In this video tutorial, you will learn how to crochet very easy triangle scarf. It's perfect for spring, or a summer evening. Looks great with a tank, T-shirt, sweater or a blouse.
It measures 200 cm at its widest point and 90 cm in length at the tip of the triangle.
Stitches used: chain, half double crochet (hdc)
I used 2 skeins 100% acrylic medium yarn and 4.5 mm crochet hook.
Also in this tutorial, you will learn how to make fringe. It's very easy. enjoy!

chain 8, slip stitch in first chain to form a ring.
ROW 1: ch 8, hdc in ch-ring, ch 5, hdc in same ch-ring, turn piece.
ROW 2: ch 8, hdc in ch-loop below, ch 5, hdc in next ch-loop, ch 5, hdc in same ch-loop, turn piece.
ROW 3: ch 8, hdc in 1st ch-loop, ch 5, hdc in next ch-loop, ch 5, hdc in next ch-loop, ch 5, hdc in same ch-loop, turn piece.
Repeat 2nd and 3rd row and continue inc same way until shawl measures approx. 50 cm vertically.

Yay! I've been searching through other youtube tutorials for an easy shawl to make with Homespun Yarn (Lion Brand). This looks like the easiest! Could you please explain which chains are 5 & which are 8? I am trying to figure out where the increase happens. I can't really tell from the video although this is a terrific video & I love how you stop during the work to show what each stage looks like & where you are joining the stitches. I see the pattern is 2 loops then next row is 3 then next row is 4 loops. It would be helpful to know which of those loops are chain 5 & chain 8. Thank you so much !!

Hello, beginning chains are chain 8 and increase loops are chain 5 (at the end). There is one increase in every row.
Ani Tugushi hi! in the comment it says to repeat the 3rd row, but in the video it says to repeat 2 and 3, I was just wondering if you repeat 2 and 3, or just 3?

Hello, it's mistake in the pattern, row 2 and row 3 are the same. There is only one chain loop increase in each row, it shouldn't be very wide

are you using 4 ply yarn? what size hook?
This is 4 or medium yarn (10 or 12 ply), recommended hook size 4.5-5.5. I'm using 4.5 mm hook

I recently discovered that you can watch the instruction in slow motion by pressing on the "gear". It really helps.
