trucks, all trucks were long hood with all metal surface interiors & a tiny 1 man bunk.
Automatic transmissions in simis was unheard of. THANK YOU VOLVO!!!

The side skurts are so low to the ground they will be torn at the first gravel warehouse location .Or truck stop with potholes.The truck looks cool

It's quite low..I mean that bottom plastic goes by bye once you hit a bump or a curb? This defo is nit for Europe roads, however it says its made for USA so it is ok for their roads I guess?

Sadly this truck is so low on the ground, that it has zero chance on the hills/mountains. Specially on bumpy roads. Unless you live in a country where all roads are made of 100% asphalt. Even roads with Asphalt can have bumps, and this could cause damage to truck.

Where are the mirrors?
Then... they put the sideview mirrors back on (as required by law) and lost everything.
I don't know so much about other country laws, but here in Brazil we already have cameras replacing sideview mirrors in some car models.
I seen a cascadia without the mirrors, only the cameras. So maybe they changed that law?
@@MarK-ig4ux I was joking in my comment of course. However, I think the manufacturer is "required" to put the mirrors on, but after that, the vehicle owner can do whatever they want. I think this was Elon Musk's plan for the Cyber Truck, they have to put the mirrors on, so they were going to make them really easy to take off and put on "after market" cameras.
It is required until law changes. For now mirrorless camera systems requires redundancy and you can opt for smaller mirror. Although, based on different trucking manufactures’ data it represents less than 1% in total fuel savings so yet the comment above is not accurate. It will take sometime to drivers get used to it but once available across the board there is a chance side mirrors disappear for good
@@tuckertucker1 In Europe camera's are already allowed. Volvo is European. So at home they don;t need sidemirrors

Take note of how cars are considered the issue, when in reality boats and trains, are big on CO2 emissions.
Looking at it as a truck mechanic..... Wtf... Usually engineers don't think on the long run of how to fix things efficiently and quickly 🤷. Everything is nice and cool but underneath its a train wreck.
I agree. Who are they expecting to maintain that, foolishness, and be time and cost efficient for the driver's budget. Arm and a leg for simple oil change, mechanic removal of hundred nuts and bolts SMH 🫠

Esse caminhão praticamente encosta no chão. Parece que não é capaz de trafegar numa entrada mal conservada e com buracos. No Brasil as estradas têm buracos grandes. Não venderiam um caminhão desse aqui no Brasil.
Yep looks like a car, and can't believe they put smaller tires on it are they kidding. And they tested ok yep in a local area where there is no hazards. It will not work in the real world, its a dream truck. Too many issues with it, first time it gets into an accident thats it, truck is history. Sorry but I'm not driving it.

Actually, it is not electric. It is a pretty cool diesel setup! It is a diesel truck with electric components to remove load from the engine.
How did you come to this conclusion without anyone telling if it is or not? It is not electric... it is ICE. The efficiency comes basically from the truck's powertrain, tires and aerodynamics. Consider a Supertruck a platform for trucking kinda like F1 is for the car industry. This is where you will find the most advanced technology available nowadays and based on it the truck manufactures can integrate some of the features to upcoming projects. pretty cool design Volvo. Probably the coolest Supertruck2 around!
