So happy youre uploading more regularly again, even if its just little things.
thank you, incel destroyer
All hail the mighty incel destroyer! :3
Incel Destroyer, can you save us from Belle Delphine return?
@@Txur_Itan I second this
I agree
There’s something about the GBC that always had this comforting feeling for me . It’s so simple yet I love it
GBC was my first system. Mine was pure purple.
Its all fun and games until you lose the damn thing and find out the batteries in the back EXPLODED sometime within the span of over a decade, and you find it years later with dried acid on the back.
into the trash compactor it went sadly... such is life.
I think it just feels good to hold it and play my favorite games bcoz huh why not
I was around for the original gameboy lol. I was able to buy 1 almost brand new looking besides a small smear on the screen A few months ago with 6 games some classics too like NBA jam...Zelda....Mario and 3 others . Got the original carry case as well all for 10 bucks . Even growing up in the beginning of Nintendo...I think the ds is the best overall handheld as far as games goes. But the gba comes in 2nd for sure .
For some reason the lettering of "COLOR" gives me a nostalgia rush
“Maybe someday when I’m finally stable” is the whole millennial mood ;_;
I definitely feel some of this. As a kid I was the only person I knew who liked and talked about video games until I was in 8th grade, so I had to either do my own research and bought a lot of weird stuff along the way, or miss out on a lot of stuff that everyone now is like "this is required gaming." Now that I have my own money I've been trying really hard to go back and pick up things that I wanted as a kid but never had the chance.
9:38 "Intellectual Tama plays ecchi games for the novelty"
i feel attacked by this strangely relatable content
watching this video was comforting to me in a weird way. retro games are a safe place to me- can't explain how wonderful it is to sink into my old games and just relax. but navigating how to find and obtain older games and consoles? an absolute nightmare to my abnormal little brain! i end up adding maybe one or two games to my collection a YEAR- and i've never worked myself up to looking for a console i don't already own. just seeing and hearing about so many old games collected is wonderfully comforting in a way i don't get to often experience
My town has a lot of places where old games are sold. The ones near me have so many retro consoles in there and I was able to find a Japanese copy of Pokemon Red and Japanese Kirby's Dreamland 2 both for 20$.
It may be hard to find where to look, but once you find them, then they seem to always have new stuff!
It’s interesting seeing all the neat gameboy color games and accessories, coming from my perspective of starting with the gba. I look forward to seeing more of these collection videos!
"I think I traded [one of those Rugrats games] to a kid for Donkey Kong Country on the Game Boy Advance"
You are a con woman. Well played.
Ah man, that moving all the time thing you said really hits home. It's so stressful collecting retro games and consoles and having to think about what you're going to do with them when you move next
tamashii !! to this day i dont think there's a youtuber ive ever felt more at home with then you. to think ive been watching your videos since i was a confused and extremely nerdy 8 y/o girl. now at 15 and much more jaded but still extremely nerdy i still find myself coming back to your content and am still in such awe at how detailed your videos are, though they still have so much emotion ! you really subtly express the feeling of playing games, their appeal, the technicality etc while retaining the sense of sentimentality in a way most people cant really communicate without it seeming exaggerated. i just love how human and down-to-earth your videos are to watch.
before i began watching your content, alienation was a given and your videos really helped me cope with the difficult aspects of being this strange and bullied kid who was obsessed with pokemon and sailor moon.
i think your gfg video to this day is one of my favorite videos ever, but that could be said about all your videos.you're a wonderful creator and ill always look up to you
Oh wow my first console was the DS (I was in 3rd grade) so seeing all the GBC stuff is like peeking into a whole other world that I never experienced. I think it’s really fascinating. Like the batteries for the memory of the game? I didn’t know that was a thing! Anyway I really enjoyed this little video and I admire how you care for your collection
Every time you talk about Pokémon Silver, Crystal or Gold in your videos I feel the urge to play them again, you’re so great at pointing out their greatness ☺️
The font in that Hamtaro game looks really nice.
“Wario Land is one of my favorite platformers on the system and is really underrated.” Like button smashed.
It is very intriguing seeing all these hidden Game Boy Color gems you have, Tamashii. I am seeing some games that I didn't even know existed!
It’s so great that you’re posting more, you were kind of a role model for me when I was younger and I love your content
2:25 The best game to have permanently in a GameBoy Color. I approve.
It may be a smaller collection than most youtube nerds' ones but the white shelves and the way it's organised make it pretty nice looking.
