game, It NEVER occurred to me to try and type in my own values on those sliders. Absolutely brilliant! This changes everything.
That's the best part of the whole trick! It's so simple, anyone can do it.
Amazing! This might be the first "Secret Tricks" video on CZcams that actually taught me secret tricks.
Thanks for the kind words and donation! I'll spend it all on more colors.
Holy , you just blew my mind! 24 minutes of high value information without any fillers. felt like 5 minutes. i was like "oh please do black" and yes,you got everything covered here. thank you, wow!
You're so welcome! It was a super fun video to make and at the end of the day, though we're limited to a few colors, it's exactly the way painted concrete foundations should be! I hope you're able to make something beautiful with these techniques.
@@BEDplaysGAMES Gonna play with a friend when 1.0 is released. im planning to build a modern sterile looking factory with plastic concrete and this new white i discovered here. should look like a clean modern laboratory like factory.

This is great, thanks!
@@BEDplaysGAMESyou are.
For all of the Satisfactory tips and tricks videos out there, this one is the best I've seen, this is crazy useful, thanks for taking the time to publish a video on it.
Wow, thanks for the super kind words! I pour myself into all my Satisfactory videos, but I do have to admit, I thought this one was going to be a real winner. The super simple solutions to creating super vibrant colors is something not often seen around Satisfactory content and I think it'll make a big impact if people start embracing its use.
Thanks for taking the time to comment!
@@BEDplaysGAMES it’s the truth, love your style, already subbed, and I already have a building wrapped in super dark concrete foundations with street lights sticking out, from another vid.
I thought about making videos at one point, then I tried filming and editing and gave up. But learned enough to know that it’s not easy to make a coherent well edited video, keep doing what you’re doing and it will pay off!
@5:43 "I don't know about hue.." Yes you do! You made a whole video about it. ;)
Sorry, bad pun. Thank hue for this, it is really helpful!
Awww, man, it was RIGHT there and I failed to capitalize on that great pun.
The washed out colours on concrete have bugged me since day 1 of owning the game!
Sir, thou art a genius 👍
ha! Thanks for the kind words and I'm happy to have helped! I'm with you, always drove me crazy how dull they were.
Ten minutes in and this is already SUPER useful. I am going to use the white concrete on the tower I was showing you last night. Nice job Bed.
Awesome! I'm glad to help. It's such a fun rabbit hole to explore. All the possibilities.
Tons of satisfactory Videos about decorating factories, but no one talked about this(that i have seen)! Thanks for sharing! This video should blow up!!!
Thanks a ton! I love this tip and I'm happy to share it with the masses.
For someone who has been trying to find a way to add more variations to colours, I thank you so much for this discovery! This was very well done and will be taking advantage of this for sure! Thanks again mate!
Happy to help! I appreciate you taking the time to comment, really helps me out.
This is amazing. I am 3500 + hours in and never knew this. Thank you SOOO much. All we now need is the ability to add more "personal" colors, the ability to group and to rename them. The 16 we get are not enough and I seldom want to re-color my who factory.
You're welcome! I agree with you. More colors and more light colors are high on my wish-list. And thanks for taking the time to comment!
Cheers beds. This will come in handy for my builds. It shall rain colour from the skies 😀
I can't wait to see what you do with it, mate! Cheers!
Mind blown! This changes everything! Ok - it changes colours - but that's still amazing! Thanks!
Colours are everything! Pixel art, fake landscaping, sculptures, skyscrapers, there are so many places I want to use these bright new features, I can't wait to dig in more.
So good. Tips we can all use
I can't wait to see what everyone can do with it.
Color my wolrd.
Thank you.
Amazing...
If only we could copy the colors from a object to another object
plus it would be nice if we could export our colors to a new save. or any save.
Those would be great features!
I could be wrong, but in test 7, I think you could get more hues if you type in the color code manually. Those 6 hues you were seeing correspond to the colors where one or more of the RGB hex values are maxed out. In other words, you'll see "FF" pair in the color code at least 1 time for each of those. I think the slider and preview window might have just been lying to you or lagging.
