  • Jesus provided many reasons for why people should believe in Him. As we look at some of His miracles, we see that when we go God's way, He will get us to our destination and teach us vital lessons along the way.
This teaching is from our series 43 John - 2016 with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque.

Pastor Skip, I am from Bengaluru India. I happen to be one of those deeply blessed by your messages which not only expound the Word but also challenge us!. It's also been a great asset as I study Bible with BSF.

It is sooo difficult Skip… I became a christian May 95… where I find myself today is a place that I know I am not so much distant from God but turned sideways so I can see Jesus to one side of me and the world at the other… I listen to your sermons every day… the way you expound the, “Word of God”, is just spot on for my divergent ears to hear and my divergent brain to understand… before I end up writing a short book… I would just like to thank God for you and how He uses your Gifts… thank you Father God For Skip and Father God Thank You for You, for Jesus and our Holy Spirit… Thank you Father God… Amen… Amen… Amen… 🙏🙏🙏…

Thank You so very much Pastor Heitzig for these Bible studies verse by verse! I live a fair distance from the church that I attend and am hoping to move closer to it so that I can go to the Bible studies that they have there. I discovered during announcements before the service this morning, that the Bible studies will be closed down for the summer. This was disappointing to me. But the Lord has blessed me this same day evening with the discovery of your ExpoundABQ. Verse by verse study is exactly what I need in my growth in coming to know my Saviour more and more! So thanks again. And all praises to our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus! Thanks be to God!

Thanks for telling people JOE to let's Jesus in their life! Some preachers tell people they need to let Jesus into they're life but they don tell them how to do it or offer them to come to the front to find out with a counselor, especially if they aren't watching online.

Thank you Skip, for putting something together for me today. I’ve known for a while my job is to be an encourager, especially to struggling mothers. I raised six sons, one who died at 24. I’ve been the one to introduce my husband to the Lord in a serious way, and we raised our sons as Christians with mixed results. My main job is an encourager, but I’m a connector. My husband has a larger reach in the world than I do. My sons and daughters in law do. I stay home and babysit the grandchildren so everyone can work. My reach isn’t that wide except... I make it so all those people can go out. The ones who are Christians know their mission and the ones who don’t are being prayed over by the rest of us.

I'm listening to your preachin in John 5:31through 6: and a thought just keeps going through my mind. You said that he (the Lord Jesus the Christ), brings J the B (smile) as a witness, behold the lamb... Then why did John send his disciples to ask if he was the one or do they seek another. He (John) knew he was the one

      Hello Richard,
My name is Taylor Bronisz, and I serve as an assistant pastor here at Calvary Church. On behalf of Pastor Skip, I want to thank you for your excellent question. You are absolutely correct, John the Baptist knew that Jesus was the promised Messiah; and, we see this fact in John 1:29-31. However, it seems that John was experiencing a moment of doubt during this time when he sends his disciples to Jesus (see Luke 7:18-23). While John confessed that Jesus was in fact the Messiah, Jesus probably didn’t fit John’s messianic expectations either. In a very human moment of disillusionment and confusion, it appears that John doubted whether Jesus was the promised Messiah. In our life as followers of Jesus, it’s not uncommon to go through seasons of doubt, especially when life is difficult or painful.
Jesus reminds John that He is in fact the Messiah, and calls his attention to the many miracles happening at the time as validation (Luke 7:22-23). Jesus doesn’t condemn John for his doubt, while also encouraging him to remain strong in his faith, even in the midst of persecution. Pastor Skip actually spoke about this exchange in Luke 7 in this sermon here: czcams.com/video/3tX-cmPO6LU/video.html, so I would recommend watching it for a more detailed explanation of this encounter.
      God bless you,
      Taylor Bronisz
