  • My climate control on the left side is not working at all and on the driver side dose work, but it is not stable and jumps to different temperatures on its own when manually trying to adjust, so i took the climate control unit apart in the hope of at least stopping the Irrational movements of the driver side control and hopefully fix the passenger side, but the passenger side is totally broke and Fortunately I managed to fix the control on the driver side and works fine now after cleaning the Electrical contacts inside the unit, it’s an easy job and dose work on fixing control that acts unstable and hard to control, but thankfully one side can work the unit and I’ll be happy enough to keep the unit as is and not replace at a cost to me, but if your unit works both sides and is jumping all over the place follow my steps and will fix it from Erratic movements.

    Thank you for such a detailed tutorial. I really wouldn't be able to fix mine without this tutorial. I would say the hardest part of this was getting the unit itself out of the car, because it is mounted VERY well to the car.👍👍👍👍

    Thanks a lot, this worked for me as well! I couldn’t get the temperature up by even a quarter, it would just always drop to minimum (manual AC). This was a problem especially during winter. While I was at it and since you have to remove the stereo anyway, I also changed it as per your other videos. Definitely wouldn’t have dared to give it a shot without these detailed instructions 😆

    Extremely useful, thanks very much. Years of frustration with our 2010 Avensis temperature control finally over! Dorted in 1-2hrs, which would not have been possible without by your magic video. Cheers!

    I had this issue of erratic temperature control especially in cold weather. Toyota service in Finland could not fix it, told me that replacement unit cost 1000 euros, not worth fixing. Your video was much better help, thanks a lot!

    Well done is all I can say. I have a 2010 Avensis and the driver's temp control (Auto) is very erratic, especially in cold weather. I notice quite a few comments on here noting it's worse in the cold. In warm to hot conditions the control is much better...strange that. I assumed you could just remove the temp knob and clean the contacts off with contact cleaner. Had no idea you would need to remove so much trim and the radio too! It's certainly a task I will try to do when I'm brave enough! Also surprised how your temp goes up to 32. Mine goes to 30 and then shows 'HI'. Great video.

    Thanks, I fixed my AC this weekend thanks to this video. I will say be careful when bending the contact up too much as they nearly got caught and bend backwards. 👍

    Great video. I did this fix many years ago, and the controls are still working. I posted on the Toyota Avensis Owners forum UK showing the heater control contacts. I assume your the LCD or circuit board has failed. Best to get another unit.

    I have a 2016 T27, and has the same problem, but mine it wasnt very dirty and I only put electrical contact cleaner directly on the climate wheel and I turned the wheel at the same time many times.
    It works fine now, but it's probably newer and wasn't that dirty inside.
    Now once a year, I clean it from the outside with that contact spray

    Handy video, mine jumps around when the car is cold. Seems to get better when it warns up. I'll be sure to try this if it gets to jumping around all the time. :)
    I wondered if you had plans for doing a fuel filter change video? The only other one I can find on CZcams is not great and we would certainly benefit from a video with your clear instructions!

    god work but noticed that you removed grease which is used to softner and make movable contact go more smooth without damage to itself and board, I would say from my 35 years experience that that move is mistake. It will temporary fix problem, but problem will come back and even be worse and at the end not repairable any more.That grease was there by purpose. never removed it just make contact above press a bit more to board down, that wath you did last.

    Not as easy as the video shows especially in a car that hasn't been apart before that radio is barely fixed the Toyota radio has four screws which need to be removed because there are two tabs on the bottom of the radio holding in the climate control as well as the clips on the side .The centre vent and radio surround has to go to access the screws in my case the Ash tray had to go as well. The cleaning didn't work for me either but 50 euro bought a replacement from a breakers

  • @Alin-yb1zl
    @Alin-yb1zl Před 6 měsíci +1

    Toyota did a very stupid design for this climate controle, and very expensive, they know that someone will want to change it because everyone has this problems, they charge you with 700 800 euros...
