Maybe he had a crappy connection and de-sync made you invisible on his screen or something.

Iirc the wing rock occurs because you're on the edge of breaking away from forward flight, hence opposite aileron making things much worse. Honestly scary shit
The F-14 doesn't have ailerons, it has _spoilers_ on the swing wings. It induces downward force (and a little yaw) by killing lift whereas ailerons produce upwards force. Spoilers feel weird, but a number of aircraft use them. The F-4 had both spoilers and ailerons and was more responsive at slow speeds. In theory, the spoilers were supposed to produce helpful yaw, but wound up being unhelpful and creating a low-speed wallow which the pilot couldn't do much about.
@@TroySpace yep 100% should say opposite stick! I can’t remember why they didn’t use ailerons but I do remember there was a main reason. I think do to the length of the wing? Do you know? After I did some reading it looks like all the variable wing designs of the time went with spoilers - I’m not sure they had the tech back then to allow the flaps to act in concert with the ailerons like an 18 (flaperons?) so with the 14s big roll inertia needed spoilers and a huge trailing edge flap for landing on a boat.

@@1155jayjay to be fair i have taken a couple Phoenix to the face that were launched at hostiles in a furball or that were between me and the Tomcat ..the bandit was killed before and the Phoenix went pitbull and what first found was lucky me.. On the other hand i have had more than a couple deliberate Phoenix launched at me from same side as well

@@DrKrote Flat panel 2080S minimum, VR what ever the new top of line graphics card is. Lots of 3090's and now 4090's. Multithreading next year will lower requirements a little as the CPU can pick up more of the load and get us some frames back. 32gb of ram is minimum as this game will eat it up. This game as a whole eats all available resources like a starved child at a buffet .

The tomcat will go into wing rock if you get too slow. You can’t stop it, if you apply opposite aileron it makes it worse. Rudder and throttle
