my favorite part of this update is the duel yard i havent experienced anything else but the duel yard is such a magical experience for me and im happy they gave the heraldic jousting armor away for free because iv always wanted that armor set. i do kinda agree with chivalry 2's idea to keep away those vip cosmetics for ffa only because then it would be weird playing rudhelm and seeing like five rudhelm hiers running around lol

One annoying thing about the new team balancing thing is it now separates people who are partied up. I played with a friend earlier and for half the matches we were put on opposing teams. We played anyway, but it never used to do that before.
that happens to me every time I have played with my friends who are cross platform, I am on PC and they are on PS4/Xbox. Been playing since last May and 50% of matches we are on opposite teams, I personally dont mind too much but it can be annoying.
I do like some things about the new update. I’ve been playing the Duel Yard lately. That is probably the best part of the update other than the cheating ban. It is a good time to jump in and fit in rings and pits against foes. And it’s nice to have sort of a social setting where you can fool around. Your right, it’s a sandbox. A creative arena. Fist fighting, throwing bottles and food at each other, getting in intense duels. It’s fun! The cheating fix is awesome though. I play on North American servers in this game so most of the time people in the game are pretty friendly and chivalrous lol. But every now and then you’ll find a screaming toxic dude who thinks he’s a god and takes the fun of it for everyone. But hopefully it does help with cheaters and toxicity that is spreading in this game. Other than that the update isn’t that crazy to me. The frozen wreck is cool, getting to fire ballista into ice and have players fall through into the icy water. That is badass. Bazaar is a beautiful map but it is disappointing that it’s the same thing. Free for all and fighting. I’m glad there adding more of those things, because we need more. I def think the strong suit for this game is the first person immersion charging head long into battle, storming a fortress. I love that shit. I don’t think that will ever get old. The combat is satisfying and the sword parrying is awesome. Still, I play for about an hour and half then get bored. At the end of the day it’s a medieval slasher. I truly think they need to add new mechanics and maps. It needs to happen to keep this game going. I’ve mentioned it before but a jungle map and a naval ship combat would be super great. For a jungle map, maybe battling in close quarters in thick foliage and waterfalls would be epic and scary. I don’t know how they’d do ship fighting but it could be cool. Boarding enemy vessels with arrows and swords would be sweet across the ocean. One thing I thought about that would be cool, it probably would be difficult to add. Locking blades in combat with someone. I don’t know how to explain it. You charge at someone you both swing at the same time and the swords lock and spark. You have to spam the square or circle button to get out of it, pushing them back with the hilt if you manage to over power them. Don’t know if that makes sense but yeah that’s my thought on it.
Stridah I wish you would talk more about 3v3s. It’s such a good game mode and there are only 3 maps! I’m hoping you can bring some attention to this. Why does Torn Banner neglect this game mode? It has so much potential!

Huh, I thought the ability to stab through teammates was taken away in an earlier patch? Enemies can freely stab through your idiot teammate to you however, and then your weapon bounces off your teammate and stops midswing.
yeah.. not enthused about the stab change. was the one attack that would work when surrounded by teammates. now there’s near no solution to teammates perfectly pivoting to soak up every swing I am at the enemy, super fun
I play in first and idiot team mates will run from my back to stand directly in front of my fight. I will just be team killing them from here on out fuck em
Great video as always, I'm very excited about custom servers. Thankfully for me the wait wasn't that long because I began the game during the December free weekend event. Quick question about the gameplay, I have an issue where I get into counter wars with enemies where we just counter each other's attacks, and it always ends either in other players arriving to help or in duels it goes on until someone gambles or screws up. Any advice for getting around this stuff? I play Knight and Vanguard with Greatsword and the Poleman with Halberd. Either way keep up the great work!
Without seeing your gameplay you can use feints, accells or drags to force missed counters. In TO if you get stuck in 1 v 1 you made a mistake of positioning.
Don't forget about the sprint charge change and the Jab changes! Polearms were nerfed in a few ways but also the Jab for pole weapons is very fast now.
@halsed The sprint charge has a slower start up, making them easier to react to and also have less range. and longer recovery period so more easily punished for bumping into things or starting an attack too close.

