as a croat, the bit about trying to hike in birkenstocks made me disapprovingly shake my head because so many tourists go hiking in birkenstocks and end up having to be rescued by our mountain rescue service. we have many jokes and memes about it 🙈

There's a Crumbl Cookie five minutes from my apartment and I had no idea that there had cake or pie cookies!! Well shoot! I always get the chocolate chip one, I can always trust that one to be good if the other flavor that week are a bit sketchy.

I’m interested to read both of those books and see what I think. My five star cozy mysteries were The Maid and Vera Wong. For me they’re kind of different than other 5 stars I give, I always think it’s unexpected when I give a cozy mystery 5 stars. But I loved those two this year.

Cornbread is my absolute favorite crumbl cookie, 10/10 for me. A friend and I went and got an entire box of just those last week to share at work because we they don’t get that flavor often 😂 But I love cornbread in general so it tracks…I’m also intrigued by the apple pie one. I hope you didn’t end up with any allergic reactions!

Die Hardcover wirken dünnner und größer. Die Taschenbücher sind gleich.😊

Oh the ice cream thing: based on the picture that seems to be a knock off of a touristy thing they do sell in some places in Europe (including Prague). The ice cream "cone" is based on the Hungarian chimney cake. You can buy this with various fillings in Prague. The original is without any filling, and just sugar on the outer side. You can get them in huge sizes (think 0.5 meters tall). Some of the decoration includes coconut flakes, chocolate flakes, walnuts (this one sounds weird, but it is a great match) and others.
In Prague they started to put things like chocolate cream on the inside. And also ice cream. It sounds delicious. If any of you ever have the chance to try any version of this go for it. It is delicious in all forms.
Yes, that's the word I was looking for- not donut, chimney cake. The owner opened it after moving here from the Czech Republic, so I wouldn't call it a knock off I don't think? haha so tasty!
as far as i know, its called trdelník and it originates from slovakia:) however, the region it is originally from is near the borders with czech republic, plus slovakia and czech used to be one country, so thats probably why it is so popular in large cities in czech as well :) im surprised to see that it is made so far from european borders!
