    There's two types of vending machine for Japanese canned coffee. There's the standard "soda can" style that dispenses very warm cans of coffee. But then there's the "reverse-cooler" type of machine, usually in markets and restaurants, that have a glass door that you open and take your can. This type gets a lot hotter than the standard coffee dispenser (it's more of a toaster oven than a heated vending machine.) BTW, you're supposed to shake the can well and drink it straight from the can. You're only supposed to pour it in a glass or mug if you're drinking it cold.

      Thanks Marvin! I wouldn't normally drink it out of a glass. I just did that so that viewers could see the color of the coffee.