Ever since the patch I feel like my blocks and swings are constantly not accounted for which is forcing me to play super passively (I'm a very aggressive "in your face" type of player, so I'm quite pissed). Not sure if any of you guys are also experiencing this too, but it's making me second guess my ability at this point. Positive, is indeed the Siege Crossbow correction: love to wreck those ballista huggers with 2 pinpoint bolts.
Can't believe they are making a dueling server but not doing anything to infoce it. I just wanna duel with my mates but there is always someone who ruins it for everyone and just attacks and harasses people.
The thing that bothers me the most is the lack of awareness it seems they have. Removing the ability to heavy through teammates is downright stupid, considering teammates LOVE to stand directly in front of you instead of going around. Not only that, the FFA stuff. It feels like a waste. I mostly play TO because I like the structure of it, and yes, some of the cosmetics may be strange to include in the TO or TDM gamemodes, but I think we'd get used to it if colors stayed consistent. Overall, it definitely feels like this campaign pass is filler for something else. I do like that they finally fixed the siege crossbow though.

To answer your question, the physical distance between EU & American servers are what make them run poorly when, say a fella from EU queues up in a NA server. This EU chap in question is literally so far away, that even with superb internet his connection struggles to send & receive information back and forth, to & from the NA server in a timely matter. To make it simple, he's so far away that it's next to impossible for the internet to keep up with a distance like that and keep the connection smooth & fast. Unfortunately, that also means it's hard for EU folk and NA folk to play almost anything together online because of that huge physical distance.

New player year only been around for a couple of updates and I only really played periodically between the ones I did I played the original chivalry on my 360 when I was a teenager so I just don’t understand how they could’ve messed up the ranking system is bad I’ve nearly deleted the game because I thought it was just me I feel so far behind and it just doesn’t make sense I keep getting auto balanced which is bullshit and then I end up on the losing team and all the high mmr people are on the other team Honestly at least I understand what’s going on right now

Does anyone know what the level 30 reward in the Fête-for-all Campaign is? It's called "The Druid" but I don't see it literally anywhere. Am I just clueless?
After almost 2 weeks, this patch has been horrible. Besides all the issues with the over priced, exclusive, non-private, limited control, server hosting with no central servers, the team balance is still not fixed. Then there is server stability, hitching, and constantly being dropped from servers is just plain annoying especially when in a group and one or two get dropped. But the massive issues I have found is the very high number of hits going through parries and high number of ghost swings doing no damage. Ping here is not an issue unless 0-14 ping (on 1gb fiber) is a problem based on lag prediction and lag compensation. Some of the map changes like decreasing "leaving the field of battle" timers when an objective has been reached pretty much destroys flanking and distracting a team from behind. Also nerfing valid defensive cata tactics on the second stage of Stronghold with kill timers on catas is just stupid. There are of course newly introduced bug like getting behind the door at the cathedral and battle monks being nobles. Then there is the jab animation bugs and delays for a mechanic that is kind of always been kind of broken as well as the high number of back parries that should not be happening when attacking from behind. I will not even mention of the special overheads from behind that do no damage is also still an issue. But I degress. 1 step forward 3 steps back seems to be the way of the devs with TBS going back to 2007 mod team.

Man... Chiv 1 and its DLC Deadliest Warrior had so many maps... I don't understand why they don't focus on adding a ton of maps. Instead we are getting cosmetics for mason and agatha?? What about Tenosia?? That faction is just unfinished af and I hope they update it in the future. Overall this update was ok but there is a lot more to be done here. And by the way Bazaar and Duel Yard are lame excuses for new maps. Bazaar is literally a section of an old map and Duel Yard is the tutorial level opened up for free roam xD. Lazy devs if you ask me.

And by the way Bazaar and Duel Yard are lame excuses for new maps. Bazaar is literally a section of an old map and Duel Yard is the tutorial level opened up for free roam xD. Lazy devs if you ask me.
They did add a lot to duel yard I would not call it anything close to a copy paste. Bazar is a copy paste tho lol

Overall disappointing. Still feel combat needs to be tweaked. Over 700 hours and still seeing spinning, unreadable feints and jpeg accels. So tired of this.
