Fun Fact: If you equip Wayward Compass and Gathering Swarm at the same time, and you enter the Pantheon of Hallownest, you get instantly teleported to Abs Rad final phase

1.Gloving womb has interaction with the defender's crest. Your hatchlings become explosive.
2.Dream shield + the wielder charm = Better protection and the shield is closer to you
3.Gathering buggies can take geo from spikes (useful at the start of the game
4.Soul eater is a reward for people who are aggressive to attack. For you, you can heal more since you don't care about spells
5.Johnny's blessing is for fights where healing is hard. And you can use more spells... Not that good for you but using the Honeyblood will help.
6.The charm that you showed after Grimmchild just has a chance of blocking damage. Not worth killing Grimmkid for it

Carefree Melody is a bit complicated
It starts off with a 0% chance of blocking hits, the chances of blocking a hit increases with the amount of hits that weren’t blocked. When the charm blocks a hit, the chances reset to 0%. I’ll put at the end the odds of blocking depending on the amount of hits you took. On average the charm blocks 22.4% of hits and the chance of blocking do not reset if you remove the charm, meaning you can store a high chance of blocking for later.
0 = 0%
1 = 10%
2 = 20%
3 = 30%
4 = 50%
5 = 70%
6 = 80%
7+ = 90%

Sharp shadow is the best charm by far. With it you can easily dodge every pure vessel attack (except void tendrils)

Glowing Womb is the only minion that actually staggers bosses, so it's kinda useful...?
Might wanna mention that the fragile charms don't break upon death in the dream world, just like how steel soul save files don't die in there. This includes all the dream boss fights and the entirety of Godhome, but I think has the exceptions of the White Palace and the Radiance fight (non Absolute).
Yeah, White Palace deaths and Radiance deaths count as normal deaths
Gathering swarm helps with the "Geo in spikes" predicament-
Well... you don’t like half of the charms because you don’t use spells.

If you play agressively like the game wants you to, quick slash is actually one of the most useful charms. You get to wail on enemies, and pairing it with steady body lets you stay in range for more than a second

I mean it can be argued that the game wants you to play passive-aggressively lol. Some of the harder fights only allow you to get one or two good hits before you're forced to back off. Also with Quick Slash, you can get into the habit of face tanking enemies, which might shred some bosses and in other cases, end up with you losing a lotta health.
Personally it never worked for me, and I didn't like the knockback either. Ever since getting Unbreakable Strength, and pairing it with Mark of Pride and Shaman Stone, I've never looked back.

1/3 of the bosses won't give you time to heal too much nor use spells fully safely. This is a perfect charm for those. The combo with Crest seems cool, but it covers the whole freaking screen, so you can't see the enemy's movements, so it's pretty much trash (the combo).

Cuz only a handful of charms are usefull in fights, and which ones are usefull depends on the fight. Unbrakable Life and Greed are usefull, but I highly doubt you'll have any use or them on radiant bosses.
I'm not saying this charm is top tier, but it's a nice addition when nothing else will help you.
You can absolutely sneak in DDark and shade soul in nearly any boss fight.
I once tried to do that failed champ cheese by using glowing womb, defenders crest, dream shield, and weavers, and after about 10 minutes of holding c-dash I gave up and decided it would be faster to just fight the boss normally. It was. It was way faster. (Also I agree with the person above this comment, on every boss it’s safe to use descending dark/desolate dive)

Bruh, ofc, that's trash dmg + trash dmg, if you don't want to use nail (which is kinda missing the point of the game tbh), then Grimmchild is a must. Damge is half of pure nail if I remember correctly, but attack speed is kinda bad.
Still, I love Grimmchild :3
It's not a game changer, but it's still a pretty damn good help.
Weaversong , I love my little spiders and if I had to choose I would chose weaversong.weaversong, yes , weaversong . It is just the best charm besides wayward compass of course

Only people who suck at hollow knight don't use magic
Some notes and opinions:
1. Steady Body stops the purple mushrooms in the fungal wastes from tossing you around in random directions, so I kept it on any time I needed to do difficult pogoing sections before I had Isma's tear.
2. I use Gathering Swarm when grinding to grab geo before it lands in water, acid, or somewhere inaccessible, in addition to my laziness of course.
3. I feel like Glowing Womb could have been *moderately* viable if it was only one notch.
4. Joni's Blessing can be combined with Hiveblood to give you lots of lifeblood combs that slowly recover over time. It's very helpful for annoying and difficult platforming like the White Palace, and *maybe* for certain boss fights that don't give you time to heal.
5. Unbreakable Charms don't break in dream fights OR if you just have them unequipped in your inventory.
6. Seriously, upgrade unbreakable strength. It's expensive, but the 50% increase to your nail damage makes a significant difference. Quick Slash, Unbreakable Strength, and Grubsong are my best friends.