I'll do some testing and report back!
Great video bruddah. I used the intensity change on white mostly to make them not grey.
Thanks! The black and white are my favorite. They see the most use in my builds.
@BEDplaysGAMES one question i had after watching, what about when you paint on road markings? Does the color enhancement also carry over?
@@WoodrosWorld I'll test right now.
@@WoodrosWorld The markings appear to behave like the painted beams and walls and have max saturation and brightness with any hue selected.
good info to have.. thank you sir
@@BEDplaysGAMES
Thanks for this vid I have been scratching my brain trying to figure out how to get my concrete to the same color hue as my walls.
Happy to help! I love the bright colors!
This comment is partially to help me remember to look at this and partially so someone else might be intrigued enough to look into this.
The satisfactory calculator interactive map save file parser could be used to figure out what is actually happening here. I have some guesses, but if we understood what was going on under the hood, we might be able to further exploit the colour picker
Ooooh, I'd like that. If someone can dig more into the how and why, I'd love to keep exploring this.
Love it, I'm going to be using those whites to show aging on different sections of a build for my next factory.
Excellent idea! When decorating my SF+ megabase recently I added a slightly green tinge to my white walls in the water to emulate algae and ocean grime.
This is really useful can not wait to try it out in my next save!!
I can't wait to see!
wow this is an amazing video! super useful! I have to add this to a playlist to reference later
Thanks! I agree, the concepts in this video are going to help a lot of people.
3000 hours, never knew this! Thank you!
I couldn't believe it either. You're so welcome!
Game changer! Thanks for the discovery.
Happy to help! Thanks for the comment!
I always think of those darker "warm" as Slate... "Blue Slate Gray" and such...
I like that. They'd make some really nice floors.
This information needs to be shared as fast as possible so Coffee Stain has no choice but to accept its existence as normal gameplay, instead of a bug.
I think so! That's why I made the video. Thanks for taking the time to comment, I appreciate it!
It’s definitely a bug though. If I had to guess, for the duller colors they apply a multiplier value to the S/L values (btw this color representation is referred to as HSL, you were so close!) they never expected people to put in values above 1 though.
Hypothetically, let’s say the duller foundation color has as multiplier of 0.5. So if S is 1, then the duller color is 1 * 0.5. But if you put in 2, then the duller color would end up being 2 * 0.5.
The same thing probably applies to all the colors for whatever model, explaining why sometimes white isn’t white unless you start bumping up the values.
But I agree they should keep it as it’s neat.
finaly its here, Satis + YYYYEEEEESSSSSS, thx for the vid Mr Bed, interresting
Thanks! I'll work on a SF+ video next!
Super cool guide thanks!
You're welcome! Thanks for commenting, I really appreciate it.
4:55 You can only see the difference when you have a brightview monitor or a plasma TV. All other monitors fail to show the actual color difference.
I have a HP 2159m monitor and when I simulate your video here, I can clearly see the difference up until 9. 10 and above are not visible for me, might be my eyes.
But.. on a 2008 42 inch Plasma TV, I can see the difference between 9 and 10.
For my gaming and DAW stuff (yes, I am a music producer), I use two identical 29 inch UltraWide monitors and there I can only see a difference up until 6.
Thanks so much for the info! I'm curious so I'll try and dig up a plasma tv to watch it on.
You're the second audio engineer I've met in the last week. I was picking the other guy's brain about other DAWs and tools to use. In fact, this video was the first time I edited my audio and video in Da Vinci resolve, then exported my audio to Reaper DAW to use their noise reduction tool. The tool completely eliminates all my background noise, but I noticed it did give me a tinny sound on my voice in some parts. I decided to publish anyway, but I'm still trying to balance the tools I use to get the best audio/vocal I can for my videos.
