In my own personal experience (4.4mil vlad top main), it depends. Sometimes top is easy mode and sometimes mid is. Matchups matter far more top side. Top lane is far less forgiving, especially if you're weakside and get the 2v1/3v1 treatment multiple times. However, when mid lane is hard, I do believe the difficulty is the highest for sure. There are some very rough matchups mid and there are more "chores" you have to do as a mid-laner. Couple that with the ganks you get from jg and bot lane roaming and it can absolutely be a nightmare, especially in terms of securing objectives. Honestly, this is the first season I've felt comfortable playing Vlad top consistently since season 11.

That matchup is so much harder now than it used to be. If you can do a 2 wave shove and have the third wave bounce back, you can look to freeze and zone. However, depending on the Nasus and his rune choices, he can just Q away your damage. I used to run swifties for the slow reduction but that was removed last patch, iirc. If you don't run PR, you might be able to get a huge lead early, but if you don't you're likely screwed in terms of the 1v1 and he will eventually out-scale that lead in the 1v1 anyway. Your best option is to harass him early as much as you can while farming, try to keep him from stacking efficiently, and then get your team on board with rotating and killing him together if he pushes past river. Look for objectives or fights afterwards and try to end the game as quickly as you can. If you're lucky, your jg can help you get a lead, but I would personally prefer my jg to get bot lane fed so its easier to kill him as a team. Good luck man.
Buy swiftie boots, take the slow reduce rune, farm up, get a teamfight wipe. if you can bully him in lane then do it, but you can't 1v1 after 15 minutes unless you're fed.

@@karlrose405 Irelia is a good matchup from my experience. If you go Aery + Ignite she can't kill you unless she has a wave near tower and she's 100% hp, or if she has a bork.
i think stormsurge isnt good at all, maybe shadowflame would perform better

He's right though, mid vlad is so much harder than top. Mid has a lot of bad matchups and champions that can perma shove you in and roam to punish your early game. The mid lane meta hard counters vlad, sadly.
