Don't actually need all 4 power cables for the adaptor, 2 cables it won't boot but 3 cables will provide the card a 100% power target, therefore upto 450 Watts, the 4th cable will technically allow the card to draw upto 600 watts or 133% power target (i have the exact same card)
Tell me more, 2 cable + 1splitted its fine?
@@alessandrodivito7068 No absolutely not, you need to use a minimum of three separate cables from the power supply to the GPU, i was just trying to explain that you don't need all 4 cable, although you would probably be best using all 4 to ensure maximum power supply if you can. I have mine connected up with all 4, but three would do in a pinch but nvidia designed the adaptor with 4 cables for a reason and who am i to argue with them 🙂
@@Soupladel for this that I have red led on the gpu right? The cable have presence sensor inside?
Yeah, when my system is powered down, there is a red light right next to the 12vhpwr connector
@@Soupladel its seems so strange, normally a red led show problem....
Just got mine can't wait to install it 🥰
It was awfully nice of them to include a graphics card with that gigantic cooler you bought.
Heheh
Since 4090 release. I continuously checked the web, no success, frequented my local Micro center in Tustin, California, 30 miles round trip, and no success. 1 week after ceasing my effort, i went to micro center in the afternoon on a Friday to get cable combs. I showed up right when a re-stock of these went on the shelf. I was able to get one. The fit and finish is awesome, feels well built. I went with a Fasgear power cable. its on amazon. so far it works great.
Found one today at that store. But it is too high for my case. :-(
This version of Saul Goodman is truly hilarious
Hope to be able to afford it one day 😪 still on an RTX 2070.
Great video! What case are you using in this?
Corsair 5000D
I didn't know that Saul Goodman perform PC components reviews now. I guess lawyer business may be going bad...
Corsair has a special cable for the 4090 for order. You don’t need a new pcu
What case / model are you using?
Are you Aussie mate? Didnt even know you needed to plug 4 individual PCIe cables to this thing! I just got my Zotac 4090 yesterday. Glad i came accross your channel mate. Subbed!
Aussie bloke. Some people are using 3 cables with one piggy backed. Each 8 pin PCIe cable is 150W (they can do more) so best to have 4X 150w pcie 8 pin to equal 600w plug on the GPU
@@TallyHoTech The zotac reach 700w with 4x and 500 with 3x
If you loosen the screw on the bracket, pull out the foot and reverse it to use as a screwdriver.
Ijust received it today. I bought a Thermaltake ToughPower GF3 source, I put all the cables and when I started it smoke came out of the power source. I tested separately the power source now and it blows the fuzzes in my house.Luckily the motherboard still works but now I need to bet my money back on the power source and get a new one :((
Dang I wanted to see the plugs go into the gpu
Still haven’t seen one video with the non OC version. I didn’t consider the oc for a second. Literally like burning $200. Exactly the same as non oc. The strix imo looks worse and is otherwise exactly the same in performance. I know it’s slightly different cooing.. anyway… I just installed the non oc version of course and it’s good. Had an issue where it wouldn’t boot from having too high of a mem clock and wouldn’t trip the driver to reset… not good. Finally got it to boot. No need to oc any of these as they’re not efficient above 400w. 300 is probably the sweet spot
O and I’m using an hx750i psu. It’s fine
I decided against the TI OC’d ROG edition for another $200. although it claims to have 16 gigs of ram versus the 12 gigs my 4090 has.
is that the 4000d airflow case?
I have this card it’s a speed demon compared to my old RTX 580 Radion. I just learned the nifty magnetic screwdriver doubles as the prop stick for the fat ass end of the card. Screwdriver/Prop stick +1 with magnet on end (how do they work)
did you have any issues fitting your glass back on? i have the same case and just bought the same gpu. im worried the glass wont fit back on though? did yours still fit ok with too much bending of the pcie cables by the gpu??
No
I am on the fence between 4070Ti Super Dual and 4070Ti Super TUF. I own Strix 3090 and although its a big and heavy card it doesn't sag at all so I don't use the anti sag bracket and tbh. I really don't like them and will try to avoid using them, just don't like the looks.
Could you tell me if the TUF sags at all without any support or you need to use it. Tbh. and as silly that might sound that part is deal breaker for me. I hope you can let me know soon as possible.
Thank you sir
What game are you playing at the end?
Wow someone won the lottery! 🤣 What a big boy
It’s a review unit but I suppose I will get a Strix. 😎 Really do t want to spend that amount. Have a great weekend anyway
The beauty of this card, is with a custom fan curve to keep it running at 40% min and go up to around 75% when it reaches above 65 degrees. Don't need to increase power limit (even though can go +33%)! Go +121 core +500 vram. As long as you have a decent case with proper airflow it rarely ever gets hot enough to downclock below 2910mhz core. Mine lives in the 2955-2985mhz all day long.
