When I design and decorate my home with intuition and meaning, it brings so much joy to me and my family; that’s what’s important for us. In fact, the more I have followed trends on CZcams, instagram or Pinterest, the less happier I’ve been in my own home and the more money I have wasted. I love Rachael Ray’s home and Christy Brinkley’s home: everything they have is of meaning to them and has history, and it’s so warm and joyful.
It is all so personal in terms of taste for home decor and style! I LOVE a warm, European style with fabrics and color. I DON'T like that new trending style, sooo COLD and too minimalistic. I just do what I LOVE and ignore trends that change.
A few years ago when we were in Venice, we went to the Murano factory and had a custom chandelier designed for our home. It’s quite subdued compared to some of the very over the top / busy Murano chandeliers you typically see; however, you can still tell it’s Murano. We love it; it hangs in our dining room, and it’s one of my favorite pieces in our home.
I love a Tuscan Kitchen, but not the weird builder-grade lux type we have here in the US. I like something more authentic looking. Real stone, real wood that isn't painted to look old, but IS old or rustic, interesting tile, etc. This weird type we do is just fake looking and not the vibe at all.
I love an eclectic style that is mostly contemporary with some favorites thrown in! It’s timeless for me and nothing really trendy…so nothing goes out! ❤
No to Brutalism!!! Our house in the Philippines is really brutalistic. Done that! Here in the US, I go the Classic Styles and timeless and I am a lot happier.
I live in Paraguay and want my home to be relevant to the area which happens to be a large cattle ranching area. I have a brick home with Brazilian hardwood cathedral ceilings. I am trying to warm it up with leather, wood, and more typical South American textiles. Basically a Spanish colonial and it’s important to me, wherever I live to have something that speaks to the area, but I don’t want it to become to obvious. I don’t want it to be like the Ponderosa on Bananza .😊But I love your house and find so much inspiration from your styling. ( Since you asked about other parts of world I thought I would comment.😊
I’ve been working on our sensory garden all summer. But now that it’s 39 degrees in the sun outside, I’m waiting for spring to finish it. We’ll have water/fire features. But - No cold plunge pool is planned. I did a mural for my mom’s dining room in 2011. I’m glad I’m artistic! This would have cost thousands to have it done otherwise. My husband did the chard wood for our pergola and wood elements, outside! He did it to harden the wood and keep pests at bay. It’s absolutely beautiful! 🤩
It is definately a big NO to the backyard pickleball court. Neighbors would definately complain about the sounds that the raquet hitting ball make. I would not want to live next to someone who has a pickleball court.
I have a friend who put a mural at her entrance on a 3 panel board, that she framed and hung on the wall. Looks like a large, almost floor to ceiling, picture. Beautiful!
I'm in the pool business here in Canada and yes Cold Plunge Pools are a thing. We have seen a huge increase in requests. They are very good for inflamation reduction and general aquatic therapy. Love the channel.
I like moody, colorful, eclectic spaces that are also focused a lot on the tactile aspect. From the treds for 2024, the garden resonates with me most. I am planning on making my small garden on the balcony and once we finish with the apartment remodeling, planting some climbing roses (around our windows) and seasonal flowers in the communal garden (neighbours gave the green light). Nobody else takes care of it now and it is overgrown with bushes. Having a nice grass plot in the middle of it for kids to play would be pretty awesome too.
I've been living in Italy for more than 20 years (in the region right above Tuscany, mind you) and I don't think I've ever seen a "Tuscan kitchen". Same for farmhouse and shiplap; I think they're only a thing in the US. One trend I'm thrilled to see is furniture without hardware, knobs and handles. I visited the Milan Furniture Fair in April and almost all furniture were absolutely minimal and sleek. Love that!
What IS coming in the years ahead for kitchen design? Can you share what will be happening in kitchens in a future video? We don’t see the kids anymore…Landon was always so funny. Hope all three are doing great. Blessings to you all.
Sensory Garder? It's just a trendy name for a garden with a fountain, an outdoor firepit and a fine meal with a drink and path getting to and forth. People like novelty, and that is why we are in the situation we are in in the US. Pick and lane you can live with forever that has room to change out for the Trend without breaking the bank. Most people can not afford all our trends anyway! I would develop your show, which I love, into taming our constant need for novelty and keep up with whatever the Corporations (IKEA, Benjamin Moore, crate and Barrel, Etc...) need to keep up buying and consuming our lives to death, and always feeling like we do not have what we need. We should develop a home that invites a hospitable environment where one feels refreshed. One way that happens is to not have anything that makes anyone feel like they can't have it at their own home.
Our neighbors built a pickleball court and it has been a nightmare for the entire neighborhood! They are so loud daily and always having tournaments. We will be filing a complaint. These should not be allowed in neighborhoods! We are in San Diego.
Agreed! Been to cold/hot spas, great as part of a weekend getaway, but not in my own home LOL would love to have a sauna and a hot tub that would be low maintenance! Would be all about the neuroarchitecture principles for the sensory gardens and backyard. I'm sure my service dog would it too!
Living in Colorado, in the mountains specifically, we use the snow as our cold plunge. Jump into the snow, then into the hot tub. Pickle Ball is huge! Some HOA’s are not allowing courts in people’s backyards , driveways etc., as it’s very loud.
Would love your ideas for kitchen designs that will not go out of style in the next 10 years? I know a lot of people did an all white kitchen recently ❤??
Have painted a number of murals in my house. When I got tired of it, painted over. Then decided on something else. Am not big on sticker-thing. Always look forward to your postings. Blessings.
Good afternoon Valentina, from beautiful Lakewood Ohio! I have to agree with you on the trends, especially the removable wall decor. Thanks for sharing Zillow's article and shopping sites. I also agree that certain farmhouse motifs are going away - in my opinion, it feels like Modern Cottage is going to be the new farmhouse with the exception of the rustic black furniture which I also enjoy. Personally, I tend to lean towards the more modern and functional designs and enjoy working with multifunctional furnishings and creating spaces to work and play in.
Aren't the most popular trends on Zillow there because the homes with them are for sale? You got it right when you said that the reason that you don't see much backened wood on listings is becasue those homes are not for sale!
I love your background in this video- especially the vessels & stems. I do not like the artwork bc it looks cheap but it looks better there than its former placement I love the new pair of framed pieces you put in that hallway you often film in front of- big improvement!
When my husband and I were in Bora Bora, they had a cold plunge pool and then a hot pool and you’d jump into the cold one then the hot one! It was an amazing adrenaline rush! Especially the cold plunge. I’d consider getting one.
