- Repeating his 1984 film role as Antonio Salieri, F. Murray Abraham reads Amadeus by Peter Shaffer, adapted for solo performance by Neville Teller. The eight parts which constituted the original performance have been edited together into one. Recorded for BBC Radio 2 in 2006.
I’m drunk and high; this is amazing
F. Murray Abraham could read the phone book and I'd be on the edge of my seat
He has a great voice.
Amadeus is my favorite movie, and to hear F. Murray Abraham read this novel is amazing.
F Murray Abraham is truly the Amadeus genius... under rated.... elegant.... truly interesting
Its raining outside, its cold, ive an electric fire on, im under a blanket on the couch and listening to this.. nice way to spend an evening
I am very pleased that they never made a part 2 or a remake of this movie. Some things should not be touched.
This is a brilliant masterful reading by F. Murray Abraham. Nuanced and expressive without being overly theatrical. And with fragments of Mozart's music as an added treat.
Listening to this after watching the film is absolutely fascinating, and having Abraham read it helps tons.
Fantastic! Just found this in 2020!
oh my gosh. amadeus has been my favorite movie since i was a kid. i can’t believe i’ve just uncovered this gem.
F. Murray Abraham is an actor of the highest caliber. On the level of an Anthony Hopkins. His Academy Award for his role as Salieri was well deserved. Why did we not see him in more big roles is not clear to me.
This voice is just 🤤
From Scarface to Amadeus to being a good Narrator too, even for Wildlife Documentaries, this is a well trained good actor right here.
"I am your patron saint. The patron saint of mediocrity." Gives me the shivers alright. . .
Anything F.Murray Abraham touches turns to pure gold.
We are HUGE FANS of Mr. F. Murray Abraham!!❤ What a PERFECT voice for ALL audio books; as long as he's reading we'll be happily LISTENING along...👏❣🇨🇦
Amazing !!! I've seen Amadeus at least a hundred times through the years, "listening" the movie was another thing. Such a beautiful tale told by Abraham.
What a performance. First the movie, now this. Wow.
I was in this twice, when performed by Amateur Dramatics in the 80’s- once as a citizen of Vienna & then as Constance Mozart- happy days❤️