The other lovely thing about this card. I have a i5-14600kf @ 5.8ghz all P-Cores with arctic cooler 360mm AIO, DDR5 (2x32gb) cl32, NZXT Elite H7 case with upgraded rear 140mm fan (much quieter than the stock one) + an LG C3 42" Monitor/TV. 4K
As the card barely makes a sweat, and no matter what I don't seem to get screen tearing regardless how many fps. If say you play Rocket League, just frame cap it in game to 240fps and this cad will live under 100watts and maintain low latency ms.
Have tested over 10 different RTX 4090s in one of my computer stores and the VRMs on this particular Asus OC with that box with the edges has the highest quality VRMs.
Naturally, I have tested to see how well it can perform at max when power setting is not on balanced and you don't care about the environment or power bills. Where setting a RTX 4080 OC are able to perform above 120fps in pretty much everything maxed at 4k, you will find, you will leave it uncapped and it uses a fair bit more wattage. The beauty of having so much beautiful hardware on the board of this 4090 is if you want you can allow it to go stable 3060mhz +1400vrm with a custom voltage/freq. Rock solid.
End of the day, its the overall best when you have your setting right and the CPU and ram are running at decent speeds with a z790 mboard. That can live high 2800s-3000mhz core and in game cap to both save power and heat.
Side note. I had a i9-14900k and a i7-14700k both OC with the same setup, but went with the i5-14600kf as it has the ability to OC higher and use a whole lot less energy and heat dissipation resulting in higher FPS in every single game. Maintaining both CPU, Ram and the GPU to never throttle.
Wow, never endorsed a product like this :/
My gpu only comes with the option of using the adapter and my 2 pcie’s cables that are split both have one head that just won’t plug in, any help would be really appreciative! This is my first Pc build and this is the last step I have to do before booting it up.
Nice gaming clip at the end but yes unbelievable you'll have to lower settings even with a 4090 🙄
Yer a lot of games are just CPU bound ;(
I have one question. I will buy a RTX 4080 , and i see it needs 4 cables. My question is, how can i connect them? My power suply have enough cables? is a NOX Urano TX850W ... Or i need to buy PCIe cables?
Woof that is one big GPU 😁
My back hurts now 😅
Got it to. Great card but the bracket is a mockery.
I prefer it over screwing some sort of bracket
Do you see a red light indicator when the PC is off near the power cable of the GPU?
Jokes on you. Bout to do a 4090 ITX build lol.
Wanted to see the 16 pin cable and what it plugs into. Am guessing it comes with the card and plugs into 2 PCI-E 6 or 8 pin connectors. Fail video for me.
im piggy backing with my founder edition 4090 and so far no issues
Thanks for sharing. 2x piggy back?
@@TallyHoTech yea I guess the 4090 is smart enough to know not to overdraw power that it doesn’t need
I just got this one today
They just need to make a cable that has the 16pin at one end and turns into the 4 pcie connectors near to the PSU.
Good idea
Cablemod and others made an extension cable
interesting results with the game play footage me personally im gonna see what amd do next WWWOOOFF
Very wise
i have fans at the bottom now how am i gonna use that bracket??
Hdr ?
I stuck the support in the far corner… same problem for me.
To bad The new power connecter melts if it is Bendt incorrect.
there is no diference between TUF and Strix this gen because the cards have a voltage cap. So as long as they both hit 600W limit they are pretty much the same
1300w
Not true, strix is using more premium materials and has better cooling, Tuf will do just fine tho.
Both have the same PCB
@@AndreasRP.no lol
@@fancyson0 yes lol
Fire 🔥 ! 🤣
RTX 4090 Woof
Woof
Still the best of all RTX 4090 cards
Your tuf 4090 got full marks BUT your COD skill only got 20 marks!😁
Please dont tell me that gameplay at the end was in 1080p.
"IT'S TOO BIG" - that's what she said WOOF
That’s what He said. 😱
Question: i have the same gpu i wired with 2 PCI 6+2 and the rest 2 with a single PCI 6+2 splitted, in the starting load i have red light on gpu, then all its fine, what i have to do? How so you Connect, on the video is not showed up Well , thx
It works right. That sounds ok
Coil whine😂
where you able to close the side panel?
I wanna know that too! I have a Corsair Obsidian 500D with an GIGANTIC AORUS 3090, just bought this ASUS TUF 4090 and I don't know if I'll will fit wide-wise. The card yes, but the cables? I don't know if I'll be able to close the side panel. I'm updating this tomorrow when I install the 4090 inside.
@@Kiwomens How did you go with the side panel? My case is 229mm wide and im a bit worried!!
