Always love seeing your progress. The stories for the arches are adorable. Could you imagine someone a 100 years from now trying to decipher the meanings of the motifs? 😅 Hopefully the designer's chart survives the test of time for someone to read through.

A lovely bag of goodies from Acorn and Threads. The fabric you received from Cedar River Linens is amazing and dyed by Jody of Trixie Tricycle. She has a FlossTube and is an amazing stitcher and just a very cool person. She was part of the “bad” table at Stitch North with Ellen, RyRy, Xan, Betsy, Gwyneth, and I. We had a great time, someday I will share with you all the stories. I love Vicky Clayton Silks and I cut and put on floss drops. I love seeing that you are using them. Thank you for sharing. Love the video. When I get a colored pattern, I take it to our copy shop and ask them to enlarge it 10 % and turn it to black-and-white white. I love your long dog and enjoyed the story behind the stitching. You do such a good job at the videos so thank you enjoy every minute.

Hi Winston, oops I mean Andrew. He is so cute, he looked like he was posing for the camera. When I saw you had a new FlossTube I got a little excited. I always love watching your videos. Your progress on all your WIPS is great. I especially like all your pretty ladies. I might have to check into the Lia Studio’s Quakers with the Vicky Clayton silks. I am stitching Summer Quaker by Primrose Cottage and it’s with a Dinky Dye silk and I’m in love. First time stitching with a silk and it glides through the fabric like butter. I’m glad to hear that you are keeping up with your training even though it is so hot and humid🥵. As always looking forward to your next FlossTube 💖

Hi Andrew! I only stitch in hand. To take care of the extra fabric I roll it up and use quilters clips on each end of the roll. I also do the same idea on the sides.

Hi Andrew! You are right, the Bee Queen paper pattern is a challenge to read, i did the top of her dress and omg, not easy. But, it is worth it to stitch, she is so pretty.
Ok I'm glad I'm not the only one who had that issue! It's quite a tough pattern to read. I think if I get the PDF I'll enjoy the stitch like I had hoped! Happy stitching!
I understand your concern carrying thread such a length. I tend to have it on hold and weave it through the stitches to the next time I need it. Hope this helps. I am enjoying your videos and I am also gaining information and help from you.😊

Nice progress Andrew! Loved seeing Winston. Your birthday is the same day as my wedding anniversary. Tonight while watching you I worked on Yellow Submarine from Blackbird Designs. Thursday is my birthday and I'm going to start the Deadly Aquarium. I have Vicki Clayton silks but haven't used them a lot. When I have I just put it in a floss away bag like I do with my kitted up DMC and use it off the bobbin its on. Take care.

I'm behind in flosstube, but loved watching your very productive update! An unsolicited suggestion for your Long Dog if you do start to run out of margin - one option might be to split the pattern in a natural break between the rows, leave lots of space, then resume below where you have equal margin on both sides, cut the fabric in that break, and then frame it in a double-matte frame where it looks like two different scenes. I'm not sure if I explained that very well....but I'm envisioning a diptych with top and bottom portions...😆
That's actually a great idea for getting around the potential issue! I think I'm going to be ok on margins now that I measured, but good suggestion! Thank you!
Hi Andrew. Im dtill suffering with sciatica unfortunately so not back to running as yet. I love rumning in the rain. I find it cools me down especially in the summer. Pleased yr rinnings going well. Love yr lily in the woods and belka Filipina sal. I love the Quakers too from lila. I want yo do them in the future...well i want to stitch everything to be honest. 🤣😂 Winston is s cutie. Hey Andrew! Greetings from Dallas!! Another fun video and it was great to see Winston, too. Another alternative for The Bee Queen issue is to go to your local Kinkos or Office Depot/Max and have the chart enlarged. That should only cost you maybe a couple of dollars. Cheaper than getting a .pdf of the chart. I have had to do that on a couple of charts myself. Love how everything is coming and your planned stitches. Really enjoying watching you stitch Saga. I have a couple of Long Dog Samplers but haven’t gotten up the courage to stitch them yet. I tend to be a monogamous stitcher so something like that would definitely be a commitment! LOL!! Stay cool! It’s 101 here in Dallas. Oof!!!!
Oof is right... you definitely have it hotter in Texas than we do here in NY! It's just too hot ha. That's a good idea about having the pattern enlarged and I might try that. Long Dogs are really great patterns and stitch up quicker than you would think without having to change colors! But they are BIG haha. Happy stitching!

