My Last Ride With the Honda CB 650 F

  • This lovely Honda CB650F was initially bought by one of my relatives in June 2015. He's a very busy man, always working, often staying abroad for his work, and taking care of 3 kids at home. Unfortunately, even if he loved his bike, he very rarely had the opportunity to ride it. After a few weeks, he decided to entrust his bike to me, as he didn't want it to sit unused in his garage (see the video "This Is Not a New Bike Reveal" - • This is NOT a new bike... ). Finally he rode his CB650F not more than 7/8 times in 3 years. His best memory with his bike is our day trip to Normandy (see the video "Where Does It Flow To?" - • Where Does It Flow To? ).
As a consequence, I became the main user of this CB650F. This is really a great bike and I really enjoyed riding it regularly during 3 years. I have already made a review video about it (see • Honda CB 650 F Review ). If I had to make a long term review video now, I wouldn't have anything more to say about it, as my experience confirmed my initial feelings and I had absolutely no problem with this bike. However, even if it's a brillant bike and I loved riding it, I didn't really need it. Most times (3 times out of 4), when choosing what bike to take for a ride, I chose my own Honda CBF600NA (see the video "Honda CBF600NA - Owner's Review" - • My Motorcycle, the Hon... ). First, because they are very similar, but my CBF is slightly more confortable than the CB650F. Secondly, because I always kept in mind that the CB650F wasn't mine. I had great times with it anyway. My best memory is certainly my road trip to Burgundy (see the video "The Odonym" - • The Odonym ).
When a good friend of mine told me he has got his motorcycle licence and he wanted to buy his first bike, I suggested him to buy this CB650F. He tried it and immediately fell in love. The owner was a bit hesitant (even if he rarely rode it himself, he kept hoping he could later find more spare time to ride it), but he soon realized that selling it was the best decision. He didn't ride it, I didn't need it, but it will make its new owner a happy man...
To say goodbye to the CB650F, I took it for a last ride to the Chevreuse Valley, 40 km away from Paris ( goo.gl/maps/qr... ).

Brings back good memories. Nice curvy roads, scenery and company. The ride was a blast ;-). Thanks again and ride safe.

Merci Ed ! Oui, c'était une moto que j'ai eu plaisir à utiliser, alors j'ai essayé de lui rendre hommage en toute simplicité avec une belle balade. À bientôt ! 😊

If trading my bandit 1200 this or the sv650 would be my choice! Affordable reliable and fun!

That would be a great choice indeed... But I'm afraid you could miss the huge torque of the 1200cc engine 😉

Awesome looking bike, to bad it had to go but it looks like it found a new good home :) What lovely weather you have! It already started to snow in my area :(

Thanks Gurra! 😊 Yes, the bike is in good hands. The video was recorded some time ago, and we are now enjoying a typical Parisian autumn weather... One day, it's 15°c and sunny 😎 The next day, it's 5°c with heavy rain and wind 🤧

Hi MrKiddo, thanks for taking us with you on this ride. It was surely a lovely and maybe also a bit of an emotional ride in it's own way. What a lovely country you live in, these roads look like paradise for bikers ;-) Great scenery as well. May i ask how many km the bike had on the odometer and how many km did you ride that afternoon/evening?
Anyway, the new owner now has a special and famous bike ridden by the French RJ ;-). Enjoy the EICMA and ride safe 👍👊

Hi Ray and thank you for your kind words! 😊 The CB650F had nearly 11,000 km on its odometer when sold. During my last ride, I went to the Chevreuse Valley, one of the very few areas around Paris where bikers can enjoy some curvy roads. It added 85-90 km on the odometer (full itinerary on Google Maps: goo.gl/maps/qrrmuLdNDAo ). Take care and ride safe ✌🏻

    • @MrKiddoMoto
      @MrKiddoMoto  Před 3 lety +1