I was spot on with everything you liked except for the Tuscan kitchen. I’m 55 and in the US. I still find them comforting if done in an uncluttered way. I love all the earthy tones and copper.
Pickleball is HUGELY popular in the Columbus, OH area. People are living longer and enjoying being active. Love the idea of murals on the wall! Nice! Wow!
No on cold pools. No on pickle ball; toooo many of my friends have injuries. Free tennis, free ping pong are my choices. Thank you for your videos!! No one ever complimented adhesive murals on my walls.
The most tingly and invigorating dip I ever took was a hot tub soak followed by head first dive into freezing pool water. I still crave what was that feeling! It was pure life vibrating, intense!! The cold plunge trend is about anti-aging and super-charging immune and other systems, even mitochondria strength. We are replacing an old hot tub with another hot pool, and I would love to place a cold plunge right next to it, and possibly a sauna also near.
I have a cold plunge pool on my Amazon wishlist. In Phoenix, with our 117 degree weather, it will be nice to have, and i will not be living thru another Summer without one. We finally got done with our hot weather 6 days ago, and highs in the mid eighty degrees feels great!
I love the color on your fireplace and in your room ..please what color of paint is it? thanks. I'm sure I missed the video about the remodeling of these rooms. Merci beaucoup.
Grove Park Inn in Asheville has a phenomenal spa which has a contrast pool. Love using it on my annual trip to Asheville with my sister. Lots of health benefits!
I have been searching for the right black dining table for sooooo long😢 the options out there are slim to none. Even one of the tables that you featured looks black, but its actually brown😫
Re: the blackened wood, I agree that for interiors like the examples you showed are definitely still in or are staying in. What Zillow was referring to is the house exterior which is dramatic and I don't think appeals to a broad group of people.
I live in the Arizona desert-a cold plunge pool would be a hot tub most of the year. If I was buying a house with the kitchen at 17:17, I would be so happy!!
I'm always hot but I love to be a lil chilly (it's 59 in my room right now and I'm snuggled in w/ a crackling fireplace app on the tv and light snowing outside w/ some tea-lol). But give me a hottub over a cold plunge ANY day. Ew.
Our local YMCA has multiple pickleball courts here in south GA and we love to play for fun! If you've never played, I would highly recommend! It's so fun! It's a cross between tennis and ping pong.
I love Pickle Ball. You should play. My town has removed some tennis courts and added Pickleball courts because it is so popular. Usually now there will be one or two tennis courts along for more pickle ball courts.
I like the sensory gardens, my dentist had one in the large waiting room. I put a concrete fountain with fat little concrete birds perched on the first level. Heavy!
Nope on the cold plunge pool. I like heat and I love hot tubs. I also don’t like the brutalist trend. I do think the sensory garden would be very nice. Pickleball is very popular here. I would love a merino glass chandelier.
Hi Valentina I live in Scotland uk and I love your you tube channel I watch for all the tips and tricks and of course your fashion as a lot of what you have is out with my budget I love the books you have like Tom Ford etc Do you have a book or is it something that’s in the future as I would love it on my coffee table and of course it would be in Black and white?
My neighbors have pickle ball and my daughter and other friends are always going over to play . Luckily our neighbor is really nice to lend them courts . But pickle ball is huge in our area . And the on cold plunge pool maybe I should hold off on heater for pool 🤔
Re cold plunge pool: the money you’d save in heating the pool would go towards the bylaw fines, because you can bet I’d be screaming like a slapped cat every time I hopped in. Neighbours gonna think they moved into a true crime podcast
Sensory gardens that include all the elements... Hmm. So glad I included a see-through indoor/outdoor fireplace in our new design already and it is a showstopper. All of the other elements are being included in the outdoor landscaping with the help of a landscaper design company.
Cold pludge oh No 😭 Unless your Living in 110° Degree Weather Besides that hurts people who have arthritis better is Hot Tubs for Pain Now (the Burnt Wood Look) I Love it and its great mixed with Steel Siding ...It will Stay in Style for at Least a few more years ...
I didnt like french country as i dislike distressed finishes in general. Yes to a sophisticated country manor look (scaled down), yes to a warm library/living room, yes to a softened art deco (arches not angles, black gold and cream colors, chandeliers). I recently saw an outdoor sauna clad in the blackened wood that you described, and it was amazing. Its very resistant to the elements.
A little bit late to this video but on Pickle Ball: I am from the area where it was invented and what people do here is set up nets in their driveway as well as play in gym class in school from elementary all the way through high school. You don't need a full court just make sure you have some room to run around in and can even just use chalk or have a slight design on the drive way to separate the two halves of each side.
I’m with you on the cold plunge. It’s a no from me. In fact, this last summer my husband and I invested in a heater for our pool because everyone in our family likes being warm and comfortable when we’re swimming 😊. I feel like I’m moving away from very fru fru style. I’m not feeling a lot of feminine styles other than in my bedroom. I’m wanting solid rugs instead of Turkish rugs. I also am moving away from the farmhouse and country look and moving more towards incorporating more updated traditional and even some modern or mid century modern looking pieces. I can’t explain exactly why I just don’t want anything too fussy. Tuscan kitchens were more of an early 2000s thing. I think people were going for a more European look and I think they still are in my opinion. I’m re vamping my kitchen right now, and I’m definitely going for classic. I don’t want to do anything that’s going to date my kitchen too much.
My swimming pool is pretty “cold plunge” from November to June. 🤪
Ditto on flgulf too😂
Ours too
Sure is for us too
I never heat my pool. I live in California. Bring on climate change.
Mine is the same.
Valentina...you are hurting my heart. 😂French country and tuscan kitchens are timeless and elegant. 😇
Yes, the real deal is, not the fake American version. I love Tuscan/Parisian but closer to what truly is.
When I design and decorate my home with intuition and meaning, it brings so much joy to me and my family; that’s what’s important for us. I will always still love a gorgeous Tuscan kitchen.
When I hear the word trends, all I hear is spend money to keep up
I know, me too.
Blackened wood is stunning!
Disagree on the Tuscan kitchen! It looks so rich, warm, and detailed. I know you’re modern focused though and see it differently. 😉😁
Funny how Zillow can say there's a 100% increase in certain listings. That could mean there were two last year and four this year. LOL 😉
It is all so personal in terms of taste for home decor and style! I LOVE a warm, European style with fabrics and color. I DON'T like that new trending style, sooo COLD and too minimalistic. I just do what I LOVE and ignore trends that change.

