Pennywise has been my favorite band since i was 12, and im 36 now. Such an under-rated band. I LOVE Nofx and Bad Religion along with Millencolin etc.

bad religion's discography is definitely more melodic than nofx, nofx leaned into straight hardcore sounds a lot more than br. br also just has better melodic sensibilities

In my opinion NOFX have musically more interesting songs of the three and therefore get the win for me. I listened to all three bands a lot in the 90's, but after Land of the Free Pennywise fell off for me. While I still listen to Bad Religion from time to time, I haven't really bonded with any of their albums past New Maps of Hell. NOFX is the only of these three I still listen to on a weekly basis and I regularly listen to entire albums from start to finish. They might not be the most talented of musicians, but they more than makes up for that with song writing, their personalities and the will to try out new stuff and see what sticks.

Yup, I always find that NOFX made very GOOD melodies, that are more refined than the "perception" might get with the "punk rendering". In fact I'm pretty sure that a lot of theirs tracks could be adapted to other kind of music and be revealed as "masterpieces"...
Linoleum is one of those song... Strangely can become very beautiful, sad and melancholic when played as a ballad.
Also they had blended many genres, and the phase I love the least from NOFX is when they stuck too much on the "skatecore sound"...
But "The Decline" is another masterpiece.
You win. That was super fun. My skate playlist on burned mp3 CD trying not to skip my discman is pretty much what that was. Loved every second. Thanks, dude.

Technically ElHefe is the superior guitar player out or the 3, his riffs and solos show he has tremendous skills and talent. In end it really comes down to preference, all 3 bands have stamped there place in the punk rock world and set the trend for many bands after them. Bad Religion might of began the movement but NOFX and Pennywise expanded on it.

The original lead guitarist was more metal heavy but still really clean s and m airlines and ribbed are classics

Pennywise was my favorite band when I was a young skateboarder. Then I liked bad religion more as I grew older and understood the world. NOFX is the undisputed favorite though.

Out of the three, NOFX goes so hard with their riffs, topped of by their sense of humour and live performances. The true king for me is Lagwagon, especially their work up to and including the Hoss album.

Same here. How old are you ? I'm 33 and got into it around 2003-04ish. These three were pretty much my top tier along with lagwagon and anti flag up until the terror state album. Against me, Propagandhi, the first couple Rise against albums.... that got me to about age 17 when I started branching out more to other music haha
@@thirdeyevision11 37. I've heard of most of those bands but not overly familiar. I used to buy a lot of punk compilation albums like Punk-O-Rama which had lots of great tracks on them by great bands.

Firstly, I love all three of these bands and have since the 90's when I discovered them all....while they all have a special place in my life I have to give the win the riffs of NOFX....Hefe's musical knowledge and skill make for the most interesting and diverse riffs that, when paired with Mike's off kilter view of the world, sense of humour and lyrical ability produce some of the most memorable punk rock tunes of all time....Separation of Church and Skate is a perfect example... Very cool matchup! PW is my favorite of these bands, I've seen them live about 5 times, always a bruising good time (I've seen the other bands live too).PW's first 5 or so CDs were important records to me. I think maybe NOFX won though, those were cool riffs. I would probably be a bigger fan of them if Fat Mike didn't get on my nerves with the stuff he says, lol.

All 3 are great bands but NOFX is my favourite of the 3. I also strongly believe that Bad Religion's album Suffer is the most important punk record of all time.

Well, I've seen crazy amount of interviews and documentaries and it's pretty hard to say which one is. Though the majority agree that it has to be "Machine Gun Ettiquete" by The Damned, if we're talking Punk. "Suffer" by Bad Religion and "Milo Goes to College" by The Decendents - for Skate Punk.

I like all bands since the 90s… Bad Religion was a pioneer in melodic punkrock, they influenced both other bands… the NoFX riffs are the most interesting here in the video to me! Great choice of songs for all three bands! 👍🤘
