- For today's video, Brian sat down with someone very special to him. Just over 30 years ago, Brian's mom Sherry was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we wanted to invite her on to share her story as a 30-year survivor.

Not always but I always figure that a “mama’s boy” is a respectful man and hopefully a good husband and good father figure to a child. 😊 May your mom be always healthy and grow to be very very old!
When she answered, "Who's going to raise my kids?" I teared up! This is something every mom worries about. She is an inspiration!
Sherry is my very dear friend and I remember when she went through cancer. She is quite a wonderful woman! One of her most amazing accomplishments is sitting right next to her!
I don't know her. I'm just a Krocks subscriber, but she does seem wonderful.
Such a beautiful Mom. She looks so young, her skin is beautiful.
When my mom got cancer the first time, my brother was in elementary school, I was in middle school and my sister was in high school. She said a similar thing. "I cannot die, no one can raise my children like I can." She didnt want to die and have my sisters senior year a memory of her death. She went through chemo, hairloss and weightloss. She had a double mastectomy and was cancer free for 14 years....then it came back as bone cancer. She felt the "soreness" your mom talked about in her arms. She likened it to when you fall asleep with your arms over your head and they are sore when you move them". She passed away 19 years ago. Still hurts like it was yesterday💔 she was my most favorite person on earth too. AND I am like her in so many ways. 🌻 sending an extra big hug to your mom.

I'd like to thank Brian's mom for coming on and talking about her experience. I think those of us who are lucky enough not to have had to deal with breast cancer can talk until we're blue in the face and not have an impact like the breast cancer survivor who says "please get your mammogram". You may have saved a life, Mrs. Krock (or would you prefer Sherry?).
What a beautiful soul! My mom was diagnosed in the mid 80s, and I overheard her on the phone with someone. She was crying and saying she didn’t know what she was going to do with her kids, and that we were so young. We lost her five years later 😢 Thank you Mrs. Krock and Brian! You look amazing, and thank God you are alive and healthy! 🤗

You have a beautiful momma, Brian. My mom had cancer when I was younger. It was a difficult time in my family’s lives. She survived as well. I truly believe her faith and all the prayers brought her through it. She was also a fighter. Thank you so much for sharing you story❤️

Thanks, Brian’s Mom, for sharing your cancer story. I lost my mom to pancreatic cancer in 1981 when I was 6 yo and God bless my dad for his courage to raise me and my 4 yo sister. It’s important to have more conversations about cancer.

Your mom is sooo pretty Brian! My mom did not get her mamograms and was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in 2010. She had all the treatment, surgery, and lymphedemis in her arm the same way your mom had. Unfortunately, it came back in 2013 all over her body and she passed away that yr at 62. Thanks for sharing your mom's story.

I just finished breast cancer treatment after my 2020 diagnosis. My boys are older teens and their well-being was the first thing on my mind. Cancer is a mind game and I’m going to be playing it as long as I’m on the planet, I fear. So glad you still have your mama.

Thank you for posting. I just got diagnosed with stage 2 triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma and got a mastectomy last month. I'm at the beginning of the journey. So glad Sherry is doing well after 30 years! That's hopeful for me!

Hi, Mrs. Krock! Congrats on your blessed healing. Brian is very proud of you, I know this by the way he speaks of you and and the joy on his face as he does it.
My mom died at 65 and 4 yrs after diagnosis of breast cancer. She had a lumpectomy then the next week a mastectomy. No lymph nodes were involved. She had chemo and radiation. I miss her very much!

There is so much crap and fear mongering on social media and then there are the Krocks sharing their lovely heart warming stories and connections. I lost my mom 28 years ago and this just warms me up and makes me feel GOOD about the world. Thank you for sharing your mom!
I’m so glad your mom made a full recovery . My mom actually passed away in 1990 from Breast cancer . Prayers for her continued good health going forward. Also thankyou to your mom for telling her story 🙏❤️
Thanks to Brian's Mom for sharing her story. I'm glad she had a good outcome. I'm 62 and had breast cancer when I was 48. Stage II. Went through the whole treatment and am doing well today. During Covid, actually it was June 7, 2020, after reading a library e-book titled, "What the Health" and then watching that movie and Forks Over Knives, that my husband and I decided to go plant based so that we could live the remainder of our lives as healthy as we could. He was planning to retire this fall and so we wanted to up our chances of having a long retirement together. He lost 85 lbs. and I lost 52 lbs. The WFPB SOS way of eating lowered both of our blood pressures and cholesterol. He was on a statin medication and was able to go off of it. We are happy to have found Brian & Jessica and a whole bunch of Planties that we love to follow.

Thanks to your mom for speaking out for breast cancer testing. The annual test found my cancer and possibly saved my life when my wonderful son was only 15 years old. I’m so glad your mom is healthy.

Sherry, thank you so much for sharing your story. You are a very strong woman. You and Brian have such a loving relationship. He is a wonderful person. You and his Dad must be so proud. I'm curious...... Do you still have your teapot of verses? They may have been for you, but Brian remembers them 30 years later. We touch our children's lives in so many ways without even realizing it. I hope we see more of you in the future! :-)
Just a note. I worked as a secretary in the hospital and in oncology. Men can and do get breast cancer. So men need to take any lumps in their chests seriously.

My mom is a 2x breast cancer survivor👊👊. I can't imagine how much harder it would have been had we been children at the time of her diagnosis and treatment.

Thank you mom and Brian, you are a very brave lady you guys are great together! Love your tea pot with Bible verses! Last year In April got diagnosed with breast cancer. I was stage 2. I got surgery a lumpectomy, and plastic surgery. Then 4 Chemo treatments... yes lost all my hair! My hair is growing back now it’s short. Then 16 Radiation treatments. I am now taking hormonal treatment for 10 years. Thank you so much for sharing your story. PLEASE BEWARE: 1 out of 8 women get cancer. PLEASE get your yearly mammogram!
