Fun Fact: At the guitar solo, the melody is the soviet national anthem. Mentioning it just in case you were like "Where have i heard that before?"

I love this song, this is a great song, and have some parts with info if you know the WWII history.
"All the brave, who stand against the typhoon wave", they put the name of the operation against Moscow there "Operation Typhoon". And in the guitar solo they play part of the soviet union anthem 😁
Probably too late now but ideally it would be good if you were able to cover the Attack Of The Dead Men history before this history as you will then understand their link with Radio Tapok. Plus Attack Of The Dead Men is one of the very best Sabaton History episodes.

Here comes some information about the song. The song is written by the russian singer Radio Tapok and Sabaton have translated it to english. He is also very famous because he sings all Sabaton songs in the russian language, and when Saboton played in Russia he sing together with them.
Fun fact: this is a cover of a song of russian music youtuber Radio Tapok. He made Sabaton like song and Sabaton contacted him and 11 months after original they released Defence of Moscow.

Totally yes! And they even toured together before covid showdown in March 2020.
As a Polish-American, I SHOULD not get pumped about a Russian song. NOPE! I’ve never felt more patriotic than hearing the Soviet anthem in there. My grandpa would disown me…until he heard this.

This song is very good, you really like this one, I love it, all Sabaton fans love it, Russians love it very much, etc. and as you've said it makes everyone proud for Moscow. BUT today when "Moscow" has attacked the neighbour, invaded, and continuously for 339 days and nights kills and destroys till today - it's just not right to go this way... my opinion: the song is great, but better not to gloryfy R. the aggressor today and let hear them how great they were because they aren't today; many even don't understand today's situation and are proud of the government's deeds :( In this particulr time it's not popular.