Also I get what "cheap collecting" is. I got a Japanese Red for 10€ at a retro convention one because "it's just Pokémon red, why charge more".
I love game collections like these. Yes, it’s cool seeing people with a million shelves lined with all the greatest games, but smaller collections tend to have more character and reflect on games you played when you were younger/less in tune with collective gaming opinions
When she showed her collection of early Pokemon games, having an english and japanese cartridge of most of them, I thought to myself "Oh, she needs a japanese copy of Blue."
Then I remembered.
I was about to ask u what u meant but then I realised and felt a bigger fool
Can you elaborate because I don’t remember 🧐
@@djhero0071 The original titles in Japan were Pokemon Red and Pokemon Green. When the games got localized, Green was changed to Blue.
@@CosmicNebula444 But, uh, Blue did come out in Japan; it's the version that the localized games are based off of. In Japan, Red/Green came first, then Blue as a definitive edition/bugfix version, then Yellow
@@Moggetslittlesister i though blue and yellow both released in japan
Yo I’m so jealous of your collection! Looking through all your old collectibles made me so nostalgic for old tech games. They were so unique. Thank you for sharing this! 🙏🏼
Do my eyes deceive me, tamashii is back!! What joy!!!! Its good to hear your voice again. Love the collection it's so unique and amazing.
Now I feel like becoming a DS game collector.
Goodluck finding a legit HGSS with PokéWalker.
Had a hardtime finding one. On Ebay it's already on $100+ and thats just the Cartridge, no box or anything at all.
I've started watching your videos yeeaaars ago and just got back to it, I'm so happy that you kept your heartwarming style!
How dare you make me feel nostalgic and want to spend all my money on a million Game Boy Color games I don’t need
I’m glad you gave some love to Wario Land 1. It’s still one of my favorite platformer games.
Cozy vid 👌
It’s great seeing you upload again! Your videos have always helped me get away from everythint
I thought the way that you described the fleeting nature of the retro gaming experience to be fleeting in an almost Alzheimer-esque way really beautiful, and incredibly sad. You’re thoughtful, and I’m so so sooo glad I’ve been able to enjoy your videos of the last 7 years.
Tama I've been subbed to this channel for I don't even know how long and I have to say, it is fantastic to hear from you again and even better to see your content evolving in new directions. There's something so special and so satisfying about being able to grow with and alongside the media in one's life and I'm really glad I've gotten to do that with your channel. If that make sense
I love that you are rolling out content on youtube again !!!
I really love collections like yours where everything has a little story about how or why or where you got it- it's just so cozy and comfortable haha. And kinda inspiring for my own collection in a weird way!
Love your collection, so simple but full of such little nuggets. Also yeah, some boxs is better than no boxes for displaying imo, even if the box is near to falling apart in some ways
Holy crap I'm early!!! It's so cool you're uploading more regularly again, give us something to watch while stranding inside 💕
This is actually so wholesome, I love it! This has actually inspired me to rummage through my stuff and get my own, albeit, small collection in order. Thanks for bringing back so many memories of when I had (still do) my GBA, sadly not most of my games anymore but at least a few!
You've got an awesome collection. I'm not a game collector, but my brother is. I've been calling him the "Collector" and we store the wonderful history and new world of gaming in the "Vault"(his other room XD). So, each time I find a cool guide, genuine boxart, or buy a new game, I eventually give it to my brother for future playing or newer generations. So, I find it awesome that your doing your own part in saving the wonderful history of gaming :)
I'm happy you're still around Tamashii! Been a fan since I was in middle school. Crazy how time flies.
This was like the equivalent of comfort food to hear old nostalgic tunes and see these old guys. Thanks so much for sharing!
Nice! It's pretty interesting to see your GBC collection to see what else was out there.
Holy crap, NOW I remember where I know your voice from; that Completionist pokemon video you guys did years back. It's cool seeing all of y'all still making quality content.
I’ve been watching your videos since I was a freshman in highschool. You’re stuff always brought me a little escape from the stuff around me. I’m glad you are uploading again :) it brings me back to those small moments of happiness. :)
This video appeared in my suggestions and I'm glad to see someone with a collection like this. I have a few random weird things myself and you just inspired me to work on that collection more, as well as inspired me to want to move the Mew in my Japanese Pocket Monsters Akai into Virtual Console games, and then into Shield. So cool to see another like mind out here. Keep doing what you do!
