I remember watching his first video half my life ago.
I don't particularly like the show but it's still insane that you got your own shoe
Can we take a minute to acknowledge the message in this?? Toasty's "second" dad was "abusive", if you can put it that way, and only cared about perfect toast, due to his parents constantly running experiments on him. And James actually cared about toasty, but due to them constantly fighting, toasty got mad to the point of causing destruction. And instead of calming down toasty when he fails, for example, when he accidentally got flung into the water, and killed the fish on accident, the parents fought instead of trying to keep toasty happy, as based on his face when it happens, he obviously was sad he killed all those fish. This happens in real life all the time. Parents fighting, and the kids get depressed or mad.
I love the dark humour in this show. For example the idea that max had a emotionally detached childhood growing up in a lab. And that scene where toasty kills a diver along with all the fish.
or how he literally SHOT A MAN WITH TOAST AND IT WAS STUCK ON HIM AND MAKING HIM BLEED?! yeah that was fun.

I’m really surprised by how fluid this animation is. Like, in a lot of animated shows the tweening will feel very unnatural but I’m impressed.
I absolutely agree with you on that. This is an example of rigs being put to good use and I applaud the animators for that!
@Aquarius Rattus if you think that then that’s fine, genuinely! You’re allowed to think differently, we’re all allowed to like or dislike things for different reasons. Art is subjective, it heavily depends on our standards and preferences, if it didn’t meet your expectations then that’s alright; no harsh feelings, it just means this cartoon isn’t for you. At the end of the day, opinions are not facts, opinions are what we personally think about something or someone and I find it such a shame it disappointed you, but I also have to remember that we all have different tastes and the opinion of someone doesn’t have the power to change my perspective on the matter since it ultimately doesn’t matter and you’re allowed to have a different viewpoint.
I can say I find this cartoon decent. I think it’s tolerable, just nothing amazing, I think it’s average. If you think differently then that’s great! I think we need some variety on opinions, but that doesn’t give you a justifiable reason to shame others for having a different viewpoint from you. Keep thinking differently, but please be aware of the words that come out of your mouth.
@@NonbinaryFelineArtist No, there’s definitely some merit to criticism. I’m not here to shit on your enjoyment of something, but it’s still worth pointing out that the show is really below average. The animation is only good when compared to James’ standard on CZcams, but by TV standards it’s really quite bad, and the writing has to be some of the most mediocre I’ve ever seen.
It’s definitely not impossible or wrong to still find enjoyment in it, and I’m glad you do, but looking at this show on a critical level, it’s really basic and flat with almost no character despite trying so hard to be wacky and surreal. I believe you can still enjoy something but be able to acknowledge “Yeah. I like it, but it’s really not that good”
And hey. If you want something similar but FAR better, I’d highly recommend Smiling Friends. It’s definitely more adult (which btw doesn’t make it inherently better or worse) and I think it does a lot of what Oddballs tried to do a lot better so if you enjoyed this, you’ll probably REALLY enjoy Smiling Friends
@@wilsonsauls2899 thank you so much for the reply, I really do agree with you! I do think there is definitely a way to point out objective flaws in something while still providing your own opinion.
