As long as you can control your horse there is no problem from what I've learned.
Plus I'm respecting more of true horsemenship whom dont use bits, aka pain compliant tact.

What if your horse gets frustrated with you and starts to fight back ( aka bucks, kicks, runs, honestly not sure what he’s doing)

I wanted to see if your method was different then mine. I just use one rein, turn her left, lets say, spin her around and back to the walk. After a doing this a few times, she responds to a gentle tug if she gets distracted by wanting to eat. Have a good day. :0)

thank you so much for this. wondering if this works with every horse? would it depend on their training? had a horrible trail ride yesterday. trail guide seemed to be blaming me-the whole "the horse feeds off your energy..." thing. i understand this principle, but a horse with a habit of doing this shouldn't be on the trail with someone who doesn't know how to deal with this issue. i kept hearing "PULL HER HEAD UP!" really sore right now. going to try this technique. thanks again.

Great video wondering what is that long piece of leather called that you use to tap horse with. Thanks.

Much better to use one rein and squeeze with same side spur or heel to get feet to move...you will get much more respect by moving their feet

Make her back up. if she starts backing up when you don't want her to, then you start making her back up, even when she doesn't want to anymore

Funny. People say "bits don't hurt horses" YET we can see and hear this horse chomping down on the bit and gaping mouth. People should be riding with just a rope halter. No more dam bits. Metal in horses mouths are bad and mid evil. If you was riding in a rope halter, letting a horse snap out for a minute wouldn't hurt.

Get an education, then speak. Bites don't hurt horses. They're like steering wheel in the car.

So can halters, they still apply pressure on the nose...It is up to the rider...There are bits that are harsh but the bit is a tool. However, this shown here is actually seesawing the horse's mouth..

Bits aren't the problem it's how people use them I don't ride with bit but.. it is an excellent training tool to make horse much softer if u know how to be light with your hands, then go back to rope halter