Glowing womb has combo with defender's crest, they just become explosives with double dmg, but they also makes a lot of chaos, so focusing (I mean your focus, not healing) on boss might be difficult.
Cant get geo in acid
Nailmaster's Glory: lets you one-shot most enemies with highly powerful nail arts that make hitting enemies from far away trivial and can rack up a ton of damage in less than a second, AND it lets you have those nail arts almost instantaneously

As a console player: holding the button does make jumping a little more annoying, but it's totally worth it. Except it doesn't have space in my Strenght+Quick Slash+Mark of Pride+Spell Twister build, and I don't want to remove Spell Twister for Nail master's glory because none of the other 1 notch charms interest me

TECHNICALLY voidheart makes your shade not attack you so it’s not COMPLETELY useless
It doesn’t matter how many charms you equip it’s hard to defeat Zote boss fight
Void heart does have a use, which might as well not exist, it make the siblings enemys passive, and they only appear in the abyss, so void heart is only useful for new endings, so mostly useless, costs zero notches, and is always equipped, so basically nonexistent until the end of the hollow knight fight, which gives 2 new endings, oh well, you’ll probably forget about it right after you get it.
Well, it does make your shade passive if I remember correctly, and also makes it 1 hit.
"Deep Focus is useless"
During boss fights, yes, but it's also really good for the White Palace.
Yeah... the problem with Weaver+Grubsong is that bosses constantly get knocked out of stagger and it takes away one of the main opportunities to heal during some fights. But other than that, it's amazing. I do like it a lot, tbh.

suggesting stalwart shell for radiant fights. 10/10 suggestion. Almost as good as wandering compass for radiant fights (I mean, it was part of my setup for radiant abs rad, and all of the victory was the wandering compass's work.)

Also, I would like to correct past me because stalwart shell can be useful for radiant fights in 0.001% of situations, unlike compass or swarm or greed which is 0%.

For everyone who think that Spore Shroom is trash, it can be combined with Defenders Crest to create a stink cloud that attacks with the damage of Defenders Crest and the range of Spore Shroom at the cost of the massive cloud disappearing slightly faster

didn't think id disagree with everything you said but lol. anyways that afid baby hatching pin, i don't remember the name, is actually very good with defender's crest, because they get the fart clouds too and explode on impact. for battles like the hanging cocoon that spits out flying things, i just did steady body, defenders crest, and the womb one and stood off to the side killing anything that came near me and letting the babies defeat the boss.
honestly my fav charms would be fury of the fallen, not because it helps but it just looks awesome lol, then hive blood since i usually want to move more than heal often times and this gives me the ability to solely focus on dodging instead of the unnecessary stress of healing, next would be defenders crest and then nailmasters glory, i often forget to use these because i just blank when im on a bench and by the time i get them im just thinking about what boss i wanna fight next lol, grubsong and compass are staying on forever i dont care lol it gives me motivation to keep going

4:53 I'm gonna go with bored. He killed Baldr because that's what started the apocalypse, according to some other god with prophecy powers. Why did he want to start the apocalypse? Because it's Loki!
Also, for anyone curious, the reason he had Hod kill Baldr with holly was because that prophetic god made every single thing in the world promise not to hurt Baldr, with the exception of holly, because she thought holly was harmless. This made Baldr invulnerable to literally everything except holly. After Loki learns this, he makes what I think is a dart out of holly and gives it to Hod (who was blind btw). This was because the gods had made a game out of trying to kill Baldr at parties, throwing axes and whatever at him. Anyway, Loki guides Hod's hand (literally) and Baldr died.

Well, carefree actually increases its chance by 10% per hit you take without activating it, starting at 10%. It's pretty reasonable to say It'll save you once every 4 masks or so, for 25% damage reduction. Plus, it's abusable in Radiant fights. That alone is reason enough to say it needs no buffs.
Christian P. Try using it on Absolute Radiance though and see if it saves you after 4 hits 😅

grimmchild should interact with other charms, atleast in his final phase. cmon. the only thing he does is blast millibelle and the white lady gives u some dialogue about him. why not give him a nightmare form (like nkg/troupe master grimm) where he is stronger if youre in a dream fight or using dream wielder or something
