    This is beautiful and makes me feel like I could actually try it. If you paint the tile around a fireplace, as mentioned as a possibility, and you have to have a wet surface then how do you keep it from running? I'm afraid it will all just slide right off the tile as I'm trying to work on it.

    You don’t mention how to seal countertops ie laundry room or kitchen. What would you use? Is it heat and scratch resistant? I looked on your website but saw no explanation when looking at your bundle for this project. How much area does the bundle cover? All questions need answering before one would purchase items.

      If you have worked with epoxy resin/glaze before or you are willing to risk it (screwing up mixing the stuff and/or applying it, ruining your work). Expoxy clear coat is probably the best. Otherwise (and this is what I'm doing), try some polycrylic finish by Minwax (they have a few lusters you can choose from) I'd recommend at least 3 coats, sanding and let fully dry between each coat.

      @blondiek8934 Před 3 lety

      Yes! Top coat seal with 3 coats of polyacrylic...instead of polyurethane unless it specifically says non yellowing on it.
      I think you let coats completely dry as per instructions on can and sand between coats if I saw that correctly. I'm so excited to do this to my bathrooms' counters. Painting vanity a beautiful deep blue green from a different company....(Hope I can say it on here lol.) Called All in One. But im buying glazes and antiquing gels like at craft store locally as they are so expensive at both of these paint companies. Probably HD and Lowes has those but the paint you order from either Amy Howard. Or All in one..they have quart sales quite often or flash coupons like today they had 35% off your total order.
      If you're on FB check out the group HTP Heirloom Traditions ..she does videos too and people post so much cool stuff they've done. It's a learning process for sure.
      Sorry for rambling on. But I like to share where people can learn DIY and save money!
      I can't afford new countertops. She does a marbling with tissue paper that looks so easy. She even did a huge old messed up Formica meeting table.
      Good luck 👍

Most of those trendy kit things for countertops are just them cobbling together supplies you can buy off the shelf from home stores. There is no reason to downgrade all videos on the www.
