One little thing, it showed 25 satellites. Have your ever seen that many on any of your other drones. That’s a lot of satellites‼️
It's funny that you mention that. I noticed the same thing, however the telemetry also said I was 780 meters away, when I know it was only about 180 meters distant. I'm not sure I trust the telemetry on some of these cheaper drones.

The lag made it really tough to fly.
I had either this one or a very similar KFPlan and I had so many problems I gave up trying to review it. The app would freeze secs after connecting it to Wi-Fi and the sdcard didn't save any video. I'm glad you see yours is pretty decent. Definitely not bad at all for $180. Nice job Marcus!
Thank you, Ryan. Like many of these drones, it's so close. If not for the FPV lag and writing to the SD card it would be pretty decent.

Marcus, great review as always, I have to admit you're good at finding the positives when there's few to be found. btw, are you certain the distance settings were in meters? Perhaps imperial was set which would have made more sense with what the display was showing.

No, I've never tried that one.
Did you try setting the drone on the ground and rebooting it and the app? Seems to me, I have seen this condition before on another review for another drone. Reboot fixed it.
I cannot remember if I tried that or not.

Thanks for this review, really pleased with it. There is a max variant of this drone which claims 3km relay technology and 4k eis 3 axis which sounds great on paper but I'm skeptical

There is also max plus (third generation) now which has 3000mah battery instead of 2500mah and also promises 5km range. If you could review that one, that would be niceeee
@@raizo476 idk about that one I've never seen it but do you really think it's worth it. The kf101 really disappointed in this video leading me to no expect much in other versions. I love this drone but sadly it ain't good enough. Another thing is price for these is sky rocketing thus pushing me for finer brands such as fimi, DJI, hubsan.

Another really interesting and enjoyable vid, but I have to say if someone with bucket loads of experience, such as yourself, is having problems sorting the drone and app out then it's probably not for a tyro such as I. :-)

Hi Marcus, does this drone has a serial number? Cos its > 250g and requires.registration.
In this case you would register the RID module, not the drone. 👍

Definitely a bit of "Beginner Drone 101" course you taught today. This is no standout in any area, and the failure to save video to the sdcard brought all my hopes and dreams crashing down into the grass -with no video to relive the event. I don't see the K Plan K101 taking the drone world by storm. Do you?
Yes, this one, while it flew pretty good, it sure failed as a camera drone.

Hi friend, I love your videos. I have the drone too but I don’t understand the beginner mode and return altitude in the settings (minute 13:34), it is standard set at 30m, should I set it on 100m? What does the setting do? Please explain cause I was looking for it on the internet for a long time, found nothing about it. Thanks a lot man!
Beginner mode restricts the drone's flight distance, altitude etc. Set your return to home altitude based on the obstacles around you. For me it's usually 35 meters.

Lags and problems like that doesn’t show on captain drones channel.. it’s stabilized 100% the first thing i saw is when it’s not connecting on your phone maybe there’s a problem with yours

Wow Marcus......Had to run out side and spit that bad taste out of my mouth after watching that. A beginner may not like the hobby if they had to contend with all that. Other than the lag, failure to record, unstable hover thar wanted to just ride in your truck vs on its own, the takeoff button fail, disconnects, no format for sdcard and a half dozen other issues, it's not bad! Definitely not good either, lol. Outshines Mavic 3 at GPS Satellite aquisition, but so does my hedgeclippers 😆 🤣 😂

Are you flying a phone that is connected to a cell service are you checking to see if your Bluetooth is on or off did you check to see if you can get out of the HD and the big problem are you flying iPhone or Android if you're playing iPhone try Android if you're flying Android try iPhone I seen something about this on Captain drone he had no problem with this drone video and all good luck and thank you for doing the extra work you flying with airplane mode on your phone you need to turn airplane mode on all cell services around you to stop interference might help might not but Captain so don't give up yet had no problem with this you can contact him and ask him what he did

Hi Marcus, this drone records video at 2k (2560x1440) at 30 fps and does a reasonable job. The drone is well built and robust. What lets it down is the basically hopeless VS GPS Pro Android control app, which, despite frequent updates still has many bugs, shortcomings and limitations (such as settings like RTH height can't be altered and saved). Also some earlier app functions seem to have been removed in later versions and the developers never respond to emails! Absolutely no help at all. I suspect the lag you experienced relates to the fact that in producing this video you had to rely on the cached copy on your phone. This is hardly ever good enough quality to post anywhere. You'll see a dramatic improvement in quality in material downloaded from a memory card.

Yet another ‘don’t bother’ drone. All it does is put you off the hobby. All very frustrating to see it come up so poorly against DJI and Autel; full of excuses and compromises. Why does the manufacture even bother? Another great DJI marketing piece.
