My bump feed has never worked right, but my GOD this video was INCREDIBLY HELPFUL!!!!!!!
@@barbarat5729 Thank you.
A lifesaver for me thank you very much. I'm on day 10 of a 10-day notice to clean up this grown large lot. I rented a Makita machine as the coil is going down in my shindaiwa. The rental shop is closed for the weekend. Young man who handed me the trimmer gave me some line and said a lot of people don't respool something like that. Thought I knew how to do that but I did not know this is a new animal. Also I was not able to use my phone to watch a video or any information on the internet as my charge port line failed. So you are the savior of the day. Thank you very much. I'm sole caregiver for my wife who had a major stroke it 44 I used to be a TV news reporter but she had that stroke in 2007 I quit work and now 24-7 full-time caregiver for my wife. My expertise is short-format video.. with that in mind, if I may make a suggestion that will Garner you many more viewers than what you'll have currently which will be a lot. My advice is break this video into two subjects not part 1 and part 2 it's going to be a different name for each video. Google likes short quick crisp video. The end viewer wants something that's quick to the point. and explained well by someone who knows what they're doing. That is you. I'm not saying talk faster I'm just saying look at your video and ask what you can leave off what's not important to this particular story. If you have something this important make a new video. call it something different but yes I think you did an excellent job on this video thank you so much for your work, very good, fine work.
I agree… this is MUCH better the. The manufacturer’s video!
@@sgiske Thanks!
Thank you for putting out a video better than the manufacturer 👍🏼
Our pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it.
Exactly! Thanks for the video!
A special thanks for getting straight to the point and sparing everyone from annoyingly loud music.
Amen, very true.
absolutely.
Omg….I could hug you! I spent half of my afternoon trying to restring my new cordless Makita trimmer. I went over and over the instructions that came with the trimmer….. which were Greek to me! They need to hire you as a go to video on doing this! Thank so much!👍🏻
Thank You! Glad it was helpful.
It’s a love hate relationship!! 😂
After years of using this trimmer, your video has showed me the correct way to string it. So easy! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful.
@@SeidelRanch Im looking to buy one i am bit scared cuz it will my first electric machine! can it work on only 1 battery or i need to plug 2 to working ? if 1 can i work 20/30 min? with a 5ah? thanks !
same here....haa
So glad you made this video. Great trimmer with the worst restring trimmer manual diagram instruction. Many thanks to you.
Glad it was helpful. Thanks!
This is the best explanation and demonstration I've come across. Thank you so much for putting this content out. You are truly appreciated.
Thank you. That was very nice.
Oh my gosh, Thank You. I have been battling restringing my Makita for months.
I had a gardener help, didn't work. Had a neighbor help, still didn't last.
My daughter and I decided to tackle it today and although we had to watch a couple of times, we got it working.
Saving this for next time.
Thank YOU!
Glad I could help!
I just bought this trimmer and wow, you explained it very very well! I'm impressed with this design. My old trimmer only has the cumbersome manual winding method and it always wants to unravel before I can slide the head back on. I'm gonna love this trimmer!
Yeah, it's one of my favorites. I think it will treat you right for a long time.
I was not happy with this trimmer's loading feature shown in the manual and not fond of the trimmer for that reason. After watching your video, my opinion has changed for the better. Excellent job!!! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for the comment.
Oddly I just through put my owners Manuel and then I ran out of string. Tried on my own didn’t work. Found this video and it’s so simple. Thank you
Thanks for the great video. I don’t understand why there’s not a better way that this could be designed to make it faster and more intuitive. Without this video I had no idea how to do this and what the various holes were. This seems like an invention waiting to happen.
Yeah, I have to admit these heads can be a challenge. I have been using bump heads for years and that is pretty much the only reason I am somewhat proficient with them. Even though I use them often, I still like this head better: czcams.com/video/JUl1kR8pZ5M/video.html
Thanks man short and to the point I’m sure we all appreciate it.
Glad it helped
I was always hesitant to do this myself. You made it easy! Thank you!!
Glad I could help!
Thank you for showing both ways. I’ve been using the first part of your video for about a year. The second part just helped me today because I could not feed the string through.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks.
Nicely done! I bought this trimmer thanks to your video.
Glad I could help!
Best video on this anywhere. Many thanks.
I wish I’d seen this yesterday… you answered all my questions. THANK YOU! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Glad it was helpful. Thanks.
Thank u. Bought one last year. Always took it apart to get line on. Didnt know i could feed it thru without takin it apart. Appreciate it
Glad I could help. Either way is fine. The good think is you already know the hard way in case you need it. 👍
Thank you. Very helpful and got me up and running in less than time than it took to watch the video!
Glad it helped!
Saved the day! Your video is so clear. I was ready to abandon the job after trying to decipher what the manual had to say. Thanks so much.
Glad it helped
Thank you! This video is such a lifesaver!!
I agree with everyone who tells you how great and easy to follow this video is. I really struggle to do this job and you’ve made it som much easier
Glad it was helpful! Thanks.
You are my fantasy hubby. You explain everything patiently and clearly and SLOW. Thank you for making me feel capable🥰
Thanks. So glad it was helpful.
Excellent instruction much better than Makita's. I put a shortcut of your video in Amazon. I spent a couple hours trying to follow the useless instruction from the manufacturer. Thank you!!!
Awesome, thank you! Glad it helped.
Thank you very much. Your demonstration was great and thorough.
Glad it was helpful!
Made my day seeing this video solved the problem I was having all good now. Thanks so much!!

