They should have simply made it a 5 seater, 7 seater is already available in XUV700. A vehicle which is targeted for spirited driving and enthusiasts didn't really need 7 seats. Also don't see the logic behind the sideway opening at the back, even the last row is front facing.
If they had made 5 seater then it ll not be lined up under scorpio series

I miss the space available in Xylo especially in 3rd raw.
Mahindra hasn't been able to create the same space in any car afterwards.
true we own a xylo since its inception and that 3rd row very usable for the adults too. For some time we have been trying out cars to replace our ageing xylo but none comes close to the 3rd row seating space, and we do need that space.
i think thats the difference between SUVs and MPVs

@@harrysingh199 we too own xylo since inception. And we too are a big family of 8. We traveled throughout India in Xylo. I and my brother we both are 6.3 but still we would sit comfortably in 3rd raw.

Loved the car! The boot is extremely disappointing. The rear seat doesn't split, no AC vents and lack of luggage space.

Scorpio looks beautiful and is powerful enough. You did not mention if it has Sun roof and ventilated seats.
It definitely does look quite imposing. Yay on the sunroof, nay on the ventilated seats.

Hydraulic hatch rear tailgate would have been a welcome addition to the new Scorpio. The side opening tailgate has lots of issues which no one discusses. It's a big missed opportunity for a premium upgrade by Mahindra.

The sheer leap of visualizing, executing and delivering a complete all round package speaks volumes about M n M foundation and relentless belief. Yes they tend to lean a lot in terms of design detailing on a lot already proven and approved out there, but that is all a part of the last day of a graduation thesis or deliverables we are a part of, where all the time is none of it and one has to pick a feather or two from his/ her immediate environment. But this Scorpio-N truly is now in a league of its own.
Hello sir, v nice review , I think you can help me with my query quite well.... I am decided to buy scorpio n and xuv 700 has long waiting ... now I am also in ncr and confused between petrol z4 at or diesel z6 at ... mahindra not offering z6 in petrol but with small more money...in z6 we get small sunroof and lot of feature like adrenox, 4x4 and driving modes etc... my initial budget was 12 lkh and difficult to extend more for z8 petrol at ... also as price of mahindra are introductory...so I think it will be good value buy but unable to decide between 15 year z4 petrol with less feature or 10 year z6 more feature... please share your opinion sir... running will be less than 600 km per month , occasionally may go to 1000 km once a month but my confusion is more about feature we can get in z6 and more milage we will get in z6 diesel as compared for z4 petrol

I think, they kept the boot door opening sideward intentionally. As the car is tall, if it opens upward, it will be untouchable for shorter people when its opened. In that case they needed to give electronic support which they cant due to the budget constraints. Think of it..

No, it doesn’t feel bouncy. And yes, the steering weighs up well. More so on the diesel.
Wider, longer is what the company is boasting.. however third row is a flop and a lot knees up position... only suitable for kids.. what's the point of all these claims 🙏 this is again is not a proper 6 or 7 seater for adults... it falls in the Datsun go plus category 😂😂😂😂😂

Scorpio if you want rugid suv and less luxury and bossed looked on road xuv700 if u want more pleasure driving and tech nd a class look on road
XUV 7OO and ScorpioN cater to 2 different set of customers...
One who is looking for a big, brawny, body on frame SUV with hardcore off road abilities, a proper 4×4 setup will go for ScorpioN.
One who is hunting for a smart, sharp looking highway cruiser, dynamic abilities, body control, brilliant ride quality, premiumness with a fair bit of offroading will pick up the XUV 7OO.
Ride quality, body control, performance (both gasoline nd diesel), stability is better in XUV 7OO because it is a Monocoque contruction.
But it can't even come close to ScorpioN when off the road and over bad roads, the latter feels indestructible.
No bad although the old scorpio looked intimidating and fearless whenever it floats the road! However this scorpio looks soft and easy going the old one though ran like clear the road kinda status!
Someone please teach mahindra to fix 2nd row and 3rd row seats on rails. Rail adjustment could have made 3rd row seat more usable.
Some BMW inspiration at front and ertiga/wagonR inspiration at the back (design wise)

Everything has been improved and enhanced in the Big Daddy except the Charm of SCORPIO.
If you will ask a person about this vehicle, who is not aware of the hype or propaganda created by the company, He cant recognize this Big Daddy as a Successor of the Legend SCORPIO.

Felt a little disappointed when they detuned the power from 185 to 175 ps for the diesel. But rest of it is perfect
It’s more than enough though. Flies on the highway. Of course, a little more power would always be nice 😁

I'll say this. I love cars like the Scorpio, because it is built for a purpose. Absolutely hate CUVs and crossovers. Prefer sedans over it.

For the majority of the Indian households, the crossovers and CUVs get the job done. Hence they sell more. The styling, features and the image car offers are important too. A lot of people are not looking for the utilitarian image Scorpio offers.

Mahindra have done a good job - The only reason many will not by - Simply due to the way the seats are folded... it can not be used for long trips...

Ftom the front it is muscular and a big YES but from the rear end its a Big NO talking about the design elements and even the rear seating row.
1) How is roof strength and rear impact strength and side impact strength ?
2) is whole body is corrosion resistant?
3) what is total build quality of the car?
4) what is total car quality and reliability ?
5) how good will be services support and service quality from mahindra ?
nothing in your list can be tested by a simple review.
Thanks for uploading this video. Is it worth spending 3+ lakhs more on xuv700 ax7 at petrol compare Scorpio z8 at petrol? Is the ride and handling of xuv700 exceptional compare scorpio-n? I cannot go for ax5 because of manual ac and no cc. I dont care about adas features.

This is the best car along with Thar that Mahindra has made....
Few of you will say XUV 700
But this ScorpioN will age beautifully
It is a new design but has been or atleast look like, been taken inspiration from LC Parado

Even at 20-22 lacs it a bargain.
Go and get the 175HP Diesel 4WD version.

Scorpio isn't going to be snatching from harrier/safari or XUV buyers. They are looking for a stylish family cruiser and not a BOF 4x4. If you look at the harrier safari sales chart the numbers have been steadily going up despite them not offering 4x4

Seats should've been able to fold flat so you could use the space to sleep while camping
Mahindra needs to sort out their design department. The rear end especially looks unsophisticated for such an expensive car. With the current highways that have been built and are being built the necessity for suv s is not that great anymore. A sedan or a hatchback would take you there much faster and in better comfort without guzzling a lot of fuel.
