Hint !!!put settings on to double speed too much talk but GREAT TECHNIQUE 15min mark where t all happens
Wow! So many harsh comments. Personally love your realness and honesty. (And ... you do not talk too much.) I learned so much from this tutorial. You make a daunting process approachable. Thank you.
Oh my goodness! I had to pause this video to let you know I have already learned more in 15 minutes than I have learned from watching many, many videos posted by others on the art of veining faux marble! Thank you!!! You are an excellent teacher.
Thank you for this video, the feather application is FANTASTIC 💞
Hi there Amy I have always wanted to do marble Great teaching. Thank you Ellen
Thank you for watching!
Great technique but watch at 1.5 speed. ... You're welcome!
Lol
Whahaha bla bla bla bla. It’s an American “W”
Love how this came out! Beautiful and love the water and feather technique. Thank you.
Omg this is going to be perfect when I do my countersssss!! 😍😍😍😍💛💛💛 I APPRECIATE YOU SO DARNED MUCH
Great great tutorial on marble veining. So realistic looking. Thank you so much! Can't wait to try it.
Where can I buy the paint and glaze
I’ve just found your page!
I’m in Southampton England 🏴
Beautiful work, Amy!
You had me fooled for a moment there, I said ‘ok she’s going to use the point of the feather...like a pen, when you totally use the actual feather for the veining !! My mind was blown away!!
Thank you for sharing this! I love it and I watched a few other videos, and always came back to yours...Thank you again!
This was such a fantastic method, thank you
perfect job
Beautiful design. Love it.
Beautiful
Is there a product you can use on top to give it a high sheen and protect it?
Minwax acrylic
Loved this,, thankyou so much,, you have inspired me to get creative 💕
so nice!
I learned so much thank you. Amazed
I already cleaned and primed the entire tiled mantle area before I saw this video. Do I have to remove all the work I did or can I still use the one step base paint?
No need to!
I'm from Memphis Tn and am a painter ,I really enjoyed your program. Some of these things your doing,I've never done before and I'm interested in your technique.Thankyou for your program
I don’t appreciate when someone wants you to subscribe but then doesn’t answer questions in the comments!!
She probably doesn't read the comments because of the personal nasty comments on here.
Thanks! You are so adorable!
This is beautiful and makes me feel like I could actually try it. If you paint the tile around a fireplace, as mentioned as a possibility, and you have to have a wet surface then how do you keep it from running? I'm afraid it will all just slide right off the tile as I'm trying to work on it.
Fantastic! Would love to do a live class with you if you were closer to where I live in Canada. Thank you!
Wow halfway through and you're finally going to put some paint down
Surprised your names not Richard 🤠
lovely
I'd like more of a glossy finish. Do you have a satin or eggshell or gloss instead of matte? Ty
Thank you,Here in Memphis tn.
I love this color, but say my children drop a blob of spaghetti on it, will it stain? I’d love to do this on my kitchen countertops!
4:48 am Can I safely use marble one step on a 3 dimensional strip of polyurethane foam?
Amy that glaze you used is it to thin to use on a wall or will i need to thicken it
Thank Nick!
Can I also, use minwax poly, I’m looking for a higher, durable sheen on my countertops
Yes. Of course
Can I do this on sheet metal?
You don’t mention how to seal countertops ie laundry room or kitchen. What would you use? Is it heat and scratch resistant? I looked on your website but saw no explanation when looking at your bundle for this project. How much area does the bundle cover? All questions need answering before one would purchase items.
I was wanting to know the exact same things. You're right...we CAN'T purchase unless they answer us.
I really want to do my counter-tops too but need the same answers
In the description she lists a matte sealer with a link. Perhaps that’s what you’re looking for. 😉
If you have worked with epoxy resin/glaze before or you are willing to risk it (screwing up mixing the stuff and/or applying it, ruining your work). Expoxy clear coat is probably the best. Otherwise (and this is what I'm doing), try some polycrylic finish by Minwax (they have a few lusters you can choose from) I'd recommend at least 3 coats, sanding and let fully dry between each coat.
For countertops, top it off with a clear satin polyurethane. It's oil-based so it will protect them from heat and everyday use!
Can you do this on finished particle board which is The top of my desk?
Awesome tutorial, thank you. Question: can you roll cookie dough (or any other dough, for that matter) safely on a countertop that has been thusly treated? Thank you!
Yes, absolutely
@@amyhowardathome Thank you for responding!!!!!!
I want to remodel my counter top, first do I need to scrap it ? Because it look like there is a resin on top. And on the final step how I coat the countertop , do u recommend using clear epoxy resin ?!
Thats my question too but l dont see any answer
Can I do this on my bathroom counter? And then how do you seal it
Were is the answer??
Yes! Top coat seal with 3 coats of polyacrylic...instead of polyurethane unless it specifically says non yellowing on it.