Thanks for sharing Tama!! This was really cool.
We'd love to see a follow up video about your other console collections too, great video!
Idk why but your channel randomly popped into my head and decided to revisit nostalgia
14 years doing gaming content, and still making awesome videos. Respect!
I really appreciate the relaxed aesthetic your videos have. It's a quality hard to find, especially in the Pokèmon YT community. I look forward to your uploads :)
Great video! Glad to see more of your content! Wish I kept more of my older gaming stuff in good condition, but now I appreciate more of my current games and consoles. Pretty cool to see older tech ❤️
I really like not only seeing some interesting oddities (I had no idea Pia Carrot had a GBC port and seeing complete-in-box games especially is always a joy) but hearing about your individual experiences with each game. A lot of people have said that this video feels cozy and I couldn't agree more. I'd love to see more of these for other consoles if you ever want to try more short-form stuff between video essays! :D
Everything looks so amazing. For real you got some rare gems and seeing all the Pokémon carts made me feel so happy.
I wasn't alive in the GBC's heyday, but there are so many strange oddities and good games on the system that sound interesting to me. It's crazy how you own many variations of the same console too! I have a really strange and unusual video game related collection myself (random Pokemon toys, games for consoles I don't have, Capcom figurines, Chicken Shoot, etc.) and loved seeing that I wasn't the only one with this kind of collection.
Also as a side note, the Sailor Moon stuff is really cool.
nice video as a guy who still loves playing handhelds to this day I appreciated the heck out of it and even though I find myself replaying the game color games the least cause I prefer the advanced or ds games it is still really cool to see your enthusiasm for them I'm looking forward to the next video and props for putting out another video so soon
Your gameboy color collection is amazing, I remember back when I got Pokemon Silver during my childhood, looking back to it I regret throwing the box away. This video was a trip down memory lane, thank you for making this vid
Glad to see this channel make a comeback
It's kind of sad that so many new games are only digital releases, or that's how people mainly buy them. People won't be able to get a collection of games like that anymore, we'll just have old systems and the goofy accessories sitting around.
I still remember going into a pawn shop-like store where they also sold a lot of games and consoles and whatnot when I was like 5 or 6, and my parents bought me a teal GameBoy Color, Pokemon Silver, Metroid II: Return of Samus, and Tetris.
Sadly I don't have any of them anymore, but I've been trying to slowly get some more stuff like that from when I was a kid, and I've gotten Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Crystal, so I still feel super nostalgic when I play those.
Great video. Loved it. It so cool and cozy to get a look through all your games stuff :)
I'm glad you showed us your collection!!! Retro games always have a special place in our hearts
This was wonderful. Thank you for sharing!
I recently went through and replaced the shell on my GBC for the shits and giggles and also found a random copy of Monster Rancher. I don't think I ever played it lol
Weird Game Boy collection? Sign me up.
2020 was looking to be a bleak year, but it is now mildly improved knowing Tama is making regular videos again!!
1:20 That Mr. Mew plush is soooo cute!!!
I always find it interesting hearing your voice being abit deeper,Your voice used to be so soft (Been subbed ether 2012 or 13) and no it's surprisingly deep. It's like re visiting an old friend you haven't seen in a long time
this reminded me of the old collection site you used to have >.<
really good to see you're still uploading stuff and all, been watching you for like 12 years at this point since i was 6 lol
I am quite envious of your collection. Game boy is quite the nostalgic handheld. And classic game is so unique and special. Very cool that you can enjoy it.
This video came at a great time for me, I am just about to move into an apartment with some friends and I have been going through all my gaming stuff deciding what to take and what to leave with my parents or sell .. seeing your awesome bookshelf is inspiring! My collection isn't huge but I'd like to display it like that at my new place kinda like that.
This is great! Thank you for the great content!
Awesome video Tama!! The first video I believe I ever watched from you was your Pokemon collection one you did years ago, so it’s so nice to see you showing your collection again!! I used to look at your collection site over and over!! After watching your video I wanted to look into getting a Monster Brain or the GB USB thingy, but I looked on eBay and they were so expensive!! I also love that you have some neat import games!! I love getting import games myself, but I unfortunately don’t know Japanese!! I am going to try to learn it on my own as it’s not offered in school for me so I can enjoy these games without a translator or bring familiar with their English counterparts!! I love your content so much!!