I have been disappointed with color on concrete ever since it came out. This changes everything
Excellent! I hope you enjoy it and build something fantastic.
Thanks BED, helps a lot
Happy to help! I can't wait to see what you come up with. Thanks for commenting!
Amazing :) Thnx helps alot
You're welcome! I hope you're able to use this to build something amazing!
This solves 90% of my complaints about Satisfactory building customization, amazing discovery
Excellent! What are your other 10% of complaints? Maybe I can solve those, too!
10k by the end of the year? High goal, and I sadly can't do anything to help because I already subbed... But honestly, this is an awesome test video! Maybe a change in the title could lead to more attention!
Just watching and interacting with the videos is a ton of help. Always appreciated. I wonder what other kinds of tests I could similar to this.
Awesome 😍 I hope I can make use of it in the future
I hope you do. I'd love to see what you can do with it.
Awesome. Was wondering how to get rid of the highlighted edges. Did try to play with the sliders but didn't get it right. This should help heaps. Thanks.
You're very welcome! I'm happy to help.
I'm new to this channel. Oh, man, your singing in the beginning of the video is pretty seek!
Also, love this game, got hundreds of hours of playtime in it.
Thanks and welcome! I commissioned the wonderfully talented Otu from Moonic Productions to sing that bit for me. Check him out on youtube!
Over 3000h and I'm seeing this for the first time. Thank you!
You're welcome! I hope you're able to do something awesome with this, and if you do, let me know! Thanks for commenting.
Awesome video!
Thank you so much!
For me it's working great on the foundations and pillars. However, I'm not seeing any difference on the concrete walls. Nevertheless, it is a great trick! Thank you!
You're right! I should have added a note that it doesn't seem to work on concrete walls. I'm hoping someone finds a way to get it to work!
alright so now i need to build a blue print prepainted to use as a pallet when im painting
That's a great idea. Premade palettes with complementary colors grouped together with their HEX codes on signs...you've inspired a wonderful video idea.
4:28 I'd say that it looks like extra coats of paint.
6:45 Intensity 5 and 6 looks the same to me.
"Two thin coats!" That's the mantra for painting minis anyway.
Nice one!
Thanks! I appreciate you commenting.
THIS ISM LOOKING FOR!!
Go forth and color!
Fascinating.
I hope you can do something interesting with it!
@@BEDplaysGAMESMaybe in the future. I am only about 200 hours into the game. I have been using the Tango color scheme. So if I change these values the color scheme is lost. But this is good stuff to know for sure. Especially if I want some solid colors. The concrete shading always bugged me.
This is great, I'm gonna use it. I sadly discovered that it doesn't work on concrete walls though :/
I've noticed that. I'm hoping someone out there figures a way to get that to work.
Sinclair called, they'd like their Spectrum logo back.
Snutt, if you're reading this. Do not fix this. #feature
Who doesn't need more rainbows?!
wow this is very intresting
Thanks! I hope you make something cool with color.
❤
Hearty, Farty.
man this is such novel information. cheers mate.
I hope you find it useful! Thanks for commenting.
i just wish this tutorial could've stayed in the dark.. discovered it about 1k hours ago and already couldnt stand those neon factories everywhere where brightness and saturation is always maxed at 1-1 instead of lowering to a more natural tone.. imo just useful for black coated concrete foundations and pillars.. lots of new comical factories incoming!
I'm not so cynical. I think we'll see a lot creative use of color and not ugly neon factories. But I may be wrong, I love ugly neon.
I wonder if does also change light and signs
This used to work with signs. You could increase the intensity super high and it'd be blindingly bright if you looked at it. That appears to have been corrected in a patch. I don't think it works for lights either. And you can't get vibrant color on concrete walls, either.
Aw man. 2nd again
Yeah, very few beat Farty.
!!!!!!!!!!
Yes!
I just tried it with hologram colours, now I'm blind
Oh awesome! I'm going to include this in a color Part 2. Thanks!
What the heck are holograms in SF??!!
