Never seen Mike rockin' it like that. If he would have always put that kind of enthusiasm into playing with The Monkees they could have come off as even more powerful than they were. He usually takes a back seat, but he had both hands on the wheel right there. Very refreshing to see.

Omg. I am a bit older than you met them all. Mickey was the most vocal. Davy cute mike solid and peter super fun and whimsical. Look to old stuff all very different and to say Mickey stood back my love you need to really look at the dynamics of 4 strong different personalities. I am a young 54. Met them all on many occasions and Soo grateful for that but these guys were thrown together and made it work! Fan since reruns at age 8! Rodney from kroq knew for years and great friends with them do was fortunate. So heartbroken over this. Wish Mickey many more years!

I can’t stop watching this, I have never seen Nez so happy and animated on stage! The power in his voice, this is pure joy! I love how tickled he is with what Circe and Coco are doing on backing vocals, he must have been unaware they changed what they were doing and by the end of Circle Sky he is unable to contain himself the way he strums the guitar the last seconds of the song is just magic!!!

Why do you think that was? Watching it here, I saw the footage and heard that guitar intro - I felt it from here just now - just - felt it - but just wondering if you had another take? Seems like people were sat down before too? Their faces (especially Nez's) suggest that they didn't see that coming. Sorry for long message, just so wish I could have experienced seeing them!

I always loved this song even as a kid watching Monkees reruns on tv. Before the Monkkees recorded it, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band did a version of it. Check it out czcams.com/video/RflG4g39amw/video.html Knowing that version is out there adds a little gravitas to a song I always thought of as buble gum rock. Opens up different angles in the song I hadn't expeted. Be warned, the Butterfield Blues Band version is a little more "60's trippy" than the Monkees despite it also having a harder blues edge with real blues harp and guitar solos
