Red X was actually a really intriguing story. It's a horror novel about the AIDS epidemic in Canada and the creeping fears associated with losing people close to you to unseen force.
Lovecraft Country is fantastic. Great discussion about how you can know an author is kinda a monster and still sorta love their stuff.

I usually don’t say this but I never understood the hype for Grady Hendrix. My best friends exorcism felt like a YA RL stein book trying to be an adult book. It was so juvenile to me, and I feel that way about all his books. I think he is horror but camp horror. I also house in needless street was underwhelming for me. Chasing the boogeyman was so damn boring! I have Brandon Massey but I have not yet read any of his stuff yet. Im reading a Priory of an orange tree which I loved- 40 pages left! PS thanks for making me smile today!
I love Opposite of Always. Such a cute black teen joy book with hard hitting topics. I cried as a 30yr old. I wish I had that type of rep as a teen.

Red dragon by Thomas Harris is an alright book I suggest watching the 1986 red dragon movie ( now called manhunter) it is word for word from the book.

I bought 20 books and three the other day, I have a problem.
Coles had a sale lots of 3,4,5 dollar books. Awesome price considering on the inside the original prices were like $25 + $35+. How does that happen, do the books suck and they're trying to get rid of them.

I was so incredibly underwhelmed by The Girl From Widow Hill...you're not missing much.
I read The Death of Jane Lawrence last weekend, and I'm seriously so torn on whether I liked it or not. It's a weird book with a super weird ending.
Also, not to be a super weirdo, but I would honestly love to buy your copy of House of Hunger. I'm so interested to know what stuck out to you about that book and it was one of my faves from last year.

The Girl From Widow Hills by Megan Miranda wasn't great in my opinion. Good idea poor execution. I've enjoyed others by her over this one.
Thank god you’re getting rid of jar of hearts. I enjoy a good fucked up book , but this was so fucked up to the point where I hated it. Plus The ending was way too predictable, I just hated it and I know you would too so good for you not wasting your time on it.
Eight Perfect Murders was sooooo boring, can't fault you forgetting rid of it.