Awesome. Glad it helped.

Very helpful, thanks for taking the time to make this video.
Glad it was helpful!
thank you very much...now i understand how it works and how to deal with the "string issue" in both ways...great.....cheers.
Glad it was helpful.
This was an excellent video! I am not at all mechanically inclined, but I watched this a few times and did the steps along with the video, pausing as necessary, and was successful! I got the trimmer at a friend's yard/moving sale so didn't have the directions. I love it - lightweight and so much quieter than gas trimmers. I bookmarked the video for future reference. Thank you!
Happy it was helpful. Thanks.
Thank you my friend you would not believe how long I have been trying to do this even the manual is vague or I am perhaps haha thank you from Australia
Glad it was helpful. Thanks.
I knew this trimmer was good, but your video makes it even better. My Toro trimmer is a pain to string. Into the trash it goes.
Thank you. Glad it was helpful.
You make it seem so simple! I was really struggling to do this. thank you for helping
Happy to help!
Thanks for this awesome video! It's made very well and explains the change of the thread absolutely idiot proof.
I accidently pulled to thread back to far and it didn't come out anymore. This helped me a lot!
Thank you. Glad it was helpful.
Wow! I thought that I had to take the head off to re string it for all these years! This is a lot easier!
Glad it helped!
Thanks! Clear, thorough explanation!
Thank you. Glad it was helpful.

You are welcome. Glad it was helpful.
You have changed my life!!! Thank you for this.
Happy to help
Thank you so much for this! You have helped many people! You’re awesome!
Happy to help!
Thanks. When replacing line, how long do you cut the new line?
I use two arm span lengths which is about 11-12 ft. That is my go to for about any trimmer head.
Thanks for the help! Had a bit of a tough time with method one as the bump head refused to turn after a point, so I just trimmed the excess. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
Thank you this was perfect

Thanks!
Wow, thanks! Glad it was helpful.
Always liked my Makita trimmer but now that I know how to string it I’m so impressed with the way Makita made it SO EASY!!! Thank you! You da man!
Question: What are the holes drilled into the spool for? They led me to believe that they were there to hook the string on when restringing but now I know that is not the case.
Glad I could help! If you are talking about the ones on the spool in the inside of the head, they are to hold the line if you do it manually.
Great vid
Thank you.
Super helpful!!❤
Glad you think so!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! It sure beats reading the manual
Glad it was helpful. Thanks.
Excellent video. Just what I needed. The Manual that came with my trimmer is not very clear on how trimmer string replacement is done.
Glad it helped. Thanks.
