    Only video that explains the difference between these 2 this thoroughly. I could never get a straight answer on the difference between them. I normally use Solveset, which is very strong. On thin decal like Microscale brand I would wait for the decal to dry, then apply Solveset. I have gotten, in paint sets, weaker decal solutions which all worked fine on thin decals. I tried Micro Set which works very well, however when a very textured surface or thick decals are in play good old Solveset works great! Some times several applications are needed.I also like using Testor's plastic paint brushes for water & solution application.

      @Hina Arora That's not an adhesive. Its a solvent and its made of vinegar water and acetone off the top of my head

    Can you use both on the same decal (one so that the decal fits, the other so it sticks)

    • @chuchuchip
      @chuchuchip Před 2 lety +1

      I have, but I've never seen the need. After the "melting" step (will help the decal stick anyway) I seal decals with a final clear coat of desired sheen. Quality decals look like painted on.

    What's the difference between a decal and a sticker? I have board game horses that have stickers that won't stay on. Would these help?

    • @chuchuchip
      @chuchuchip Před 2 lety

      Stickers are generally printed vinyl, decals are a silk screened or printed thin film that should be clear coated.

    When applying the micro set it damn near drys up and disappears as soon as I paint it on. Is this supposed to happen ?

    Wiard question can I use micro set on a polycarbonate body ? Of a rc body

    • @venompaintball8519
      @venompaintball8519  Před 2 lety

      Yes either solution is 99% water and the remaining is vinegar and acetone. These are rough numbers but it shouldn't harm anything unless its as thin as the decal you are using.

    Can you use this on stickers? Like for Transformers or Monster High Dolls? And if so, can you apply it on stickers that are already on the figure or does it only work if you haven't stuck the thing on the figure yet?

    Does micro set attack enamel paint finish on my model?

    • @venompaintball8519
      @venompaintball8519  Před 3 lety +3

      It should not. All it is is a very diluted (like very very like 90% diluting agent) acetone with some vinegar added in I believe. I haven't had any issues with the 100s of decals I've used. It just makes the decals a little more flimsy thats all

      I haven’t used it this way but I don’t see why you couldn’t. It’s basically softens and allows for positioning. Another option Brittney could be using a simple water and white vinegar solution.