This was a wonderful video and strangely validating in a sense. Like, ‘oh I’m not the only person/girl who does this’. Look forward to seeing and learning more
I used to watch your videos when I was little, but forgot about them for a while. Yesterday I was considering buying a gameboy cartridge in Japanese, but wasn't sure if my English gameboy could play it. I then remembered that you might of made a video on that subject, so I tried looking it up. Couldn't find your channel, so I looked up "pikachu draw my life", as I remembered you as the girl who wore the pikachu hoodie. Anyways, I'm glad to be back :)
It's so nice to see your passion for games! I didn't grow up with it (my first console being the DSi if that gives you an idea) but I still play my $15 GBA that I picked up like 3 years ago. My games are hand me downs but so far Pokemon Emerald is my favorite and I've made a dent into Pokemon Red. Anyways your videos are great! Now you've got me wanting to buy some cheap Japanese games to hopefully expand my skills haha
ahhhh i love this! i'm similar in my pursuit for old games, even now :)
i really like the idea of the lunchbox as a storage box!!
I feel like i'm currently in this phase of my life with Gameboy Advance games and especially collecting the gen 3 games and different translucent shell consoles, god help me when I move out.
Same, I tend to just buy random GBA games whenever I find a stack of them at a used shop.
A have a massive stack of them just lying in a drawer next to my bed and I frequently play Sonic advance and Megaman Battle network 3.
@aIysdexia Fantastic
thank you for sharing Tama
Love your collection! Pokemon Red was the first video game i ever bought for myself!
I think that the pinball copy on the left (with the more faded E rating) might be your original one. Back in the day, that faded E was the “logo”, but they updated it sometime after. Great video!
wonderful video! loved it!
I was beaming seeing other hamster-related games in your collection besides Hamtaro, and yeah there were so many that released during the Gameboy era! The early 2000s was home to a hamster craze in Japan, with many games never reaching overseas market. It's quite fascinating.
I bought custom clamshell cases for all my gameboy games a while back and then printed out art for them. It was expensive but they are practical and look nice on the shelf. Makes it easier to find what I'm looking for too.
What I like about older games its how you said they are self contained adventures. Now I have to download something every other day to continue playing. I remember this trend starting in the psp era
Just discovered your channel today. Cool videos, wishing you lots of success!
Such nostalgia thank you ❤️
Your game room is amazing!
You have a lovely collection. It may not be as big as others, and the items may not be in pristine in quality, but it's a diverse selection of gems that you have stories behind. I think that's wonderful.
OMG I MISSED YOUR CHANNEL SO MUCH I CANT BELIEVE YOU UPLOADED AGAIN :,)
It's so cool to hear of a collector with a similar backstory. Love it!
It’s a good day when tama makes a video
Is this Christmas? A second video so soon is epic! Thank you 😊
Tamashii Hiroka, I love watching your video and one of them really touch my heart. I was wondering if you could do a review of your Pokemon teams from each Generation. I really interested and would really appreciate it.
The lime green GBC was also my first gaming system. I got it for Christmas along with Elmo in Grouchland when I was 5 years old.
Awesome collection! You should get some box protectors which makes damaged boxes feel fresh and prevents further damage.
Yay! This was fun. I'd love a deep dive like this on all your collections. ^^ Oooh especially anything PlayStation. 😝
I love this video! I find your collection so cute! Subscribed to your channel!
I'd love to see more of your collection. I have all the main series Pokémon games myself, minus the Game Boy and Game Boy Color titles due to how high maintenance they are.
That video made me smile I always liked older games though I play both old and new ones but gbc games were what I started with and because of that they always feel right to me I do want to collect different games myself when I have the space also it is always a happy moment when I see someone who loves plushies just like me! Gald to see your back
Just subbed! Love the pokemon/retro content 🙏
2:16 Lime Green GBC team checking in! And Pokemon Silver, too!
I got that Special Edition Pokemon Game Boy Colour and a copy of Pokemon Red for my birthday when I was about 12, some great memories there
The Rite Aid games thing is so weird because this year I found a sealed Mary Kate and Ashley game for the GBA in Rite Aid. It was more expensive than it was on Ebay so I didn't get it. You always see this stuff at Rite Aid it's so weird
Neat collection video! If you haven't looked into them yet, I recommend looking at box protectors for your Game Boy games. Some of those original Pokemon games are really valuable now, and box protectors will make them both safer and look nicer. I got some for my boxed collection not too long ago, and I'm glad I did! I went with a site called RetroProtection, but there are others with similar products.
