Hi Michelle, you represent what I’ve been looking for! I want to initiate a spiritual retreat and I just made this realization recently. You make all the best points compared to many other videos I’ve watched on this subject.
You even give advice on assisting in “helping the client in making that connection by opening up”. Bottom line; As I grow in the spiritual path, I want to assist others on the spiritual path, while simultaneously, making a living, why not!?! What do you think about sponsored retreats? I'm in the process of creating one now & i want to do a mini retreat as a test run and was looking into getting brands to sponsor the retreat as the form of income & then hand selecting creators to be 'chosen' to come along make it this 'exclusive thing'. Or do you think I could combine sponsorships & getting my customers to pay for the retreat?
This was really helpful, thank you very much. I am curious, do you often have a team of facilitators when you are doing a retreat or is it just you and the group of people? I feel that having additional people to offer beneficial information or assistance may have a retreat look more professional?
Are you doing anything differently now because of covid and having people in an enclosed space together? What about if your retreat is sharing an overnight space for several days… how would you navigate that in a safe way?
Hi Scarlett! You are welcome. I apologize for the delayed response. When I started I didn’t have a team, it was just me and one assistant on site to help with logistics. Now - several years later - I do bring some of my existing clients as volunteers, and they are there in support. I don’t usually have any other facilitators at the up front retreats, and save those for the big back end retreats. I do that because I want to deepen the relationship between them and me at that first retreat.
In terms of covid, we did testing for a while and had a special air filter that cleans the room of all viruses using some high tech nasa technology.

I’ve been renting my house for photos shoots, events and retreats through a website platform, it’s in the Hollywood Hills very close to all the Studios yet very private very lush and exotic, my goal however is to promote it to media companies such us Netflix, CBS, Warner brothers etc for a day retreat for their executive employees and/ or clients. Would you know which department is responsible for organizing these retreats ? Would you recommend that I create a website for the house, an Instagram account, Facebook account? Please let me know of any advise or suggestions that may have help me start my own retreat.

Hire some Copywriters to spread the word for your business through email and social media and make sure to take care of the Legalities.
If you want to get in contact with these companies find out who the CEO’S are ,email and pitch to them.

Jahrell Harden couples retreats sound awesome. I truly believe that retreats are an excellent container for personal growth and transformation, and nowhere is that more needed (IMHO) than in relationships.

Great info. Do you get an airbnb that all participants live in together or do they find their own place to stay?
AirB&B has rules against that actually. No parties or events, and some limit the number of cars that can be parked outside. You have to ask the host if it's okay, and then if it is they may double the fees, so may not be any cheaper than getting some huge place. Would be a nice idea though otherwise.
We have often used VRBO, which is similar to Airbnb, but offers a filter to search for venues that permit events :) and yes, we have also used Airbnb and had some luck there, but not as much as VRBO.

I think making the outcome is where im getting stuck. Like a hard tangible thing they can walk away with. I love the ideas of retreats. I actually would Love to do a mermaid retreat and helping women feel confident, lean into their emotions and feeling empowered. Any additional tips u can give?
Also the problem solutions... Do the solutions have to be tangible? How is there PROOF of helping someone be more confident or feel more empowered? Do I need to set up some sort of system? I just feel lost on the actual WORK of the retreat.

How do we advertise & try to sell the retreat if we don’t know who the customer is or their needs?
Find your target market dive deep into it and find out their pains and dream state and possibly Hire Copywriters and they will take care of the rest for you as far as spreading the word and getting opt-ins etc for traffic.