No worries at all! It's a busy time of year for sure haha. Gaia has been wonderful to put some more work in. I'm definitely at a place with her now where I want to keep going (which is good!). Hello Winston you are adorable.I love the Bee Queen splashed out and purchased the chart. Thanks for the tip as I have not started her. Back stitch the moon in a complementary colour. As I mentioned I started Saga using DMC 975 which I love until I saw DMC 4522. I am debating starting afresh. I work in a hoop so the progress is slower. Look forward to seeing your progress. I don't know if Danielle made this choice on purpose but when I saw the color Embers, I immediately thought of the now closed gay bar Embers in Portland, where I went a bunch of times when I lived there. I might join for the lighthouse SAL. I know I have one lighthouse that I'm working on, but it is already complete. I'll need to see if any of my other pieces might have a lighthouse. If not I know my Lord of the Rings piece has the Dark Tower (the tower with a flame eye). Is that considered to be a light house 🤣
Thanks Yoshi!! haha well... it's relaxing when I actually figure out what to stitch hahaha. Dark Tower is totally a house with a light so I'd say it counts? lol. Or you could just work on the piece with a lighthouse even if that part is already done :).
For SAGA, I would do a running stitch down the sides or maybe a straight pin every 10 or 20 stitches so you can see exactly where it will end. I would definitely want to find out ASAP if there's enough room for it to all fit. I hope the sides are ok and that top border is the worst of the crookedness! And when I stitch in hand, I usually just roll the fabric up from the bottom (sometimes from the side depending on where I'm stitching) and hold it that way. I've tried using the magnetic ties or the little silicone spool holder thingies to keep the fabric contained, but it usually loosens up in those. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. 🤔 Oh and Alex, Erinn, and I are going to start Halloween Quaker at the end of this month! You're welcome to join us then (or whenever you want to start it). I think it was just posted on the crossstitch_salendar account. Happy stitching!

for the Bee Queen, before you buy the pdf, try taking a picture of the pattern and loading that into Markup - I'm doing that for one of mine and it works pretty well. It just takes a bit of effort to add the dmc #'s to each symbol, but I just do it as I come to them. Good luck!
Hi Jade! Thanks for the tip! I did try that with Markup but I think because the pattern is in color and it's so small/hard to read the symbols that markup had a very hard time recognizing anything. However, I put it into Goodnotes so now I'm at least able to zoom in and highlight where I need to :). That'll work for now ha. Happy stitching!

I stitch in hand and I’m stitching on a soft evenweave. I have the magnetic frames that people are using on their Mill Hill kits. It’s small and it doesn’t keep the fabric taut, but it does hold the area you’re working on making it easier to stitch

I’ve been keeping the VC silks on the spools for Halloween at HRH, but I think it might start to get messy at some point. I’m by no means an example to use for floss organization as you know. 😂
Art Bin makes bobbin storage cases that work well for the spools.
haha! I'm the same which is why I thought I'd ask around. I don't mind the chaos for a small Mill Hill, but I feel like Halloween Quaker will take me a while and I'd like it to be more organized if possible haha.

I really love ur "thread a day" idea... i have a wip in mind that could really benefit from doing that myself but its so hard cuz i seem to get hyperfocused on 1 wip until i get kinda burnt out w it and move onto another one.
Im a paper pattern girl, but im not a fan of those color charts so i feel ur pain there! Id much rather the symbols just be in black and white...much easier for my eyes to understand plus i highlight as i go and it doesnt show up on those color patterns so it makes it easier to make mistakes.

Hi Andrew! Your projects are beautiful! On your Saga project, you could just find where your furthest stitch on the left is and just do a running thread down that side to see where you'll end up rather than having to do cross stitches. It's amazing how far you've progressed on that one! Love seeing Winston❤

I think you can bring your bee pattern into Kinkos and they can help you make a copy that will be bigger and work for you. It may end up being around the same price as the pdf anyways.

I would contact Tiny modernist and explain the problem with the pattern you bought. You could ask if she has a black and white pattern you could get from her. Designers are very helpful. I love your mermaid stitching. I will look for my comfort lighthouse pattern and try and get it kitted up.

Hi Andrew and Winston! A funny story for you: a while back when you were stitching that pattern that looked like Winston, I wasn’t listening very well, and I thought it was a memorial piece. Then a few episodes later, there he was, and I yelled, “Winston! He’s alive!” at my tv. Ha, ha, ha! Great stitches, as always. Keep us posted on Saga and if you have enough fabric on the sides! It’s looking so good with that blue thread. I used the Vicky Clayton silks right off the spool and then coiled up any little ends and kept them in one of those thread keepers with the little flannel pieces inside. But I think if I use them again on a really big project, I’d try putting them on floss drops next time. Either way, they’re a DREAM to stitch with. Enjoy!

Love your projects! Cant wait to see the reindeer as it comes along. I was wondering, where did you find the clamps holding the fabric to you Q Snap?
Thank you! I am excited for the progress on the reindeer that you'll see next time! So the clamps that were on the reindeer piece I found on tapestry market (when I first started stitching). They are nice, but my only complaint with them is they are heavier, so they add weight when trying to hold the qsnap. I honestly probably wouldn't recommend them ha. I hope that's helpful!

That is a long one haha! Yeah I probably wouldn't recommend these with the weight, but if I find an alternative I'll keep you updated!

If you have a massive frog project, what do you use?
Apologies, I'm not sure I understand the question. Do you mean if I have a big project where I need to frog a lot of stitches?
Yes
Thankfully I haven't had to frog any large sections yet, but so far I just use a needle and scissors ha. I don't have anything specific to frog out stitches. Sorry if that's not helpful!
