    It is easy to forget that if you run your volt meter off something like your cigarette lighter or anything other than directly to the battery you want to keep an eye on, odds are that circuit is ran by a relay. Relays will take whatever power that is running into the battery and regulate it down allowing it to remain a constant 12volts. When keeping an eye on the voltage of a battery that isn't going to give you an accurate reading. It will work, but won't give you a true reading. Hope this helps to those getting in the groove of thangz.

    Hope you changed out them planet audios. Search CZcams for planet audio dyne tests. They don’t get near what they claim in output

    I’m a photographer and I have to deal with LED lights and the issue you’re seeing is the frequency of the LEDs at either 60 Hz or 50 Hz while your cameras frame rate may be 24, 25, or 30 fps. Obviously the LEDs frequency and the cameras frequency or frame rate are completely different giving you the impression of the volt meter blinking.

    Pretty sure the yellow wire is a trigger wire. If so you wouldn't need the switch at all. Red to 12volt power, black to ground, yellow to switched source like the remote turn on on the amp. You could've literally just ran all 3 wires right from the amps power ground and remote wires plugged them right into the terminals together. And it would have turned on and off with the key.

      Will this method hurt the amp? I have the cigarette type voltmeter to read my batt & altanator. I just wanted to hook one up to my sub amp to see im within safe voltage when pounding my music. I'm a noon to voltmeter.

      @@junballs6576 no it wouldn’t hurt anything by doing it from the amp. It’s actually the best way to see the voltage on your sub amp

    • @Chrisnuzzo76
      @Chrisnuzzo76 Před 3 lety +1

      @@qkaponi it's like a Walmart generic brand of amp. There are many that are much better and still inexpensive. Choose a brand that's well known among car Audio enthusiasts. I have a 5 channel Phoenix Gold and, even though it's only rated at a total of 760 watts, it still pounds better than both of his amps put together, even if his are rated higher. You can skimp a little on your sub amp, but mids and highs don't be a cheapo. Go mid grade or higher. My Phoenix gold may be $400+, but it's one amp that does what his 2 put together wish they could do, and the clarity is amazing. Infinity Kappa's for all my speakers. 🔊😍🔊👌

    I've wired my voltmeter to my amp to see what voltage it's truly getting and the voltmeter wired to a switch that's connected to my amp so I can switch both off.

    • @haydenhicker5747
      @haydenhicker5747 Před 4 lety +2

      Adding a switch to the volt meter like he has done allows him to turn off the volt meter itself, not the entire system. You could add a switch to your remote wire to your system if you want a switch for your system though.