Brutalist with blackened wood sounds like listing for a burnt out house
I love a Tuscan Kitchen, but not the weird builder-grade lux type we have here in the US. I like something more authentic looking. Real stone, real wood that isn't painted to look old, but IS old or rustic, interesting tile, etc. This weird type we do is just fake looking and not the vibe at all.
I love an eclectic style that is mostly contemporary with some favorites thrown in! It’s timeless for me and nothing really trendy…so nothing goes out! ❤
Yes! And it expresses you not a pinterest photo or showroom
This is my style as well
No to Brutalism!!! Our house in the Philippines is really brutalistic. Done that! Here in the US, I go the Classic Styles and timeless and I am a lot happier.
I don’t care for brutalism at all!
Who needs a cold plunge pool just come to Canada and roll around in the snow 😂
I live in Paraguay and want my home to be relevant to the area which happens to be a large cattle ranching area. I have a brick home with Brazilian hardwood cathedral ceilings. I am trying to warm it up with leather, wood, and more typical South American textiles. Exactly, it would be so annoying when I’m out there gardening or just enjoying the peace and quiet.
I believe shiplap is timeless, but stick-on murals, probably not so much.
I have a friend who put a mural at her entrance on a 3 panel board, that she framed and hung on the wall. Looks like a large, almost floor to ceiling, picture. Beautiful!
❤i agree with eclectic. I don't follow a lot of trends, but I like to see what's out there and choose a few new things yrly.
I absolutely love a sensory garden 😍. Thanks for the tips as always 💕
I so want a sensory garden. My backyard is tiny and looks like weeds and overgrown bushes. Now I have some great ideas on what to do
I'm in the pool business here in Canada and yes Cold Plunge Pools are a thing. We have seen a huge increase in requests. They are very good for inflamation reduction and general aquatic therapy. Love the channel.
Blackened wood is STUNNING and I agree it’s not going anywhere
I like moody, colorful, eclectic spaces that are also focused a lot on the tactile aspect. From the treds for 2024, the garden resonates with me most. It’s sure easier to turn the hot shower onto cold (and back to hot if you wish)!

