- Austin Butler and his agent, James Farrell, chat with ET’s Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner at the 95th Academy Awards. Butler, who is nominated for Best Actor for his performance as Elvis in the Baz Luhrmann biopic, shares that he is 'carrying a lot' of Elvis' daughter, the late Lisa Marie Presley, with him on this big night. The Oscars air Sunday, March 12 on ABC.

I am 14 years old from TAIWAN, and I used to know that there was Elvis Presley, but I didn't know much about it. Ever since I stumbled across this movie on TV once, I don't know what to say, it's brilliant. After that, I was excited to find my parents to watch it for the second time. It's incredible that I can fall in love with singers from the last century at my age! 😢😢

It was bull. Fraser made a comeback in a gross movie, his acting was not better either. He sat in a fat suit THROUGHOUT the movie. Austin sang, danced, and acted and wore a fat suit in the end, plus acted all ages of Elvis. The Oscar members don't know squat. Tonight just catered to the Asian population. The Oscars were more concerned about pleasing diversity, than rating the best actor or movie.

Austin Butler should have won Academy Awards for: “Best leading role;” “Best new picture;” “Best Sound;” “Best Wardrobe;” and “Best Production!” He was the perfect choice for this role and did a fabulous job! How and why he was skipped over or overlooked in any category in tonight’s presentations is a travesty to say the least and the Hollywood Elite should be ashamed of themselves for blatantly ignoring his impressive talents! Shameful.

Part of Austin's appeal is his humble attitude . You can tell that he is very grateful to be where he is now. Some of the other young actors are just so cocky and full of themselves. Everyone who has interviewed Austin falls in love with him! He has it all, talent , drop dead gorgeous looks and seems to have a great deal of respect for everyone.
That is very true that Austin brought Elvis to a whole new generation! My then 15 yr old granddaughter knew who Elvis was and she was familiar with some of his songs. She also knew who Austin Butler was from a couple TV shows but she didn't know much about him. We went to see the movie when it came out in June. She was blown away by Austin 's portrayal of Elvis and has since become a major Elvis as well as Austin Butler fan. She has watched some of Elvis's old movies and has T shirts and blankets and other things depicting Elvis . She drew a picture of Elvis in the pink suit and has it as well as the big Movie poster of Austin as Elvis hanging on her bedroom wall. She also has many of Elvis' songs on her playlist that she listens to all the time!!

The Elvis movie was one movie I personally went to the movies to see 11 times, I haven’t done this for any other movie, The real Elvis was long before my time, I’m a millennial , but I grew up with my parents listening to Elvis music still to this day.

Butler was fantastic (but so was Fraser), and yes, I feel many of the movies of the year are terrible. Did Moonlight win a few years back? That movie was terribly boring 😴!! The Shape of Water was awful, and La La Land was mediocre, to name a few.

The Oscars truly lost its luster after snubbing Austin. He was amazing in Elvis. I am glad and proud of BAFTA and the other award shows who recognized Austin's talents by having real brains to know what true quality was then gave it to the ones who truly did their homework and performed. There was a kid named Joaquin Phoenix who played Johny cash in walk the line and went above and beyond acting and real singing...and he lost...why because the same reason Austin probably lost....To young but I use the same example again....phoenix look how long it took....Joker so give it time .
I mean, Taron Egerton wasn't even nominated and he was up there in terms of quality and dedication with Austin and Joaquin, if not above. I always knew that the Oscars mostly suck but this time I had hoped it could be better.