I think you let coats completely dry as per instructions on can and sand between coats if I saw that correctly. I'm so excited to do this to my bathrooms' counters. Painting vanity a beautiful deep blue green from a different company....(Hope I can say it on here lol.) Called All in One. But im buying glazes and antiquing gels like at craft store locally as they are so expensive at both of these paint companies. Probably HD and Lowes has those but the paint you order from either Amy Howard. Or All in one..they have quart sales quite often or flash coupons like today they had 35% off your total order.
If you're on FB check out the group HTP Heirloom Traditions ..she does videos too and people post so much cool stuff they've done. It's a learning process for sure.
Sorry for rambling on. But I like to share where people can learn DIY and save money!
I can't afford new countertops. She does a marbling with tissue paper that looks so easy. She even did a huge old messed up Formica meeting table.
Good luck 👍
Hi from RI
Hello there!
Amazing
how much products would I require to cover a wall 8ft x 6ft and how much would it cost me ( Hertfordshire UK )
Can this paint be used on glass ? I want to marble a glass top coffee table . I’m from California.
Thanks for the video! Can you do this on MDF?
Yes you can!
Wow! I love this technique! I won't buy your paint tho, because I think it's too expensive and haven't seen reviews on it but the feather technique is cool! Thank you for showing it!
Can you do this process on counter tops?
I have marble kitchen counter tops but am not happy with the color and would like to achieve this look. Can I paint over real natural marble? Also my counter tops are in desperate need to be resealed... should I reseal them first then paint or paint then reseal?
Do you give classes at your location?
Do you sell the complete kit for faux Carrara?
Is this waterproof? I may do this in my bathroom.
Bagus hasilnya
stirring sounds with that plastic spoon agh! 🤣Great video though
What's the fully cure time for laminate countertops? You mentioned cure time but never told us the time frame
That was the most rambling long video ever. I wish you would have done a bit less talking on the beginning
Donna Johnson she’s trying to sell her products, but I agree. If anyone reads this, she starts around the 9:00 mark
@@Lukas583 More like around the 15:35 mark for the actual technique.
GemGal 😉 thank you
Can anyone here tell me can you do this on ceramic tile after covering it with a bondo material to cover up the seams?
Can you use this on granite?
Should we use chalk base or water based paint?
I used our One Step Paint in this video and this is a water-based paint.
Where do I find your glazing and the one step paint
All products used in this video are linked in the description.
I'm going tru comments and questions to you. But you don't answer any. Why?
what type of tile is it please?
Top
Keren👍
Can you use this on Granite to cover your counter tops?
She is trying to create the granite look. Why would you cover it?
Can you use this on brown marble??
Can anyone recommend a glossy sealer that will hold up on countertop and won’t turn yellow over time ?
K Schep, at local Home Depot , request mini wax one coat polyurethane non-yellowing.
Minwax Polycrylic, not polyurethane. Polycrylic is water base so it won't yellow. Any sealer with oil in it, like polyurethane will yellow.
Kim Fermo Thank you. And for explaining the difference. 😊
Ik this won't be answered but where in God's Name would we get a turkey feather ????? It's gorgeous but we can't do this without the feather
Amazon
Great now I have to find a feather
Hahaha I just had the same thought after watching the video :) it really looks amazing with feather, way nicer look then brush. Any tips on finding the feather, amazon perhaps? Lol
Can i used it on marine plywood (made) countertop?
Use MDF sealed all the way around with woodglue mixed with a little water or red guard it and it'll never have water damage. MDF is smoother and gives a nicer finish than plywood. You can also seal it laquor or epoxy.
So how do we snag a feather like this?
Catch a Swan in a park lake
@@TheSubpremeState go to jail eek lol
Explain what kind of glaze are you using ,please.
Are these paints water based
Yes!
the camera person is driving me NUTS! love the concept though
would have been much better to put the camera on a stand and aim it at the project overall, as opposed to the camera jerking around and often missing the process going on
❤️❤️. UK
how about tazze flooring
Come do my island! And no you don't talk to much. 🤦 Thank you for showing us this
I’m not sure what everyone can see once u finish using the feather it produces a face
Byhaila ms
Are your products non toxic ?
This woman talked sooooo much about trivial things I fell asleep waiting to learn to do marble painting........plus I KNOW there is a two step kit out there I got at Lowes a few years ago that had two paints with it and they were formulated like oil and water so it came out looking EXACTLY like marble/granite etc!!!
Can this work on a granite vanity?
I agree with Donna!! Less talking please!!!
Camera dude fired...
M
Just for info that store coatis expensive. And read reviews on all that. Are you just enthralled with a fake out video?. Most of those trendy kit things for countertops are just them cobbling together supplies you can buy off the shelf from home stores. There is no reason to downgrade all videos on the www. If not your thing move on! But I’m sure the negative people have never done a craft in their lives!
"I don't want you" ? Really can't you talk without saying that crap all the time? smh
I love her but this video is like broadway i laughed and then I cried.
הרבה דיבורים מיותרים. צלם גרוע עם מצלמה לא יציבה. חוץ מזה הכל בסדר.
Camera sux too! 👎🏼
How much product would you say is needed for around 70sq ft in countertop? Thanks in advance
