Dude is exactly as scared as he should be. The world can't function without him. I'm being serious. His job is to annoy the brave guy who can't wait to go sea monster hunting. Which makes the brave guy pay more attention, and not be a complete idiot. And the brave guy, in turn, gives just enough push so that the scared guy doesn't just freeze up when poo collides with fan.
Neither changed, but both increased their survivability.

Fun fact about this game: one of the biome ideas was the single cell biome. It was suppossed to be an empty water mass with black Venom-like creature covering the whole seafloor. I had to save the game and walk away for a bit before I could calm down enough to come back and try to slowly and carefully work my sub back out of the corner. Honestly, a big part of why I like these videos is that I like to see other people fight through and kick the ass of a phobia I also have. It kinda feels comforting in a way, seeing someone else be strong as well when I know just how deep that fear can run.

The most epic intro to a Subnautica video I've seen in some time lol. I also love the fact when a player realise that they have two options. 1. Stay in the "safe zone" or 2. Go deeper for the resources they REALLY want and need. And if you are wondering "why" we play this game, I think you're starting to understand why (even if you don't like it). We don't play the game cuz we love it, we play the game BECAUSE we hate it. Cool vid. I'm not going to stop watching if you're wondering, sorry LOL! This is too entertaining to stop watching and you know it.

I can’t wait to watch the rest of your fear-conquering journey.

Back to "Subnautica," with great trepidation. It's not a "can-do attitude," it's more like "what's next?" 3:14 Your first Leviathan is, fortunately, indifferent to you. Got all the Seamoth fragments? Not so fast, Buster Brown. Avery Quinn is coming for YOU! Other players have braved the wilds of Planet 4546B waters with only a Seaglide. Yes, explore all wrecks. Fear is the mind killer. You have died, get back on the horse. 9:26 Your personal Air Bubble, time to (sorta) "go deep." Dead again, keep your Repair Tool on hand. 14:38 Welcome to Gun island, explore it from top to bottom. "The 'Sundance' was landing"? LOL. Explore the Quarantine Enforcement Facility. The lore of Planet 4546B is multi-layered. I see from your PDA categories that you didn't explore either island from top to bottom. Most players start small, and the Multipurpose Room is a significant step up.

What a king, going through something that causes you so much trauma. Even true kings would use their power to avoid such a thing, but not you. You put yourself THROUGH IT for us. I have sympathy, because I live in the American south, and am justifiably terrified of the water. Credit to you though, that emetic response looks and sounds painful. The way you described, in the first episode, a reoccurring dream about floating deafly through space only to turn around and realize you didn't see a MASSIVE PLANET behind you, I just knew you were going to have a tough time in this game.
The only thing that would make the game worse is if you could feel those sudden temperature changes like in actual bodies of water. That TERRIFIES ME every single time.

Look i'm not even a subnautica fan, but seeing you feel so intense emotions damn, it's refreshing and magnetic. You make us feel this game on another perspective, like we're not in front of a screen but actually there, freaking out in front of the deep unknown, feeling how difficult would be to cross again that sort of deep canyon underneath you. It's a totally different content for us, this is why you got so many views. I've rapidly checked your channel and I'm glad to see you keep playing this game. It truly feels like a documentary haha.
Did you ever imagine? Your greatest weakness becomes the hinge of your success. Very inspiring.

2:40 Funny thing about difficulties of scuba diving.... Although most obviously don’t have fear of deep water, they can still get in trouble if they become too panicked or stressed. The content of most tanks means that if they breathe too fast or irregular they don’t get enough oxygen and can fall unconscious. Thus the big professionals that go at deeper depths or do cave diving do have to do some mental training of that sort. An ecology professor of mine showed a video with him and a diving buddy getting confronted by a great pacific octopus. They’re not a threat but the close call came from remaining calm with the sudden encounter.

Slight tip for exploring areas: I noticed you have a few mods installed, and I'd reccomend the "unlockable map" mod that adds areas you've explored to a blank map in the PDA. It makes knowing what has and hasn't been explored much easier without spoiling anything like a full map would. Also, the enormous stingray-looking things (called reefbacks) are actually friendly- they're docile and they will only visit "safe" biomes that don't have huge predators. If the reefies are overhead, things will probably be okay.

Most people seem to react with at least some uneasiness with the deep water in the game, but I actually felt the opposite.
