Just found this video. I have a 2006 and changed that filter thanks to you. Yearly maintenance at dealer never replaced this filter. The filter fell apart in my hands. A disaster waiting to happen. Thank you. You made a difference in my life. Also had to change float pin. Sticking closed.
I just spent 1.5 days removing pump changing bulb fuel lines etc on 60hp efi 4 stroke still the same problem a 1/2 full filter bowl, with the motor running i tightened the bowl with a spanner and all of a sudden fuel level rose and hasnt missed a beat ,hope this helps someone

Yes, High pressure filter is hidden on 2006 4 stroke. Hidden down at the bottom under wires and hoses.

Yeah.... it’s hell getting to it on a 40 hp. No slack, and it’s position is under another part.
yep.. so dumb.. They could have put it on the other side and it would have been easily accessible.
just remove bottom coil and it’s simple...
That's after you remove the coil on the bottom because that's the only way to get to it .
