Doing some rough calculations, thomas was hitting with over 300,000 lbs of force and Roy with over 200,000 at point of impact. All things considered. That little anvil held up alright
The heel on most London pattern anvils is usually the weakest spot, so that breaking off didn't surprise me at all. I mean, for the money... Show me better.
Really can't show you better bang for the Buck... In my opinion this anvil in normal use would last a complete newb decades.
Not bad at all for such a heavy beating! Thank you guys!
You bet!
We are waiting for the same test in the double horn German-made anvil on your side.
That won't be happening lol
@@ChristCenteredIronworks 🙂🙋♂️
considering the 66 twin horn passed i was expecting it to have a better grain, breaking fair enough its at a double weak point in being the thinnest part and through the hole
That right there is a perfect example of why you make a mild steel striking anvil if you’re going to be using sledgehammers
It could be a Handy option especially if you do a lot of that type of work
Id say it did better than I expected
Thank you for the useful information.Good video!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Ouch. Thanks for the science!! 🤠❤⚒🔥
Any time!😉
Poor anvil 😅
If the coyote switched to Vevor he'd catch that darn road runner.
Lol and he would be still able to forge with it afterwards 😉
Show me an anvil that size that will stand up to that abuse.
It did what I expected. I knew the tail was going to break off but it should be able to withstand normal usage.
You fellows gave her the beans. No doubt.
Tbh i wasnt surprised the tail broke off and expected it to fracture thru the hardy hole.
Thanks for sharing this. I believe it proves once again the vevor 66lb London pattern is the best in class for the money spent. Good test. Lets see whats next for this little gal 😊
Blessings abundant Sir
Crawford out 🙏🔥⚒️🧙🏻♂️
We agree!
Thanks Mr Crawford for taking the time to watch
Thanks for this, it pushed me to buy my first hardy hole. Kind of a big deal for me.
Glad I could help!
I wish someone would do the same tests on the more reputable contemporary anvil makes/models (i.e. Emerson, Scott, JHM, TFS) to see how they hold up. I know that would be expensive for the tester
They're coming in the future 😉
oof thats a lot of work!
But does it grind coffee in the morning?
Thanks for the video!
It appeared to have pretty good rebound, was that the case?
Yes in the original review video we got 90% rebound on the ballbearing drop test
Impressive in the fail...also in the earlier review. Worth looking into
For the price, I’m not mad about this performance at all. I am kind of mad that you killed a perfectly good little anvil. Can I have the pieces?
I would love to have the "scrap" to use as a knife maker anvil!!
HAMMER TIME! it held up pretty good to a couple of "Primitive Petes" pounding on it.
Lol love it "primitive Pete's" 🔨💪🔨💥
Such a pitty to mess up those sweet dressed edges 😊
Tell me about it😜
I knew that tail was going to break that seem to be the weakest part of that anvil someone else said that as well in their review, they were worried that that would break off overtime
HAMMER
Do this with a Holland Anvil
well everybody knew that tail was a gonner
Im not certain that my Peter Wright or Swedish anvils would withstand that much abuse on the tail.
They probably wouldn't.... And would cost 8x The Price. Thanks for watching
These tests are great but its hard to tell without a good anvil as a control. Will you and Thomas take some sledge hammers to Olga as a control???
Sorry, I'll see myself out 😂😂😂
Lol please do
@@ChristCenteredIronworks😅
Send it back and see if they warranty it
Lol probably not
The shipping alone to send it back would be astronomical which is why I'd never buy one of these when for roughly the same price point, Harbor Freight sells that 65 pound Doyle.
At least with Harbor Freight, if there are any issues, just return it to the store and that eliminates any shipping costs.
You may either choose to get a refund or an exchange depending on what their stock levels are at the time with no questions asked.
I am not saying the brands that HF are selling are any better than Vevor. But, why deal with the added shipping costs if you experience any issues when there is at least one retailer who is willing to remove that issue from the equation in order to secure your business?
Just the design of the anvil? It's thin compared to the thick tapered heel of a German pattern.
I got tired just watching you guys.
It was fun and exhausting 😂
2nd comment!
Was any information you learned in this filming worth your eyes?? Put your bloody safety glasses on your face man
Watch again this time closer...
@ChristCenteredIronworksHa,I need the glasses, you sold me on the little anvil though the horn took it well,of course the heel was going to go.Thanks Roy
