I prefer my 5'7 3/4". Shorter people tend to have a little bit longer life span as our bodies (particularly our hearts) do not have to work as hard to push blood around. Also a bit less joint issues.

I have actually had this procedure (or one like it) done twice at Sinai hospital in Baltimore, Maryland to makeup for a growth disorder in one of my legs. If not for the surgeries, my short leg would have been amputated, so I'm really glad that I was lucky enough to be one of the success stories.
JL I've had the procedure done twice, once when I was around 2 years old and again when I was in 5th grade. I've been told that the first lengthening was very painful, but in my memory the second wasn't too bad. My pain tolerance now is (understandably) higher than a normal person's, but it really isn't painful when you aren't in therapy. I had two hours of therapy, 5 days a week, for 3 months, and the pain there was a 7/10 on my scale, (9.25/10 on someone else's), but it was short. However, now they have new lengthening devices that work completely inside the leg and require no therapy at all, so the pain on those is pretty absent. Lengthening time varies on how much you need to lengthen, but I had my device for 6 months (3 of which I lived in Baltimore for therapy). And yes, the lengthening really works. Without the ability to lengthen my leg, it would have been amputated because of how much shorter it was than my good leg. And while every person is different, and some results vary, every person still gets something out of it. Hope this helps some!

Your bones response to pressure that you put on them, that's why when astronauts return from space, their body density is lower. When your damaged body part is in a case, you don't put much pressure on it so the density actually lowers but on the healing part of your body, the repair material in comparison is stronger than your bone. As time goes by, the densities even out and it's about the same as prior to you breaking your bones. Obviously, there can be cases where its weaker or stronger depending on the body part.

With that age, you can take growth hormone, but the problem is that It is restricted. But your bones can be longer without this procedure until you are 18 year old.
I had this done because I have a shorter leg than the other and I don’t know why someone would do this just to be a little taller it’s one of the most miserable operations ever. Plus your bone will be very very weak for a long time after you get the device removed so your limited to pretty much nothing for at least a year why you body is thickening and healing the bone this is not a good idea just to get taller.

I prefer my 5'7 3/4". Shorter people tend to have a little bit longer life span as our bodies (particularly our hearts) do not have to work as hard to push blood around. Also a bit less joint issues.

JL I've had the procedure done twice, once when I was around 2 years old and again when I was in 5th grade. I've been told that the first lengthening was very painful, but in my memory the second wasn't too bad. My pain tolerance now is (understandably) higher than a normal person's, but it really isn't painful when you aren't in therapy. I had two hours of therapy, 5 days a week, for 3 months, and the pain there was a 7/10 on my scale, (9.25/10 on someone else's), but it was short. However, now they have new lengthening devices that work completely inside the leg and require no therapy at all, so the pain on those is pretty absent. Lengthening time varies on how much you need to lengthen, but I had my device for 6 months (3 of which I lived in Baltimore for therapy). And yes, the lengthening really works. Without the ability to lengthen my leg, it would have been amputated because of how much shorter it was than my good leg. And while every person is different, and some results vary, every person still gets something out of it. Hope this helps some!

Guys 5'5-5'6 are short, but not short enough for it to matter that much. 5'7-5'8 are on the shorter side, but not someone I would consider "short" it's an awkward height, but it's not too bad. 5'9 guys are the average guy. 5'10-5'11 are guys that are a bit above average and on the taller side. 6ft-6'2 are your typical "tall guy" 6'3-6'5 are the "very tall" guys. 6'6-6'9 are your NBA players. 7ft and over are giants.

Forserino Kripperino that's not what my bone doctor told me when I broke my collar bone, he said bones are susceptible to breaking again after they have been broken once.
Your bones response to pressure that you put on them, that's why when astronauts return from space, their body density is lower. When your damaged body part is in a case, you don't put much pressure on it so the density actually lowers but on the healing part of your body, the repair material in comparison is stronger than your bone. As time goes by, the densities even out and it's about the same as prior to you breaking your bones. Obviously, there can be cases where its weaker or stronger depending on the body part.

I had uneven legs because of a car accident and my right leg was 8 cm shorter then my left and im doing my lengthening right now but its the internal rod and my knee did stiffin up and my leg only bent to 80 to 85° and i had to get a knee manipulation and now my leg get to 95 to 105° easily and YES it is painful at times

Stay monitoring your levels if possible, make sure you don’t have weird fluctuations, I’m no doctor but I’d imagine that’d be a sign of a hormonal/gland issues. Tl;dr eat healthy, sleep well and workout, those things will keep you healthy as a horse

I had this done because I have a shorter leg than the other and I don’t know why someone would do this just to be a little taller it’s one of the most miserable operations ever. Plus your bone will be very very weak for a long time after you get the device removed so your limited to pretty much nothing for at least a year why you body is thickening and healing the bone this is not a good idea just to get taller.
