Why would you take the fuel line off? Unless the housing is cracked, just replace the filter by unscrewing the bowl and just replace the filter itself.
Very helpful video. What year is the motor? Part number of the fuel filter? I have a Mercury 30 hp 4-S 2010, trying to figure out the correct fuel filter to get. Thanks!
My motor is the original motor that came with my 2011 Lowe Skorpion. So the motor has to be either a 2010 or 2011. From what I gathered, the fuel filter is part 879884T. But as you can see in the video, I had to use a little bit larger hose clamps and a different nut on the top of the cartridge. But this filter is the same size and everything I found said that this is the "newest" version of the original filter. It has been working fine and no issues.
Good idea about putting the hose on first, so you don’t get them mixed up.
Thank you.

Does the 30hp have an inline filter as well as the one your replaced?
I do not believe this has an inline filter. Only the one that I replaced.
Why didn't u put the back clamp on first
I guess I could've.