What is the right power supply?
To answer my own question: atx 3.0
Seems MSI is the only major distributor to make one so far and the order is on backorder for over a month now. There's an off brand on Amazon called Gamemax, but I iffy on they're reliability. Though, those have a 10 year warranty.
What case do you have
Corsair 5000D
It's huge...
-That's what she said
How is the coil whine on yours? Any? Mine is horrible
On the Asus Tuf one? Mine arrives later today so should be able to put an update probably tomorrow
You have a Tuf. Can say I hear anything. Even the fans from where I sit. I can just hear my CPU cooler
@@TallyHoTech Yep i got the TUF OC, coil whine was horrible the first few hours...seems to be a bit better now! Hope the neighbours don't think im strangling my cat or something
@@megacartfr Yep, TUF OC
In over 20 years of playing on higher end gaming PCs, I have never once been able to hear the PC with my headset on. I will never understand these complaints of loud PC components, like you can REALLY hear the fans over the machine guns, or swords clanging, plus Teamspeak/Discord conversations and in game music? There is no way.
I got one too. It's big, it's looking like a freaking brick and I absolutely hate its design.
I'm going to put duct tape over my pc window xD
Heheh
Your GPU utilisation is very low Mate (around 60%), hence the low frames. You'll have to play around a bit with settings etc and you should hit those frames. Just bough the same GPU and she's a beast. Got my 10700k OC'd to 5.1ghz, and get 99% GPU utilisation in heavy load games.
I depends on the game right ?
@@TallyHoTech The utilisation does depend on the game Mate, but then you should be still hitting your max frames if the GPU isn't bottlenecked. Looks like it is.
I'm also using this Asus 4090 with a 10700K. I don't mind paying for the latest GPU but I'm not buying new motherboard, AIO, CPU and RAM just to gain +5% fps at best in 3440x1440p
@@Kiwomens What kind of GPU utilisation are you getting, and what kind of frames you hitting Mate in what gsmes and at what games settings? I'm running a Samsung super ultrawide at 5120 x 1440. Have you OC'd your CPU?
@@tangosucka8526 i saw a lot of videos two years ago when I bought the 10700K, to see the difference between 10700K and OCed 10700K. The difference was so negligible that I completely lost interest in OC It. So it runs a its default 4.7Ghz boost frec
Dude why the screen is so bright
Dont need to buy och.. i just buy normal 4090 tuf and flach Strix Bios bomm 600 vart and higher clocks not need to buy the expensive Strix Ore oc
Man, I envy you, I want one too 😃
Don’t envy me. I have to give it back. That’s worse .
@@TallyHoTech Well, now when you know how it tastes like, defo you gonna have to buy one 😃
What’s the length of this GPU?
350mm. Just a few mm too long for all the popular matx cases.
Edit: the listing says 348 but I keep measuring 350, maybe they don’t include the io plate?
345mm
The Tough(TUF) 4090 is men's romantic graphics card. weight 2,2KG 😱😱
Weeeee
Is that a 5000D case?
Yea
@@TallyHoTechNice, I have a 4000D but it's a little bit too small for most 4090 cards so I purchased a 5000D. I just received it today so I'll be swapping everything to the 5000D later. 😁
I'm waiting 1-2 months just to acquire the new GPUs and avoid adapters. EVGA > ASUS
Can you please explain what the physical switch "Eco mode" vs. "Performance mode" does? What is the difference.
many thanks!
Less power and lower fans noise. Useless because it quiet in performance mode

Thought you wasn't gonna buy one 😂😂😂😂
RS Tech copy-pasted your video without sound...
actually one of the smallest 4090 lol
CPU bottleneck 😢
Not with the game he played, the CPU was basically idle 2-3% load.
@@Techtablets that’s because games don’t use all the cores. He is still cpu bottlenecked as his gpu usage never reached 100 percent
@@Techtablets in order to determine true cpu usage he’d have to display the load of the cores the game is using
@@Techtablets if gpu i not hitting like 99% then it is waiting for cpu to process frames, doesnt matter the usage! 4090 is a behemoth, even on 4k some games are cpu bottlenecked!
Atleast you wont have to upgrade gpu for years, just cpu to get more fps 🤓
Gigabyte has better memory cooling this gen, much better bracket solution AND much cheaper lol
They made them too long. No sale from me lol
Bracket is fucking pathetic. I have shit underneath my card currently, not to mention the height
and the 3090 came with a great bracket. Not sure how im installing this now

great have 0 idea how to install it after a whole video of nothing. you literally played with a damn screw driver half of the video
this "bracket" is so ridiculous. You buy a 2K USD card and have this miserable crutch. Oh, and a thank you note. For this money they could throw in a vertical bracket with a PCI4 cable