That Tuscan is the American version of what they think Tuscan is. Real Tuscan is so much more elegant and timeless.

The brutalism, the blackened wood, and the wall murals 😍 my gosh 🖤🖤🖤
Right it’s kinda sexy
Those are my favorites. Sooo rich and sophisticated 🖤🖤🖤🖤❤️❤️❤️
I used to work for Bloomingdales as a St.John specialist at the gardens in South Fl. I can tell that the home department was fantastic. 👏👏👏
Whete did the large mirror above your fireplace go?
The idea is to come out of the steam room or sauna and then jump in the cold pool to close up pores after detoxing the body. It's invigorating. 😊
Oh my goodness Pickleball is huge in my area. We have 8 courts in my neighborhood park and it's always full.
Our neighbors built a pickleball court and it has been a nightmare for the entire neighborhood! They are so loud daily and always having tournaments. We will be filing a complaint. These should not be allowed in neighborhoods! We are in San Diego.
No cold pool ever! They say pickle ball is for everyone, but I know several friends that have been injured playing.
Agreed! Been to cold/hot spas, great as part of a weekend getaway, but not in my own home LOL would love to have a sauna and a hot tub that would be low maintenance! Would be all about the neuroarchitecture principles for the sensory gardens and backyard. I'm sure my service dog would it too!
Lol yessss pls to a hot tub! Not very sexy to look at ha but I can hide it behind some bushes
Living in Colorado, in the mountains specifically, we use the snow as our cold plunge. Jump into the snow, then into the hot tub. Pickle Ball is huge! Some HOA’s are not allowing courts in people’s backyards , driveways etc., as it’s very loud.
You manage to display the most tasteful trends while keeping it classic. Pure Class !❤
Blessings.
Tonight’s low will be 19 degrees. No thanks cold plunge 😂
In that instance, it could really hurt!
We live in Kansas so if you want a cold plunge, just walk outside in a snowstorm in the winter 😊

Blackened wood is stunning!!! 😍😍😍😍
Thank you so much for sharing
Love that paint color and the way you incorporated the paint on the door. Please share the color! Thanks
I live in a town in Central Oregon and for 10 YEARS now pickle ball has been THE BIG THING everyone seems to LOVE to do!
Aren't the most popular trends on Zillow there because the homes with them are for sale? You got it right when you said that the reason that you don't see much backened wood on listings is becasue those homes are not for sale!
Or won’t sell because it seems like it’s been in a house fire with the accompanying fire hose water damage?
I love your background in this video- especially the vessels & stems. I do not like the artwork bc it looks cheap but it looks better there than its former placement
I love the new pair of framed pieces you put in that hallway you often film in front of- big improvement!
Agreed! Black wood and dark woods! Cause I need pieces too!
We live in a neighborhood with a lake and we use it to plunge once a week.
I like the murals! Congrats on 350k!!❤🎉🎉🎉🎈🎈👍👏
Love the idea of murals!
Just use your hot tub but just not turned on hot but leave it cold in the winter but if you want it hot you can just turn it up!
There is definitely a rise in Tuscan-style kitchens again! I’m also seeing yellow kitchen cabinets mixed with warm minimalism!
Thanks for the tips V
Totally agree on all counts Valentina!!😊
I need living room drape recommendations ASAP!!
Pickleball is HUGELY popular in the Columbus, OH area. People are living longer and enjoying being active. Love the idea of murals on the wall! Nice! Wow!

Both Valentina and Rebecca Robeson from Kinwoven aren't afraid of dark cabinets, doors and walls.
I think this tend might pick up a bit.
I LOVE Murano glass. It's tough to find a chandelier one that is my style though. I've seen a few though over the years.
A Cocktail Garden 🍸sounds perfect.
Hi, Valentina, what say you about the design style and ideas for people living in the Caribbean?
I have a cold plunge pool on my Amazon wishlist. In Phoenix, with our 117 degree weather, it will be nice to have, and i will not be living thru another Summer without one. We finally got done with our hot weather 6 days ago, and highs in the mid eighty degrees feels great!
I’m a landscape architect in Phoenix - berghoff - you will add a lot of value
I have murals in my home - fantastic removable , and spectacular; definitely individual
I love the color on your fireplace and in your room ..please what color of paint is it? thanks. I'm sure I missed the video about the remodeling of these rooms. Merci beaucoup.
I just ordered a blacked wood coffee table, I love it. ❤
350,000! Yay!🎉
Gotta get me a concrete bed! Skip the mattress lol
Grove Park Inn in Asheville has a phenomenal spa which has a contrast pool. Love using it on my annual trip to Asheville with my sister. Lots of health benefits!
Love that spa! Hubs and I have agreed to go twice a year…it is so very relaxing and I’ve not seen anything else that comes close! 😊
I have been searching for the right black dining table for sooooo long😢 the options out there are slim to none. Even one of the tables that you featured looks black, but its actually brown😫
Hard pass on a cold plunge pool🚫 but I’m loving the blackened wood❤

Pickleball is just 4 miles away at Recreation Center Gym. It is quite popular here in McDonough, GA.
I loove the murano lamps❤❤❤
Would love a hot sauna and cold plunge space. It's not just about the cold...need to go from extreme hot to extreme cold. That would be amazing.
Our local YMCA has multiple pickleball courts here in south GA and we love to play for fun! If you've never played, I would highly recommend! It's so fun! It's a cross between tennis and ping pong.

Valentina looks fantastic in her camel jacket from Bloomingdale’s! I’m hoping it will look as good on me!
Pickleball is like having a tennis court on your property. It’s the fastest growing sport for many, many years now.
Nope on the cold plunge pool. I like heat and I love hot tubs. I also don’t like the brutalist trend. I do think the sensory garden would be very nice.
Pickleball is very popular here.
I would love a merino glass chandelier.

Hello, I would love to learn about mural. Would you mind sharing your picture and contact details? Thanks
Cold pludge oh No 😭 Unless your Living in 110° Degree Weather
Besides that hurts people who have arthritis better is Hot Tubs for Pain
Now (the Burnt Wood Look) I Love it and its great mixed with Steel Siding ...It will Stay in Style for at Least a few more years ...
I didnt like french country as i dislike distressed finishes in general. LOVE the navy jacket. Navy is so nice!

Lol Zillow must be discussing all their billionaire clients 😅

I think people were going for a more European look and I think they still are in my opinion. I’m re vamping my kitchen right now, and I’m definitely going for classic. I don’t want to do anything that’s going to date my kitchen too much.
